Sponsor a child in Uganda

Why is it important to help children?
Around 98% of the children enrol for primary school in Uganda, but only 56% finish the 7 years of primary school. Many parents cannot afford to pay the school fees to complete Primary education. Also, many families cannot afford the higher secondary school fees. Currently only 22% of children are able to attend secondary school, mainly due to lack of fees. Primary Education costs around $ 120 a year, a total of $ 840 for a complete primary education. Secondary Education, which takes 6 years, costs $ 300 a year. These amounts cover tuition fees, school uniform and essential books.

How can you help these children?

To help a child, you can contact Ensi Women Organization directly at info@ensiwomen.org and we will provide details on how you can help. In the United States, you may also contact Ensis representative Cicy Bennett at usa@ensiwomen.org. Cicy is a strong supporter of development initiatives in Uganda. Every contribution is appreciated however small it is! You also have the option to sponsor a child. When you sponsor a child, we send you a photograph of your sponsored child and regular information about the childs performance in school.

We thank you in advance for your interest and your help

In 2012, Ensi will launch a project at Koi Koi Village, a cultural center in Fort Portal, Tooro in western Uganda. This education project will use new technology to help children learn better. Children will learn how to use computers and educational programs to improve their performance in essential subjects such as English, Math and Science. The Center will also run competitions among schools to help raise education standards as many rural schools lack good teachers. If you would like to get involved in this exciting project contact us at info@ensiwomen.org or visit www.ensiwomen.org.
