Behemoth

counterpart to Leviathan
This study is part two of a three part Powerpoint presentation.
The presenter is available for speaking engagements.
Speaker contact information is at the end of the paper.
In a previous study we shared about "Leviathan" the king over all the children of
pride (http://www.scribd.com/doc/39328114/Leviathan). Today we are
going to talk about his counterpart Behemoth, Self-Righteousness,
Rebellion and Deception.
All scripture quoted is taken from KJV unless otherwise stated.
This study will focus on the attacks of Behemoth on our individual lives,
physically and mentally, which affects us spiritually. We will continue with a
follow up in another study of both Leviathan and Behemoth’s deadly attacks on
the church and the world. We will expose who they really are in Bible prophecy.
We need to learn from Job’s experience so not to repeat his mistakes of pride,
self-righteousness and a rebellious attitude, but to have a humble, submissive
spirit towards our Creator. We need to understand how Satan is deceiving and
controlling, not only the lives of individuals, but of churches and
nations of the world. THIS MEANS YOU AND ME AND OUR FAMILIES!!
Praise God He has not left us in the dark but has revealed the battle plan of the
enemy, the great dragon!
Continuing with the story of Job. In his pain and distress, and through his own
wisdom he became rebellious, self-righteous and justified himself, claiming God
was unjust in his dealings with him. Job desired to have an audience with God.
Job 31:35 Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the
Almighty would answer me...

Job 31:37 I would declare unto him the number of my steps; as a

prince would I go near unto him.

Job 32:1 So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous
in his own eyes.

Job 32:2 Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu ... against Job ...because he
justified himself rather than God.

Job 32:3 Also against his three friends was his (Job) wrath kindled, because
they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.

Job 34:5 (Elihu speaking) "For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath
taken away my judgment.

1
Job 34:9 For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should
delight himself with God.

Job 34:35 Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were
without wisdom....

Job 34:37 For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands
among us, and multiplieth his words against God".

God granted Job an audiance with Him as he had a very important point to make
to Job.

Job 38:2 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, Who is
this that darkeneth (or gives murky) counsel by words without
knowledge?

Job 38:3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and
answer thou me.
In chapters 38-40 is recorded 74 questions which God asked of Job. These
questions were not to settle an argument, but for God to reveal Himself - His
goodness, power and wisdom. He did not explain to Job the reasons for his
sufferings, but was showing him through these afflictions, a flaw which had been
hiding in the character of this righteous man and could only be manifested
through these trials. God's purpose was to open Job’s eyes and rescue him from
this deadly, unseen mammoth foe.
Job 40:3 So the Lord answered Job and said, "shall anyone who holds a
controversy with me try to instruct or reprove me as well? He that thinks he is
right to argue or justify himself against me, let him answer or give account to
his reasoning.”

Job 40:3 Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

Job 40:4 Behold, I am vile (impure, sinful, unclean); what shall I answer thee? I
will lay mine hand upon my mouth.

Job 40:5 Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will
proceed no further.
Notice that in Job’s answer to God, he did not justify himself but admitted that he
had sinned against Him. This revelation forever changed Job’s attitude and
outlook towards himself and towards his Creator. Apparently Job needed further
instruction and understanding, for once again, out of the whirlwind returns the
Divine voice of God. I believe God's main purpose was not to shame Job, but to
lead him in a new experience.

2
The next 8 verses, (Job 40:7-14,) will be paraphrasesd for a more simple
understanding of what God is saying to Job.
"Strap on your belt of strength like a warrior as I am going to ask you some
questions and have you answer me."

Will you also discredit my judgment? Will you condemn or declare me

wrong to justify your self-righteousness?

Do you have an arm that is mighty and powerful like mine? Can you produce a
thunderclap?

If so, then dress yourself now with majesty and exaltedness and array yourself
with glory, honor, beauty and magnificence.

Spew forth the furies of your anger, look upon every one that is arrogant and
humble him.
See everyone that is proud and bring him to bend the knee into subjection, and
tread down or crush the wicked with your foot till they are as powder under
your feet.

Bury them all in the dust together. Cover their faces in the grave.

If you can do all this Job, Then I myself will praise you that your own right
hand is strong enough to bring your own salvation (save, free,
avenging, defend, deliver, rescue, get victory). Job 40:7-14

Behemoth - The unseen, silent foe.

The spirit of deception.
God is now going to share with Job an unseen, silent, undetected, formidable foe
by describing to him a land beast which was familiar to Job, to give him an
understanding of this deceptive enemy he was dealing with in his own life. His
name is "Behemoth"
Again, I will paraphrase the next 10 verses (Job 40:15-24) for simplicity reasons
only.

In describing behemoth to Job, God says;

"Look at behemoth (large quadruped or 4 legged beast) the mighty powerful,
dumb (meaning mute or silent) beast. I created him just like I created you. He
eats grass like an ox.
His great strength is in his loins and his power is in the navel of his belly.

3
His tail is like a ceder tree; the muscles or sinews of his thighs are woven
together.

His bones are like tubes of bronze; his legs are like bars of iron.

He is the first or beginning of God's works and only his Maker can destroy him.

The mountains present him their crops, yet all the beasts of the field play there.

He lies under the lotus trees, hidden by the reeds and swamp.

The shade trees hide him in their shadow; the willows of the stream surround
him.

He plunders and causes destruction to the river and is not afraid.

He is confident that he can gulp the Jordan river with his mouth.

He will seize it with his eyes and with his breathe he will strike through and
ensnare.

Behemoth / Kingly, Gigantic Beast

The following thoughts are taken from author Paul S. Taylor:
"Behemoth means kingly, gigantic beasts. The Bible's best description of a
dinosaur-like animal is recorded in. ....Job 40:15-19. The book of Job is very old,
probably written around 2,000 years before Jesus was born. Here God describes
a great king of the land animals like some of the biggest dinosaurs, the
Diplodocus and Apatosaurus.

It was a gigantic plant-eater with great muscles and very strong bones. The long
Diplodocus had leg bones so strong that he could have held three others on his
back.

The behemoths were not afraid. They did not need to be; they were huge. Their
tails were so long and strong that God compared them to cedars - one of the
largest and most spectacular trees of the ancient world.

After all the behemoths had died out, many people forgot them. Dinosaurs were
extinct and the fossil skeletons that are in museums today did not begin to be put
together until about 150 years ago. Today, some people have mistakenly guessed
that the behemoth mentioned in the Bible might be an elephant or a
hippopotamus. But those animals certainly do not have tails like the thick, tall
trunks of cedar trees! Although it cannot be stated with certainty, it appears that
dinosaurs may have actually been mentioned in the Bible. This should not sound
so strange. After all, God tells us that He created all the land animals on the 6th
day of creation, the same day that he created mankind. Man and dinosaurs lived

4
at the same time. There was never a time when dinosaurs ruled the earth. From
the very beginning of creation, God gave man dominion over all that was made,
even over the dinosaurs".

