Abstrak Bahasa The purpose of this research is to find out the effectiveness of mastery learning method in
Inggeris engineering technology subject at one of the school in Mersing, Johor. It has been done to
28 student from one of secondary school in Mersing contain of 14 female student and 14
male student. The questionnaires is used as a research instrument which was divided into
two section where section A content the respondent background information and section B
include 40 items of five research question. It is about the effectiveness of mastery learning
method in increase the level of interest, understand, human capital, achievement, behavior
and self concept in engineering technology subject. The questionnaires used Alpha
Cronbach Model to test the trustworthiness and the alpha value of all items is 0.827. All
questionnaires analysis process used Statistical Packages For The Social Sciences (SPSS
V13 full version) for window software to obtain the result in term of frequency, mean and
percentage. The result of the study shows that average mean for the increase of interest
obtain 2.96 and the increase of student understand obtain 2.91. Nevertheless the mean of
human capital build is high which is 3.03, also the increase of achievement show high min
which is 3.05 and the mean of increase the student behavior and self concept is also high
which is 3.17. The value of Pearson’s Correlation shows the first and second hypothesis
were accepted while the third, four and fifth hypothesis are rejected .
