• An Expert system is also known as a knowledge based
system.

• An Expert system is a software system that incorporates

concepts derived from experts in a field and uses their
knowledge to provide problem analysis to the users of
the software.

• Expert system comes under the category of Artificial

Intelligence (AI) .

• Provides consistent answers for repetitive decisions,
processes and tasks.
