REMINDER TO THOSE WHO USE FOUL LANGUAGE

Salam,
The tongue is a blessing among countless blessings vouchsafed us by Allaah Almighty,
and its main function is to mirror Allaahs praises, give thanks, and spray
benedictions. A true servant of AllaahulAzeez is expected to remember Him day in
day out insofar as his tongue remains moist with Allaahs recountal (dzikr). The best
liturgy, said the holy Prophet, is the testimony (kalimah) laa ilaaha illAllaah which,
in real, is a pledge to serve Allaah and shun associationism (Shirk). Contrastingly,
swearing and abuse (gaali galoch) is kalimah of Shaytaan, consequently, one who
adopts foul language not only complices with the Devil but also dishonors his pledge
with Allaah, Most high. Hence, it ought be kept in mind that whilst a person speaks
Satanic swearing and remains persistent thereon, he in fact disowns the testimony
(kalimah) and realistically has little to do with religion inasmuch as the tongue serves
as it were a key to the qalb: if in heart resides light of imaan; the tongue shall sing
praises of Rahmaan, but if the heart be tainted with dirt; it has little choice but obey
the Accursed.
Indeed, Iblis was the first to revile man (Adam). To abuse and slander means being
selfish and haughty: a state of mind wherein one is left in denial of truth. Such was
conduct of Iblis as he aimed to undermine and tarnish Adam repute who was
comparatively - in Satans shortsightedness - an inferior being (bashar); discounting
the fact that this mortal (bashar) also resembled or reflected Allaahs soul being
made in His image as is described in Hadith. Nevertheless, it was Ibliss disrespect of
man that got him in trouble and it was his defamatory, disparaging, un-tamed toungue
that earned him eternal damnation.
Whereas, those who remain loyal to their pledge (kalimah) and pursue Allaah
extolment neer colligate course of the Cursed. Hence, it is requested that readers;
brothers and sisters shun foul language (gaali galoch), and if not: be willing to give up
the testimony (kalimah): for kalimaat of Rahmaan and swearing of Shaytaan cannot
co-exist. And if it not be possible then it is binding upon you to never again revile,
abuse, slander, curse, malign, Muslims and non-Muslims, fellow men and women,
elders and children, friends or foe; be they irritative or even repulsive: for the Allaahu
l-Azeeez has stated:

There are several ahadith to that effect since Allaahs final Messenger Muhammad
came to perfect moral character [Malik].
Jarir b. AbduAllaah narrated from the holy Prophet: Allaah has no mercy on him
who is not merciful to men [Bukhari].
Abu Hurairah narrated from the noble Apostle: He who believeth in Allaah and the
Reckoning ought speak good and observe silence [Muslim].
Allaahs Prophet taught: The most perfect of the believers in faith is the best of
them in moral excellence, and the best of you are the kindest of you to their wives
[Tirmidzi].
AbduAllaah b. Amr said, Allaahs Apostle was vilifier nor abusive, rather taught:
The best among you are the best in character (manners) [Bukhari].
Abu Dharr heard the holy Prophet as saying: A Man does not accuse another of
being a transgressor (fasiq), nor does he accuse him of being a disbeliever (kafir), but
it (the epithet) comes back to him if his companion is not such [Ibid].
From Thabit b. Dhahhaak, the Messenger said: ...And Whosoever curses a believer,
it is as though he slew him; and whosoever accused a believer of disbelief, (gravity of
his sin) is as if he killed him [Ibid].
Anas b. Malik said, the holy Prophet was not a reviler, nor foul in speech, nor a
curser; to reprove one of us he would say: What is the matter with him - may his
forehead abound with dust [Ibid].
Abdullah b. Amr b. Aas relates the Messengers statement: Reviling ones parents
is one of the severest sins The Companions nearby inquired: Messenger of Allaah!
Does a man abuse his parents too? The holy Prophet replied: Yes; One reviles the
father of another man, who - in turn - abuses his father; One abuses the others
mother, who - returning the abuse - reviles his mother [Muslim].