Apatosaurus was one of the largest land animals that ever existed,
with an average length of 23 m (75 ft) and a mass of at least 23 metric
tons (25 short tons). (www.wikipedia.org)
God is revealing behemoth to Job as an enemy which is much larger, more
dreaded and formidable than any beast, even the monstrous dinosaurs. This evil
foe will quietly and elusively, with cunning and craftiness, make his way into our
lives, to plunder and cause destruction. Once he is in, he grows into a monster
larger than a dinosaur and becomes almost impossible for us to deal with. As it
says in Job 40 verse 19, God made him and he alone can destroy him. We must
be on our guard against Behemoth but in order to do this, we must know who he
is and what his works are.
Let’s again go over these verses in Job 40 to see the spiritual lessons concerning
Behemoth.

Job 40:15 Behold (lo! [is expressing surprise]. With this expression, God is
asking Job to direct his attention to the massiveness and power of this
creature.

"see now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth (consumes, devours)
grass (in Bible symbology grass represents the frailty of flesh [1 Peter 1:24] )
"Satan studies every indication of the frailty of human nature, he marks the
sins which each individual is inclined to commit, and then he takes care that
opportunities shall not be wanting to gratify the tendency to evil." (Great
Controversy, page 555, Ellen G. White)
"as an ox" (used for plowing or to plough {Web. Collegiate Dict. 5th edition};
1. "An implement used to cut, lift, invert, and partly pulverize soil.

2. To turn up, break up, or trench with a plow. 4. To go, move, cut, or
cleave as through water in sailing or as a plow does through soil.)
Remember, Leviathan cuts through the water (symbolic for "people" [Revelation
17:15]) and Behemoth plows through the ground or soil (symbolic for the
"heart", which is our mind, will, thoughts and feelings, which constitutes our
moral character) [Luke 8:5-15]).
“If the thoughts are wrong, the feelings will be wrong; and the thoughts and
feelings combined make up the moral character.”
Job 40:16 Lo! now, This expression using the word "now" in conjunction with
"Lo! is even more intense as it is implying "to entreat with urgency." In
other words, God is saying, "this is very important, don't miss it."

5
Lo now, his strength (firmness, power might) is in his loins, and his force
(effort, success, ability, wealth, fruit) is in the navel (a cord, sinew; from the
root word H8324 to be hostile, an opponent, enemy) H8270: a string, as
twisted, that is, the umbilical cord (figuratively as the centre of strength)
of his belly (the womb; as they that be born).
This great controversy between Good and Evil is about truth vs. lies, right vs.
wrong, our best friend vs. our worst enemy, our Saviour vs. our
opponent. God is showing us that our enemy's strength (firmness, power
might) is in his loins. Everything about the enemy is in opposition or a
counterfeit of the truth. In Ephesians 6:14 we are told to have our "loins girt
about with truth." With this insight, then behemoth's strength in his loins
must be his lies, falsehood, and deception.
"He [Satan] constantly sows his tares in every heart that is not barricaded with
the truth." (Home Missionary, Feb 1, 1890, Ellen G. White)
This is what this study is all about, the enemy's hostile determination to destroy
every soul Jesus died for (John 3:16), through his lies, falsehood, and
deception against the righteous character of God (His laws) and the
truth of His Word (Bible). His evil work began when Satan, through the
serpent, beguiled Eve with doubt against God's word and used her to bring
disbelief to Adam. It worked in the garden and it is still working today with
astonishing success.
THIS WAR IS REAL!
Job 40:17 He (bends or flaps) his tail like a cedar (or with firmness and
determination):
the sinews (a thong [pressed together], to crowd upon, that is, attack:
invade, overcome.

Job 40:17 "...the sinews of his stones [H6343 testicle, to cause fear] H6342 "to be
startled by a sudden alarm; or the object feared, feeling dreadful or terror)
"are wrapped together" (to intwine, a wreath).
"Tendon"; A tough cord or band of defence.

So his sinews, intwined as a wreath, supplies strength and power. They are
his tough cord or band of defence uniting or pressing together a muscle with
some other part of the body (in this case, his stones) and transmitting or
sending out a signal (fear, terror) by the force exerted by the muscle.
Behemoth is shown here as a male which brings much fear. He is closely
connected to a power source through the umbilical cord, "she who begot him." In
the study of "Mystery Babylon the Great" we will take a deeper look into
these two beast powers (Leviathan and Behemoth) and who they represent.

6
In vs 16,"strength" means "to be firm" also (from its hardiness as a large
lizard: {dragon, dinosars} and also meaning chameleon:
"The composite term Apatosaurus comes from the Greek names apate
/apatelos, meaning "deception"/"deceptive" and sauros meaning
"lizard"; thus, "deceptive lizard" (www.wikipedia.org)
Just like the serpent and the super crocodile, the dinosaur is from the reptilian
animals.
Web. Collegiate Dict. 5th edition: Chameleon
chamai - on the ground, dwarf + leon, lion (dwarfed lion) 1. Any of a group of
lizards remarkable for the change of color of the skin according to the mood of
the animal or surrounding conditions. 2. A person who is fickle or inconstant.
"Fickle"; Liable to change; unstable, faithless. (An apostate: One who deserts
professed principles of faith; a renegade. [Web. Collegiate Dict. 5th edition].
I believe what it is saying here is that the invasion which Behemoth uses against
mankind is with firmness and determination, and is bound up or hidden in
a neatly wrapped package, secured with a cord or band of defense for protection
(secrecy). At the right moment, (when all are asleep in carnal security) it
will send out its signal of attack by the force of the muscle (power, troop,
army). Because of its chameleon ability to change the color of its skin to
the mood of its surrounding conditions, this veiled, obscured, silent attack
will not be detected by those who are asleep because of the drowsy,
dreamy, benumbed state of mind they are in.
Job 40:18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass, his bones are like bars of iron.
"His bones" meaning his body or his substance.

Web. Collegiate Dict.5th edition; "substance"; 1. That which underlies all outward
manifestations; real, unchanging essence or nature, that which constitutes
anything that it is. 2. Characteristic components.

"are as strong pieces" meaning a container, or a tube.

"of brass" (taken from the root word H5175 snake, hiss, serpent)

"hiss" means; whisper a (magic) spell;

"his bones (unchanging nature or characteristic components)

"are like bars of iron" (hammering out as forged).

