Centralization:

 Where the clerical activities of all the departments

are done at one central point, then it is known as
Centralization of office services.

 Under Centralization, office functions and services

are grouped into one servicing unit under unified
control.

Centralization (Contd.):

 In centralization all the office services i.e. recording,

communicating etc., are carried on in the central
office and managed by the General Manager

 The other departments have not to do any office

work

Centralization may be

1. Physical

2. Functional

Physical Centralization:

 In this case all the paper work is done by the

central office.
 Complete centralization of office is not
possible in a large concern

Functional Centralization:

 In this case the departmental work is carried on

by the departmental manager

 In the matter of general policy, it is the central

office which is supreme
