Rail & infrastructure

Demand for public transport is growing as a result of congestion and environmental concern, even though strong competition from other
transport modes exists.

Operators have limited infrastructure capacity, and thus have difficulty meeting this demand. Public transport competes with roads for
investment funds, and planning processes mean that transport infrastructure projects take a long time to deliver.

The success of rail freight operators mainly depends on the competitive position of the logistic chains and on cooperation with other
transport modes / logistic services companies.

Implementing multimodal transport will imply safe and efficient movement of goods under the responsibility of a single transport operator.
