NOUNS

Nouns are things we can touch, see, feel,


hear or taste
Eg. football, birds, love, music, sweet
NOUNS
 Look around you. In one minute, write
down as many nouns as possible
PRONOUNS
Sometimes we do not want to repeat a noun.
We then use a word to replace the noun.
These words are called pronouns
Eg. he, she, it, they, them, we, us
PRONOUNS
Pick out the pronouns in the story below

Goldilocks was a nosy girl. One day she saw a large


house in a dark forest. It was a beautiful house
and Goldi decided to enter it. She didn’t even
bother to knock but walked in boldly. There she
saw a wooden table with three bowls of soup. She
tasted the delicious soup in all three bowls and
finished the smallest bowl. Then she decided to
take a nap, and broke the small bed.
DETERMINERS
Before the nouns we sometime read words
like:
the, a, an, some, this, that
These are called determiners
VERBS
Words which describe an action, or mention
feelings and conditions.
