STUDENT SELECTION CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION INTO THE NURSING PROGRAM

Students applying to the OSU Institute of Technology Nursing Program are selected based on a point system. Points are awarded
for a score on the reading and math portion of the Kaplan NCLEX Admission Test, completion of support courses with a “C” or
better, 50% completion of OSU Institute of Technology course work, and GPA. If any general education courses are not
completed by application deadline, they will not be considered. The specific points awarded are shown below.

In case of numerous students with the same number of points (tie), the Nursing Application Committee will review only students that have
completed all three science courses and calculate their science GPA – minimum of 12 credits for the tie breaker.
