Lawmakers led by Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Jr. (2nd from right) and
Deputy Speaker Erin Tañada, graced the launching of the Kabuhayan
Travelling Exhibit under the auspices of the Fair Trade Alliance. The traveling
gallery of selected photos capture the country's achievements in ensuring
the active role of the marginalized and vulnerable communities in the local
economic development in support of, not only the economic goals, but in
promoting cultural and social rights of individuals and nations as enshrined in
the UN Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (UNCESR). Also
shown are Party-list Bayan Muna Rep. Teddy Casiño, chairman of Committee
on Small Enterprises and Entrepreneurship Development and Rep. Albert
Raymond Garcia (Committee on Trade and Industry) who both vowed to
pursue and support legislative reforms under Speaker Belmonte promoting
fair trade and community-based entrepreneurship.
