High School Desktop Publishing using PageMaker/InDesign

Theme: Kumusta ka, Ilog Pasig? Gather information about the current state of Ilog Pasig. The newsletter should contain photos and activities of different organizations and local government units in reviving the life of Ilog Pasig.

Technical Specifications: 1. Contestants must use only Adobe PageMaker or Adobe InDesign in creating their final newsletter layout. 2. The newsletter should have four (4) pages of two (2) sheets. Consisting of: a. Two (2) News page news articles about the efforts made by government and private agencies to revive Ilog Pasig b. One (1) Editorial page commentary regarding state of Ilog Pasig c. One (1) Features page story about an organization or individual who has contributed to the revival of Ilog Pasig 3. Size of the printed newsletter shall be 8 in. x 11 in. in portrait orientation. 4. All information and photos to be included in the newsletter will be gathered by the contestant and brought during the contest proper. And all sources of information should be attributed properly in the newsletter. 5. For typography, use a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 5 fonts. 6. Design an original nameplate containing the: a. Name of the newsletter, b. Possibly a graphic image or logo (need not be an original design), c. May also include a subtitle, motto or public information. 7. Tasteful application of special effect(s). 8. No marks to identify the region or school of the contestant are to be placed in the newsletter.

Reminder: Evaluation of the newsletter will be based primarily on the application of graphic layout skills and document solution applied by the contestant.
Time Limit: One and a half (1.5) hours. Timer starts and stops upon signal of contest organizer.