The description here is saying that the mammoth body of Behemoth is a
container holding the unchanging nature or characteristic components of a
snake or serpent (Satan, cunning and crafty) which hammers its victims like
iron.”

7
Remember the word “hiss” means “to whisper a magic spell” or “to
enchant’; to charm, put under a spell, allure, bewitch, fascinate, infatuate,
captivate (to capture, subdue, to acquire ascendancy (control) over (something or
somebody) by art of attraction.)
"Pleasing, bewitching fables captivate the senses, and lead men to reject
the Bible as the foundation of their faith. Christ is as verily denied as before; but
Satan has so blinded the eyes of the people that the deception is not
discerned." (Great Controversy, page 557-558, Ellen G. White)
Job 40:19 He is the chief (the first, in place, time, order or rank "of the ways of
God": (Mode of action, creation).

The gigantic dinosaurs were the great king of the land animals. That made
them first in rank. Lucifer was a chief arch angel, next highest in rank to Michael.
"he that made (or created) him can make his sword to approach unto him (or
destroy him). Only behemoth’s Maker (our all powerful God) can and will destroy
him with His sword at the end of time.
Back to behemoth's captivating, ingenious tricks.

Job 40:20 Surely (nevertheless)

"the mountains" meaning to loom up. In Bible symbolism, mountains or hills

(high places) represent places of worship, good or evil [churches] (See
Isaiah 2:2,3, Micah 4:1). High places; (Deuteronomy 12:2, Judges 5:18)

"bring him forth" to lift, exalt (self), furnish, honour, magnify, raise (up),
yield)

"food" (produce, a crop [wealth: fruit, increase]

"where all the beasts" (alive; raw flesh; life, company, congregation,
multitude)

"of the field" (land, soil {earth})

"play" (to laugh in pleasure or detraction).

"Men of intelligence are infatuated with Satanic sorcery... Thousands
accept the opinion of the minister or obey the injunctions of the pope
or priest, and neglect God's word and despise his truth." {Signs of the
Times, May 18, 1882 par. 14, Ellen G. White}
Behemoth is not only out to destroy our physical body, which affects our spiritual
health, but he is coming after our souls.
People in all the religions of the world are being devoured through deception of
this gigantic, devious beast.

8
He plows through the soil of their heart, mind, and souls, while hammering and
treading on God's word of truth with his huge iron feet. Nevertheless, all these
religions, in their self-righteous forms of worship, continue to exalt, honor and
lift up this modern-day Molech of immorality and idol worship.
Frail humanity is attracted to this enchanted ground where Behemoth beguiles
them with his mystical, captivating charm. He allures them with his "smooth
words" and "feel good" sorcery to partake of the forbidden fruit which is
attractive, beautiful and inviting (on the outside), but its meat is evil and full of
deadly poison.
He will plant seeds of doubt in their minds against God's truth, making them to
believe they are wise enough to follow their own ways (like Cain). Discarding
God's holy law and commands, they believe that He will save them in their sins,
not from them.
Satan knows that away from God and on their own, humans are no match for
him. If he can get them to veer from the truth of God's holy Word, before they
realize it, he will have them drinking from his golden cup the wine of
abominations and filthiness. At this moment of our worlds’ history, Behemoth
has captivated and now holds under his spell by the art of attraction, the majority
of humanity. This is how Behemoth is fed and continues to grow and yields an
increase on earth.
Just because something looks or sounds good does not make it right. We must be
watchful. A small amount of poison in a clear glass of pure water can kill you.
What are some of the other things that Behemoth is doing to beguile or charm the
people into his trap?
Job 40:21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens. "He
lieth" (for rest, sexual connection or any other purpose)

Soul & Heart Ties, the tie that binds.

God created marriage as a bond, tie or union between a man and a woman,
husband and wife. Marriage is not a contract but a covenant, a blood
covenant, the strongest and most sacred of all covenants.
Mark 10:6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and
female.
Mark 10:7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave
to his wife;
Mark 10:8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more
twain, but one flesh.
Mark 10:9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put
asunder.

9
1 Corinthians 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

A honorable marriage is blessed by God.

This is a command of God and Satan hates God's laws and is at war against them.
He is out to destroy humanity by deceiving people into thinking that evil
(transgression of God's law) is good and good (obeying God's law) is evil.
Do you see Leviathan at work here, twisting people’s minds?
God created the marriage union to show us how he wants that intimate
relationship between Himself and His church (see Ephesians 5:25-27). Satan is
out to not only pervert the sacred marriage union between a man and
a woman but to unite all humanity together (even children) through
adultery, fornication, and all promiscuous sexual activities. It's called
"soul ties".
"What does the term "soul or heart ties mean"?
"The word "soul" in the Scriptures.... is used interchangeable with the word
"spirit" and sometimes coincides with the Hebrew usage of "heart." (The
Marriage Covenant And Sexual Sin p.5, by Al and Collette Martin)
Soul ties are connected with our mind or intellect, emotions and desires (lusts).
Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries,
fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
"In other words, to be joined together as "one flesh" would involve the mind,
emotions; choices and the moral behavior, would have solid ties to the heart and
soul. Thus we could call it soul or heart ties....one is positive (within the
marriage) [Genesis 2:24] and one is negative (outside the marriage) [1
Corinthians 6:16].
Could it be that in the understanding of being "one flesh" might mean that a
transfer or mingling of emotions, thoughts. etc., would take place?"
(The Marriage Covenant And Sexual Sin p. 6)
"When two people come together in a sexual encounter (good or bad) the soul;
the mind, intellect, the emotions and desires of two people are joined, attached,
united, coupled or merged together....not only physically but also spiritually."
(The Marriage Covenant And Sexual Sin p. 8, by Al and Collette Martin)

How does illicit sex unite one with Behemoth?

“Illicit” - “not permitted; improper; unlawful” [Web. Collegiate Dict. 5th Edition]
{see Exodus 22:19, Leviticus 19:20, 20:11,13, Deuteronomy 27:20-23}.

