AEI 504.22 1
Recap

We discussed about implementation of

pneumatic controller modes

AEI 504.22 2
Objectives

On the completion of this topic, you would be able to know

• Implementation of proportional controller modes using op-

amp.

AEI 504.22 3
Two Position Controller using Op-Amp

R2

V1

AEI 504.22 4
Two position controller

• Input signal with ‘ON’ voltage VH

• Input signal with ‘OFF’ voltage VL

• Comparator output Vo switches states, when voltage V1 is

equal to set point value Vsp

AEI 504.22 5
The high (ON) switch voltage is

VH = Vsp

The low (OFF) switch voltage is

VL = Vsp – ( R1/ R2 ) Vo

Electronic proportional controller
The output voltage is

Vout = Gp Ve + Vo

Vout = out voltage

Gp = R2 / R1 = gain

Ve = error voltage

Vo = output with zero error

Vout = output voltage

GD = R2 C = Derivative time in seconds

Ve = error voltage
