AEZIO (Another EZIO for macromedia director)

EZIO is an input/output interface board for macromedia authorware Director 7, 8, MX, ... This EZIO was originally developed in EZIO.com (http://www.ezio.com). It is widely used by Mac and PC users both and can be purchased for $179.00 in US. Interactive installation artists already used the EZIO board, Macromedia Director, and Mac in US. But now here in Korea, the circumstance changed. Because we Korean are more familiar to PC than Mac, I decided to move working environment to PCs. Also, sometimes we need more analog sensor input channels than that of EZIO which provides only 8 max. That's why I designed this AEZIO (Another EZIO). AEZIO is an alternative for EZIO, which has almost the same specification with original EZIO unless it has 19 analog sensor input channels and USB interface. Of course, the power is supplied from the PC via USB cable. The microcontroller is changed by ATmega 64/103/128 and independent ADC TI545 is adopted for 19-channel inputs. Up to now, I don't use a standalone USB controller itself for USB interface, but only provide a USB A/B connector and RS232 connector on my AEZIO PCB which can be used with a commercial USB-serial converter cable. Because that's much cheaper than my own designed solution. For the software interface for AEZIO with Director, there are no change in protocol between EZIO and AEZIO. Therefore you can use the original Xtra itself. But I myself programmed another version of EZIO Xtra in PC for an efficient operation and USB-serial converter cable. When I checked the original EZIO Xtra with USB-serial converter, it didn't work. Basic information for programming environment is from Ben Chang's website (http://www.artic.edu/~bchang/ezio/) and Macromedia's (http://www.macromedia.com/). Now all you have to do is to connect AEZIO to PC with a USB cable. 19 analog sensor input channels are provided, and you don't need any wallet adapter for supplying power to AEZIO.