"The shocking reality that must be considered is that Satan is connecting people
through sexual encounters outside of marriage, which gives him the right to
control in this area. Through sex and sexual relationships of every kind, the devil

10
is connecting the world and bringing them under his bondage. (The Marriage
Covenant And Sexual Sin p. 7, by Al and Collette Martin)
Satan is trying to unite the whole world together through illicit sex. Sex is an
object of worship in satanic rituals and every day multitudes of men, woman and
children are being sexually abused.
We are talking about people who are willingly choosing to commit these
sins against God’s law and against their fellow man. There are many who
have been unwilling victim in these sexual sins which brought them much pain
and suffering. God understands pain and suffering more then anyone. He
watched as His arch enemy Satan tortured to death His sinless, innocent,
blameless, loving Son. He had the power and authority to send all the angels of
heaven to snatch Jesus from the grip of this cruel enemy, but He loved you and
me too much to stop our salvation, the atoning Lamb from being slaughtered, the
only sacrifice that could bring man back into reconciliation with God. This was
true love. As long as sin is in this world, there will be much injustice, pain,
sorrow and suffering. But if we stay faithful to Jesus, He is coming back soon as
King of kings and Lord of lords to serve justice to Satan and his seed (those
who choose to willfully follow him) and to take His loyal followers back to
heaven.
John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in
me.
John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would
have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive
you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. {See also Revelation
19:11-16}
I want to make sure everyone who may be reading this understands that God
loves you no matter what sin you may have or are committing. He extends His
offer of eternal life to all humanity. He has done His part to save us from this evil
world. The choice is for us to accept or reject.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that
the world through him might be saved.

When a woman taken in adultery was brought to Jesus by the leaders of the
church, He first addressed the church leaders by saying;
John 8:7 ...“He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.”
He knew that they were as guilty as she was and had no right to condemn her.

11
John 8:9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own
conscience, went out one by one, … and Jesus was left alone, and the woman
standing in the midst.
John 8:10 When Jesus ….. saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman,
where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I
condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Jesus did not come to earth to condemn people but came to save them. Our first
obligation for salvation is to believe in Jesus as the Son of God, but we show
our belief in Jesus by following His words:

“go, and sin no more.”

Man co-operates with God. We confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to
forgive us and to cleanses us from all unrighteousness (sinning against His law).
Our obligation is to “go sin no more.” We choose not to do these evil deeds any
more and trust in the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus for victory over all
sin. (1 John 1:6 -9, Isaiah 1:18)
If we are condemned, it is because we condemn ourselves, by choosing to love
darkness and continuing in our sins rather than accepting His light of truth.
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and
men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Getting back to Job.
Job 40:21 He lieth under the shady trees...," the shady trees" "Lotus tree."

Web. Collegiate Dict. 5th edition; "lotas" : The fruit eaten by the lotas-eaters,
causing indolence and dreamy contentment; Any of several flowering
water plants represented in ancient Egyptian and Hindu art.

"Lotas-eater"; In the Odyssey, one of a people who subsisted on the lotas and
lived in the dreamy indolence it induced.
From www.helium.com is a quote about the lotus tree.
"In the book "The Odyssey", the lotus tree produced fruit that caused the one's
who ate it to become drowsy.....

The fruits from the lotus were narcotic and addictive. Some of the lotus-eaters
would feel drowsy for days after eating the fruit.....Some scholars have found
the lotus having much in common with the opium poppy flower .....It is not
advised for people to feed off of these lotus plants because some can be
dangerous and poisonous to humans."

12
"The people of God are in a condition of slumber... Satan is stealing a
march upon us. .."Those who do not arouse will be passed by..." {Ellen
G. White, Home Missionary, February 1, 1890 par. 4}
This battle is real. Behemoth has many ways to keep not only the people of this
world, but mainly the professed people of God, in a dreamy, drowsy, benumbed
state of mind so they cannot think. He knows that if he can keep them in this
stupor condition, they will not have that relationship and trust in Jesus that is so
very critical for their salvation. If he can keep the minds of the people in an
altered, lethargic state, (and he has multiple ways to do this), then they will not
be able to hear the still small voice of the Holy Spirit calling them to repentance.
They will not stand on the side of truth, for they have not learned to trust in
Jesus, but will follow the deception of the world.
"With many the appetite clamors for the disgusting weed, tobacco, and ale, made
powerful by poisonous, health-destroying mixtures. ... Their debased
appetites call for stronger drink, which has a still more benumbing influence
upon the brain. Thus they give themselves up to every excess, until appetite
holds complete control over the reasoning faculties;...Manhood and
honor are alike sacrificed to appetite. It required time to benumb the
sensibilities of the mind....The indulgence of the appetite .... prepared the
way for every kind of indulgence, until health and intellect were sacrificed
to lust." {Ellen G. White, Review and Herald, June 27, 1899 par. 2}
God is showing us through this study of Behemoth, the dangers of surrendering
our minds and bodies to any other power but Jesus (He has the right as He is not
only our creator, but He bought us back by His blood). Let’s look at just a few of
the things in which Satan can gain access into our mind & life, most in which we
allow.
Anything that is addictive for the body: Drugs of all kinds, narcotics,
alcohol, nicotine, caffeine etc.
“It is by sinful indulgence that men give Satan access to their minds, and they go
from one stage of wickedness to another.” (Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 404, Ellen
G. White)
Foods, drinks and things that benumb the mind and clogs the body:
MSG, food coloring, additives, sugars, overeating, eating between meals,
processed foods, greasy foods, meats and dairy products [poisons and clogs the
digestive system], highly seasoned foods, sickness & disease, chlorinated water,
fluoride, caffeine, etc.
"The mind must be enlightened; for the understanding is darkened just as Satan
would have it to be, because he can find access through perverted
appetite, to debase the soul. . . ." {Ellen G. White, Colporteur Ministry 133.1}
"His (Satan's) temptations are leading multitudes to ruin. Intemperance
dethrones reason; sensual indulgence, strife, and bloodshed follow."
(Spirit of Prophecy, Vol. 4 p. 406, Ellen G. White)

God has written His law upon every nerve and muscle, every fiber and
function of the human body. The indulgence of unnatural appetite, whether
for tea, coffee, tobacco, or liquor, is intemperance, and is at war with the laws of
life and health. By using these forbidden articles a condition of things is
created in the system which the Creator never designed. This indulgence
in any of the members of the human family is sin. . . . The eating of food that does
not make good blood is working against the laws of our physical
organism, and is a violation of the law of God. The cause produces the
effect. Suffering, disease, and death are the sure penalty of
indulgence.-- Letter 123, 1899. {Bible Echo, September 18, 1899 par. 10, Ellen G. White}
Activities which benumbs your mind and soul and distracts you from
your walk with Jesus: T.V, sports, too busy, over worked, not enough sleep,
laziness, parties, up all night, sleep all day, lack of fresh air, exercise, sunshine,
uncontrolled use of computer, (wrong games, movies, music), love of money and
pleasure, love of fashion and display, gambling, etc. (Some of these things are bad
because they are abused and some are just plain destructive. You decide!]
The Quest for Pleasure.--Multitudes are vainly seeking happiness in
worldly amusements. They crave something which they do not have. They are
spending their money for that which is not bread, and their labor for that which
satisfieth not. The hungering, thirsting soul will continue to hunger and thirst as
long as it partakes of these unsatisfying pleasures. O that every such one
would listen to the voice of Jesus, "If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and
drink." Those who drink of the living water will thirst no more for
frivolous, exciting amusements. Christ, the wellspring of life, is the
fountain of peace and happiness. {Ellen G. White, Youth Instructor,
November 6, 1902 par. 1}
Philippians 3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose
glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
This last group is things which destroy the soul: These are the
characteristics of Satan which will not be allowed in the Heavenly Kingdom.
Jesus has made it possible through His atoning blood for our cleansing of these
character defects. We need to surrender them to Him and choose not to continue
in these sins. (Revelation 22:15, 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10, Galatians 5:19-21,
Ephesians 5:3-6, Colossians 3:5-9, 2 Timothy 3:1-5)

