Legislative Agenda

• Develop, monitor and recommend strategies for the design, delivery and
management of enterprise information technology (IT) services established in
law.

• Plan and Monitor Information Technology Security.

Agency Challenges

• AEIT is a policy organization with an extremely limited mission and little


enterprise authority.

• AEIT is empowered only to make recommendations on how to move forward with


the enterprise IT services listed in statute, which currently consist of data center
functions, e-mail, and some IT security services.

• No agency provides strategic oversight in planning for business-level IT services


or operational oversight of statewide IT activities and investments that fall
outside the three services listed above.

• AEIT or a governing body needs authority to address standards and policy


outside of the primary data centers.
