Haunted House Season II at OC Ipoh campus

Enthusiastic from the good response of the initial Haunted House event, Olympia College Ipoh’s Cyber
Club and Executive Business Club organized Haunted House, Season II on June 19 2010, from 12.30 to
8:30 pm.

For a second time, Olympia College, Ipoh campus was transformed into a haunted house. There was a
Zombie Room, The Graveyard, Infected Hospital, the Red Ghost Room, Dark Forest and The Missing
Ghost Room. There was also a coffin with a mummy inside and Count Dracula, a headless ghost and a
lady in white was seen wandering in the corridors.

Timed to coincide with the semester break, about 30 club members and other students came to the
college for 3 days to do the decorating, sometimes even till late to get the atmosphere just right. It was
a massive task to decorate each room as per the theme, and jars and jars of ‘blood’ were prepared.
Students were made- up and dressed to look their parts from 8.00am in the morning and by noon, the
‘ghosts’ were ready to do their jobs of scaring people.

Students of the Cyber Club actively promoted the event to secondary schools, tuition centres and
colleges in Ipoh and the response was overwhelming. About 120 people turned up and paid a fee of RM
8 to go in the Haunted House and be scared out of their wits. About 80% of the participants were
outsiders and some even brought their parents.

A guide was assigned to lead each group of maximum 3 participants to walk round the haunted house.
Screams could be heard from the lobby, and some participants even emerged frightened and cried. The
feedback was this year’s Haunted House was more scary and more horrifying than the previous one.

Both clubs shared the profits that amounted to about RM 500. Club members, especially the ‘ghosts’
were tired from scaring so many people but everyone had so much fun.