Unforgiveness, hatred, anger, bitterness, stubbornness, fear, fantasy, lusts,

deception, arrogance, criticism, accusing others, controlling, quarreling, guilt,
idleness, stealing, mockery, jealousy, envy, evil surmising, greed, self-pity,
intolerance, temper, contention, gossip, self-righteousness, lying, murder, occult,
witchcraft, sorcery, sexual sins of all kinds, pornography, idol worship,
disobedience, careless indifference, cheap conversation, intemperance etc. etc.

"All who indulge sinful traits of character, or willfully cherish a known
sin, are inviting the temptations of Satan. They separate themselves from God
and from the watchcare of His angels; as the evil one presents his
deceptions, they are without defense and fall an easy prey. Those who
thus place themselves in his power little realize where their course will
end. Having achieved their overthrow, the tempter will employ them as his
agents to lure others to ruin. " {Great Controversy, p. 558, 559, Ellen G. White}
"It is a law both of the intellectual and the spiritual nature, that by
beholding, we become changed. The mind gradually adapts itself to the
subjects upon which it is allowed to dwell. (Ellen G. White, Spirit of Prophecy,
Vol. 4 p. 406)
"Satan takes advantage of the weaknesses and defects of character that are
thus revealed, and presses his temptations where there is the least
power of resistance. He makes evil suggestions, and inspires worldly
thoughts, knowing that he can thus bring the soul into condemnation and
bondage. To those who are selfish, worldly, avaricious, proud,
faultfinding, or given to detraction--to all who are cherishing errors
and defects of character--Satan presents the indulgence of self, and leads
the soul off upon a track that the Bible condemns. . . ." {Our High
Calling, page 88 par. 3, Ellen G. White}
Philippians 2:12 …work out your own salvation with fear and
trembling.
Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to
do of his good pleasure.
Philippians 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God,
without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among
whom ye shine as lights in the world;
All these things (and much more) are destroying our body, minds and souls.
Some are more blatant than others, but it does not matter, Satan will use them
to take us down.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the
Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
1 Corinthians 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God

1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the
Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God
in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

exchange for his soul?

More about the "Lotus tree"

Please understand that behemoth has many ways to deceive humanity. He has a
gimmick in his bag of tricks that will attract every type of character. We as
Christians need to be careful and watch for these things. Most of his deceptions
are glossed over and sugared coated, looking so good and innocent.

BEWARE and BE WISE.

If you are familiar with "yoga", you understand that the sitting position for
meditation is called "the lotus position. "
Here is a quote taken from www.minddisorders.com. "The word "yoga" means
"union" or "yoke." The various physical and mental disciplines of yoga
were seen as a method for individuals to attain union with the divine"
(and they are not talking about Jesus Christ). There are basically 4 poses in
hatha yoga which are the tree, cobra, triangle and lotus. The lotus is the
meditative pose. This is when you empty your mind of your thoughts,
and the "divine one" (the enemy of souls) will put his thoughts in your
mind.
The lotus is symbolic of self-cleansing, purity and faithfulness. In these
mystical religions, you become your own saviour.
Remember what God said to Job in chapter 40 verse 14 after he asked him if he
could do any of these marvelous feats which only God could do, but which was
impossible to man.
"If you can do all this Job, Then I myself will praise you that your own right
hand is strong enough to bring your own salvation.
Self-salvation is impossible!
Don't be fooled. Yoga is not just exercise but a form of worship. They admit
that it is for "body, mind and spirit." Anytime you submit your mind to
another being, it is a form of worship, good or bad. Many Christians are caught
up in this deceitful form of idol worship.
Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

2 Corinthians 10:5 ...bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience

of Christ;

16
As Christians, Jesus Christ should be our only Master. If we hold on to any other,
we are committing spiritual adultery.
Matthew 23:10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even
Christ.
Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters:
1 Corinthians 10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of
devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table
of devils.
"There are few who have any just conception of the deceptive power of
Spiritualism and the danger of coming under its influence. Many
tamper with it, merely to gratify their curiosity. They have no real faith in it, and
would be filled with horror at the thought of yielding themselves to the
spirits' control. But they venture upon the forbidden ground, and the mighty
destroyer exercises his power upon them against their will. Let them once be
induced to submit their minds to his direction, and he holds them
captive. It is impossible, in their own strength, to break away from the
bewitching, alluring spell. Nothing but the power of God, granted in
answer to the earnest prayer of faith, can deliver these ensnared
souls." {Great Controversy, 1888 Edition, p. 559, Ellen G. White}
Back to Job 40:21 "in the covert" (to cover, to hide by covering, conceal,
disguise, protection, keep secret).
Remember that this evil principality Behemoth is very cunning, a professional
liar, deceitful to the max, sly, misleading, double-dealing, crafty, tricky, fools
people, hoaxer, mocker etc. This is how he disguises and hides himself from
people in seeing who he really is.
"Satan's plans and devices are soliciting us on every hand. We should ever
remember that he comes to us in disguise, covering his motives and the
character of his temptations. He comes in garments of light, clad apparently
in pure angel robes, that we may not discern that it is he. We need to use
great caution, to closely investigate his devices, lest we be deceived."
{Our High Calling, page 88 par. 2, Ellen G. White}
We must know, recognize, and expose this enemy as he veils his evil fallacy
by mingling truth with very cleverly thought-out error. The counterfeit
looks so real. We cannot afford to be ignorant of his schemes and cleverness of
inventions.
"Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his
devices." [2 Corinthians 2:11.]

