ADVANTAGES OF HAVING A FIXED NUMBER OF SUBJECTS FOR STUDENTS

DURING PUBLIC EXAMINATION

Start from 2010, all the students who takes public examination must fixed
number of subjects. Public examination include Penilaian Menengah Rendah
(PMR),and Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM). This is because some student and
parents complaint about the amount of subject that must be taken during
examination. So, teh government make decision that all the student need to having a
fixed number of subjects during public examination. There are many advantages
from this policy.

First, student can concentrate more on subject that they take in public
examination. For example, if they take less subject, the more time they can spend to
do the revision all the subject and keep focus. Student can score better mark
compare than if they take may subject for examniation.

Second, the advantages is teacher also can spend more time with the student
during teaching session. This is because student have less subject to concentrate
and that makes teacher easier to teach certain subject such as mathematics that
need a lot of tutorial from the teacher. This is because mathematics subject cannot
been study only by book but also through teacher tutorial.

Third, student can relax more when they take less subject. They can go social
activities such as playing football, shopping, fishing and many more. It can make the
student more creative thinking and do not always think about study. Student who are
always study and do not have social activities will affect their future. This is because
when they have ended their school life, they cannot interact with other people
because since they do not have social skills.

As a coclusion, having a fixed number of subjects for students during public

examination give more positive impact than negative impact for the students. I think
government should carry on with this policy.