"... none need be deceived by the lying claims of Spiritualism. God has
given the world sufficient light to enable them to discover the snare. ..."
(Ellen G. White, Great Controversy, p. 556)

17
We will be bring more to light on the "modern" snares of Satan and the
lying claims of Spiritualism" in the study on "Babylon the Great".
Back to Job 40:21 "of the reed" (as erect); by resemblance a rod. From a root
word meaning "to erect", or create; to procure, to attain, possess, provoke
to jealousy.
Web. Collegiate Dict. 5th edition: "erect"; To build, to raise in rank or esteem;
exalt, To set up or establish. To draw or construct (a perpendicular or

"One often sees the lotus as the throne upon which the Buddha sits.
Here, the Buddha is the symbol of the awakened Mind, which is self-existent,
independent, and self-regenerating." (www.minddisorders.com) [Notice
that the word "Mind" is capitalized?]
Web. Collegiate Dict. 5th edition: "create"; 1. To bring into being; cause to
exist; 2. a. To invest with a new form, office, or character. b. To
produce, form, or bring to pass, by influence over others; as to create
a favorable opinion.
"lotus position - the arrangement of the body and its limbs; "he assumed an
attitude of surrender." (www.thefreedictionary.com/lotus+position)

(The attitude for surrender to God is on your knees with a humble heart!)
Web. Collegiate Dict. 5th edition; "procure"; 1. To bring into possession; to
obtain by any means. 2. To contrive; effect; cause. 3. To obtain for illicit
intercourse or prostitution. (Adulterate / fornication/idolatry)
"Yoga - Hindu discipline aimed at training the consciousness for a state
of perfection, spiritual insight, and tranquility that is achieved through
the three paths of actions and knowledge and devotion".
www.thefreedictionary.com/lotus+position
(Here we see the "three trinity gods"! More on this in "Babylon the Great").
This is idolatry & self-righteousness!! God’s way for his people to receive
spiritual insight is to buy of him his eye salve or discernment of His Holy
Spirit. To receive His perfection is having on the pure white robe of
Christ's righteousness, and tranquility, is gold tried in the fire, having the
faith & love of Jesus.

I believe "in the covert in the reeds" is just another way of saying how cleverly
behemoth is hiding his idols in our life. Any objects or things (this includes
false doctrines, or anything against the commands of God) in which we place our
passionate devotion, loyalty, and homage is an idol. There is only one true
living God is which we should worship. All false gods are idols.

18
Ephesians 4:6 One God and Father of all...
Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Exodus 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness
of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is
in the water under the earth:
Exodus 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the
LORD thy God am a jealous God...(can be provoked to anger)
Exodus 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose
name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
Matthew 6:23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If
therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
(This is Behemoth hiding!)
1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any
man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the
eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
If you believe what God is saying is truth and you feel that the enemy may have
you blinded concerning any idols or gods in you life, please take this seriously
and plead with God to show you what or who it may be as well as any love of
the world in your life that needs to be overcome and cleansed. He alone can open
your eyes and give you the victory through the blood of Jesus Christ.
Psalms 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and
know my thoughts:
Psa 139:24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in
the way everlasting.
Back to Job 40:21 "and fens (a swamp: mire (-ry place) mud

Web. Collegiate Dict. 5th edition, "Mire" Bog, deep mud, slush. (a) To cause to
stick fast in or as in mire; hence to entangle or involve. (b) To soil with mud
or foul matter. To sink or stick in mire.
From www.thefreedictionary.com/lotus+position
"The lotus produces a beautiful flower even with its roots in the dirtiest
water. The symbolism is that a person can rise above being rooted in the
ugliness and suffering of this world, and should try to be pure and help
others with the beauty of the spirit". "Lotus yoga - in our practice, the soul
rises like a lotus above muddy waters."

This is self-righteousness, believing that a person can change his ugly, sinful,
dirty life into a beautiful and pure character by himself. This is the point that God

19
was showing to Job, that he could not save himself by all his righteous ways and
good works, that God alone had the solution to the lost sinful condition of
humanity.
Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as
filthy rags..
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
We are saved through grace and our faith in the atoning blood of Christ but our
faith is shown by our good works. So what are "good works"? Good works or
obedience to the will (commands) of our Heavenly Father, is the fruit of our
faith and love.
1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his
commandments.
1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his
commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1 John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God
perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
John 10:32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you
from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is
in heaven.
What is the will of God?
Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may
have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
In the act of God showing Job that his own righteousness and good works could
not save him, just illustrated in a very profound way his desperate need of a
Saviour. God did not indicate to Job in the slightest that because he was in need a
Saviour that it would now be in vain for him to continue to live a righteous life
(keeping God's commands) and doing good works. A thousands times NO!
James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is
dead?
James 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was
faith made perfect?
James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without
works is dead also.

From this time forward Job's spiritual life just improved. He never stopped
worshiping and obeying his Heavenly Father and doing righteous works. After

20
Job prayed for his three friends who condemned him in his trials (love for his
fellow man), the Lord bless him.
Job 42:10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his
friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
Job 42:12 So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning:
This trial was just a spiritual growth experience for Job, another rung in the
ladder of sanctification.
Back to Behemoth in Job 40:22
"The shady trees" (the lotus tree)

"cover (to entwine as a screen; cover over, protect: - defense, defend)

"him with their shadow" (hovering over, to shade, as twilight or an opaque
object: - begin to be dark, shadowing) H6754; root meaning to shade; a phantom,
illusion, resemblance; hence a representative figure, especially an idol: -
image, vain shew)
"Satan's step is noiseless, his movements stealthy, and his batteries
masked. He does not venture to show himself openly, lest he arouse
the Christian's dormant energies and send him to God in prayer."
{Maranatha, page 60 par. 5, Ellen G. White}
"the willows" to braid, that is, intermix; technically to traffic (as if by
barter); also to give or be security (as a kind of exchange): - engage,
(inter-) meddle (with), mingle (self), mortgage, occupy, give pledges,
be (-come, put in) surety, undertake;
Ezekiel 28:4 With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten
thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures:
Ezekiel 28:5 By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy
riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:
In the study of scripture you will find that there is the physical, which covers the
literal, financial and political side of life, and the mental or spiritual, which covers
the religious side of life. In the final few verses of this chapter, we will touch on
the financial area in which both, Behemoth and Leviathan, have entangled the
people of the world. The spiritual or prophetic side of these verses, we will cover
in the follow-up study of Mystery Babylon the Great.

The practice of credit or borrowing money is not a good policy. It violates

scripture.
Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another…

Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance puts it this way; “Owe to no one, no not

anything, nothing at all.”

21
Why does the Bible speak so strongly against borrowing?
Proverbs 22:7 The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the
lender.
Borrowing produces bondage or enslavement to the lender or creditor. God wants
His people free from earthly entanglements in order to serve Him.
2 Timothy 2:4 No man that warreth (to serve in a military campaign)
entangleth (entwine, involve) himself with the affairs (transaction,
negotiation) of this life; that he may please him (God) who hath chosen
him to be a soldier (warrior).
Money is necessary for life but the love of money is covetousness and the root
of all evil. Satan has set the bait of the “credit (covet) trap” (breaking the 10th
Commandment of God) to appeal to the selfish feelings and human pride. He
sweetens it with the lust and desire of “things”, rather then purchasing needful
items which in most cases, could have been paid for without incurring debt.
1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money (fond of silver (money), that is, avaricious:
- covetous) is the root of all evil (injurious: - bad, evil, harm, ill): which while
some coveted after (long for, desire), they have erred from the faith (stray
from truth), and pierced themselves through with many sorrows (grief,
to sink, to go “down”).
Ecclesiastes 5:10 He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver;
nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
1 Timothy 6:9 But they that will be rich (seek after) fall into temptation
(adversity) and a snare (trap), and into many foolish (unintelligent) and
hurtful (injurious) lusts (desires, set the heart upon, long for (rightfully or
otherwise, especially for what is forbidden), which drown (begin to sink) men
in destruction (to destroy; ruin, punishment) and perdition (ruin or loss
(physical, spiritual or eternal): - damnable (-nation)
THE BREAKING OF ANY OF GOD’S COMMANDS BRINGS A CURSE UPON
THE VIOLATER. IT IS A LAW, JUST LIKE THE LAW OF GRAVITY.

If you step of the cliff, you are going down. There are consequences to pay for
breaking a law. Whatever nation or individual who builds their economy or
finances upon borrowing or credit, and continues to do so, they find themselves
drowning in credit card debt and high interest loans, sinking in the mucky mire
of inflation, bankruptcy, mortgages, foreclosures, and ultimately the loss of
freedom. This is the plan of the enemy. He hates freedom and want all the people
of the world under his command and as his slaves.
What is God’s council to us regarding these things?

1 Timothy 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after
righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

22
We are to seek for the true riches which lead to eternal life.
Matthew 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What
shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Matthew 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly
Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Christians should be content with what God has given them and not seek or have
their selfish hearts set on the riches or things of this world.
1 Timothy 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can
carry nothing out.
1 Timothy 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If
any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the
eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1 John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that
doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
“Be determined never to incur another debt. Deny yourself a thousand things
rather than run in debt. This has been the curse of your life, getting into
debt. Avoid it as you would the smallpox.” {Ellen G. White, Counsels on
Stewardship, page 257 par. 1}
Remember that having money or even being rich is not a sin. It is the motive or
reason in which you desire money and how you use it, which determines what is
in your heart. The question is; Do you make money an idol or is it just a tool to
live by? Money can either be used as a blessing or a curse to your soul.
"of the brook" a stream, especially a winter torrent; also a shaft (of a mine):
flood, river)

"compass him about" (to revolve, surround or border).

"Satan beguiles men now as he beguiled Eve in Eden by flattery, by kindling a
desire …by exciting ambition for self-exaltation. It was cherishing these
evils that caused his (man’s) fall, and through them he (Satan) aims to
compass the ruin of men.” {Great Controversy page 544, Ellen G. White}

Every day thousands of people are consumed by this monster. People sell their
souls because of their love of money, while others become his slaves through
debt. Behemoth keeps people totally surrounded with things that pollute and

23
destroys them. Lust of the eyes, smooth fables and false doctrines for the ears,
forbidden fruit for the mouth, luring fragrant smells and sensual pleasures for
body and a rebellious, uncircumcised, and selfish heart for the soul. He has a
tailored made, neatly wrapped gift for every soul that is willing to take the bait.
Once hooked, they find themselves slowly sinking down into the swampy, slimly,
mire of sin. Finding it impossible to get out on their own, they realize that certain
death will be their fate. Suddenly they are gripped with fear, guilt, anxiety,
depression, and hopelessness. But there is hope …..

THE ONLY WAY OUT IS JESUS:

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches
in glory by Christ Jesus.
Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny
himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
This next question is one each of us has to answer for ourselves.
Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole
world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in
exchange for his soul?
I see these last two verses as prophecy taking place before our eyes.
Job 40:23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he
can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
Job 40:24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
Job 40:23 "Behold (lo! Pay attention as this is important!), he drinketh up" to
press upon, that is, oppress, defraud, violate, overflow: - (to) get
deceitfully, deceive, (use) oppression], -or), do violence (wrong) quarrel,
strive with)
Web. Collegiate Dict. 5th edition; "oppress"
1. To crush; trample; overpower.
2. To burden spiritually as if with weights;
3. To crush, burden, or trample down by abuse of power or
authority; to treat with unjust rigor or with cruelty.
defraud: to cheat, deprive of some right, interest or property.
violate: to infringe on, to break or disregard, as a promise, abuse.

"a river"( figuratively, prosperity: successful progress).

"and hasteth not": to start up suddenly)

24
"he trusteth" be confident or sure: - be bold, secure)

"that he can draw up"; to gush forth (as water), generally to issue: - break
forth, labor to bring forth, come forth, draw up, take out)
"Jordan" (a descender; from root word H3381; to descend (literally to go
downwards, to fall); causatively to bring down, sink, subdue)
"into" (with)
"his mouth" (speech); according to: command (-ment), sentence, word.
Slowly over the years this mammoth beast has been moving in the dark without
much notice of the sleeping, drugged induced people with their happy feelings of
false security. By violation and defraud through the abuse of power, he is now
bringing oppression and crushing the people with heavy burdens, by taking
away their prosperity and religious freedoms, treating them with
unjust rigor and cruelty. He has no fear that his well laid trap will not succeed
for he is very confident and sure that through the power of his word he will
bring down or cause to fall the spiritual and financial prosperity of
this mighty nation and of the world.
Job 40:24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
“He taketh” (carry away, seize)
"it with his eyes" (figuratively) affliction)
his "nose" (from H599; to breathe hard, that is, be enraged: - be angry (displeased)
"pierceth" (to puncture, literally (to perforate, with more or less violence) or
figuratively (to specify, designate, libel): - appoint, blaspheme, bore, curse,
express, with holes, name, strike through)
"through snares" (H4170; a noose, a hook (for the nose): - be ensnared, trap;
from root word H3369; to ensnare (literally or figuratively): - fowler (lay a) snare.

Through the affliction of the great loss of our freedoms, possessions and
livelihood bring grief, misery and distress to all, it will cause much anger and
disturbance among the people. This is just a trap or snare to make new laws and
to bring a libel against the people. What is a libel?
Web. Collegiate Dict. 5th edition: Libel:
1. A handbill circular...defaming a person.
2. Loosely, any defamatory statement, oral or in writing.
3. Any statement or representation, published without just cause or excuse, or by
pictures, effigies, or other signs, tending to expose another to public
hatred, contempt or ridicule.

Every day there is posted in newspapers, on bulletin boards, in magazines, on the

internet, the names of businesses and individuals who are in foreclosures,

25
bankruptcies, judgments, lawsuits, etc. This defames and brings shame and
causes ridicule and contempt. It causes divorces, suicides and ruins lives and
families. It even brings down mighty nations. The United States is bankrupt and
is looked upon with contempt, ridicule and hatred by the rest of the world.
With Protestant America leading the way, the deceptive and carefully laid
financial snares of Behemoth was the debt trap of false prosperity through
borrowing and living beyond one's means, as we blindly raced on out of control.
Now that millions are in slavery to this indebtedness, he swallows or dries up the
false prosperity and the reality of this mammoth bondage is staring
everyone in the face.
"Money will soon depreciate in value very suddenly when the reality of
eternal scenes opens to the senses of man." { True Missionary, January 1, 1874 par. 10, Ellen G. White}
I’m not sure that the reality of eternal scenes has yet opened to the senses of man
as Satan still has many believing (not only the people of the world but professing
Christians) that things are going to get better, that the financial dilemma will be
solved and that life will continue on as usual. People are betting on the outcome,
hoping and believing that tomorrow they will still have a job to pay their bills.
Professed Christians continue to spend the little bit of money they have left on
selfish desires rather than on advancing God’s kingdom by getting the truth out
to the deceived and dying. It is the enemy of souls that makes Professed
Christians feel secure because of the false belief that they are saved because of
what they believe, but God has a very severe warning to such a belief.
Revelation 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would
thou wert cold or hot.
Revelation 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I
will spue thee out of my mouth.
Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods,
and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art
wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in
Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. …
Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the
flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually
minded is life and peace.
Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: ….

Romans 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Romans 8:9 ….Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
(He will spew that person out of His mouth)

Romans 8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live
after the flesh.
Romans 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through
the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of
God.
The following quotes basically cover and wrap up all that we have been sharing
on “Covetousness” especially for the professed Christians of Protestant
America,
“…Satan bade his angels lay their snares especially for those who were looking for
Christ's second appearing and keeping all the commandments of God. Satan told
his angels that the churches were asleep. He would increase his power and lying
wonders, and he could hold them. ….

Go, make the possessors of lands and money drunk with cares. If you can make
them place their affections upon these things, we shall have them yet. They may
profess what they please, only make them care more for money than for the
success of Christ's kingdom. ...

Present the world before them in the most attractive light, that they may love and
idolize it. We must keep in our ranks all the means of which we can gain control.
The more means the followers of Christ devote to His service, the more will they
injure our kingdom by getting our subjects.

…Be very vigilant then. Cause disturbance and confusion if possible. Destroy love
for one another. …Present every plausible excuse to those who have means, lest
they hand it out. Control the money matters if you can, …Battle every inch of
ground. Make covetousness and love of earthly treasures the ruling traits of their
character. As long as these traits rule, salvation and grace stand back.

Crowd every attraction around them, and they will be surely ours. And not only
are we sure of them, but their hateful influence will not be exercised to lead
others to heaven. When any shall attempt to give, put within them a grudging
disposition, that it may be sparingly." {Ellen G. White, Early Writings page 266,
277}
"When the professed people of God are uniting with the world, living as
they live, and joining with them in forbidden pleasure; when the
luxury of the world becomes the luxury of the church; when the
marriage bells are chiming, and all are looking forward to many years of
worldly prosperity--then, suddenly as the lightning flashes from the
heavens, will come the end of their bright visions and delusive hopes."
{Ellen G. White, Great Controversy page 338, 339 [1911 edition]}

What is God's council to us?
Luke 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be
overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this
life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
Luke 21:35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face
of the whole earth.
Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted
worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand
before the Son of man.
1 Corinthians 16:13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men,
be strong.
1 Thessalonians 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us
watch and be sober.
If we as Christians truly believe that Jesus is coming soon, then we will show it by
how and what we spend our money and time on. Satan will whisper in our ears
that we could be wrong in interpreting the signs of Christ’s second coming and
that we could still have many years left. He wants us to relax and go back to
sleep. If we do this, we are gambling with our salvation.
1 Thessalonians 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day (the
day of the Lord’s coming) should overtake you as a thief.
1 Thessalonians 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the
day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
We need to make our calling and election sure and be about our Father’s
business.

The day is soon coming in which God will destroy Behemoth, the mammoth beast
of deception, and Leviathan, the fierce, destructive, sea monster. Until then, we
must daily dress for war with the whole armor of God. This war is real.
We cannot slumber or sleep nor lay our swords down. We must press
this war to the gate of the kingdom. - - - -A watchman on the wall .... lynette
We Are Living, We Are Dwelling

We are living, we are dwelling, in a grand and awful time,

In an age on ages telling-- to be living is sublime.
Hark! the waking up of nations, Gog and Magog to the fray;
Hark! what soundeth? Is creation Groaning for her latter day?

Christian, rouse and arm for conflict, nerve thee for the battlefield;
Bear the helmet of salvation, and the mighty gospel shield;
Let the breastplate, peace, be on thee, take the Spirit's sword in hand;
Boldly, fearlessly, go forth then, in Jehovah's strength to stand.

28
Wicked spirits gather round thee Legions of those foes of God.
Principalities most mighty, walk unseen the earth abroad.
They are gathering to the battle strengthened for the last great strife,
Christian, arm, be watchful, ready, struggle manfully for life.

And the prince of evil spirits, great deceiver of the world!

He who at the blessed Jesus once his deadly weapons hurled,
Cometh with unwonted power, knowing that his reign will cease
When the kingdom shall be given to the mighty Prince of Peace.

Christians, rouse! fight in this warfare, cease not till the victory's won;
Till your Captain loud proclaimeth, "Servant of the Lord, well done!"
He, alone, who thus is faithful, who abideth to the end,
Hath the promise, in the kingdom an eternity to spend.

A Wall Like Jericho

It was a cold dark desert night, the commander faced the wall, with no way
open, no weakness found,
It was wall no earthly army could bring down.
"Oh Lord", he cried, "I have no place to go",
then an Angel came with a message from the Lord and said,
"Joshua march around the wall, Joshua see my name exalted, and you'll
see the wall come down, yes, you'll see the wall come down."
I built a wall like Jericho, with a hedge around the will, mortared will pride
the heart holds ground, even my best laid plans couldn't bring it down.
"My child", He said, "receive my grace, you've sought my doctrines well,
now seek my face."
Child of mine, march around the wall, child of mine see my name exalted,
and you'll see the wall come down, yes, you'll see the wall come down,
YES, YOU’LL SEE THE WALL COME DOWN!!
