INTRODUCTION TO ICE-CREAM INDUSTRY


Ice-cream industry technically encompasses ice-cream made from milk as per government of India definition icecream, made from vegetable FAT any item. Other than milk are not to be considered frozen desserts. Ice-cream is a value added dairy product of ice-cream industry. Due to the entry of multinational companies, the markets are likely to expand to folds in the future year. Yet now been developed fully in eastern countries as that of western world. Due to the competent technology, ample crouches and efficient management of multinational company have dominated the market share in ice-cream industry in India. India is an agriculture base country because of large number of chattels and large milk production. Most of the dairy and ice-cream industries have developed in India because of large milk production and hence India is well known in the world. Ice-cream industry has brought a magnificent chance in the rural economy as it provides employment to the marginal former. Today, the competition in ice-cream industry is very large. The players in their game of competition are Amul, Kwality walls, Vadilal, Havmor,

Dairy Den etc. as ice-cream has been a regular addible item its consumption is more. In 1983 Indian government issued a control policy over, the ice-cream industry in which the certain price level were fixed. The successful competition of this millennium not only enterprise but also sound management in effectively managing their international business process to create and deliver the devious customer value at least possible cost.

INTRODUCTION TO HAVMOR
Havmor is an experience, which has been successful gunning last 58 years. In other words Havmor can be described a co-operation. The management chose the brand name Havmor for its product change in 1944. The brand name Havmor means to HAVE MORE. Havmor is the oldest ice-cream manufacturing unit. It was establish before independence. It was establish in the year 1944. Since then the unit has never looked back. It has been processing by leaps and bounds though there were some problems, but in the 58 year running it was counted a good name for itself in the local market. This unit though oldest just operators within the broadens of Gujarat. It has a good market share in the state along with its competitors. It has also stood the fierce competition form, MNCS like baslcin gobbins, Dairy den etc. and also from local industries like Amul, Vadilal and Kwality walls. Havmor ice-cream was launched in India way back in 1944 by me Satishchandra Chona. In 1994, Mr.Satishchandra Chona suddenly put breaks on his successful, career as a ground Engineer with BOAC and turned into an entrepreneur. This came as a surprise to most of his colleges and friends. But the biggest surprise was the product he chose to manufacture ice-cream. Then the

partition of India happened and he had to relocate his venture. The first stop was Dehra Dun next came Indore and finally he took his ice-cream business to Ahmedabad. Today Havmor is popular house hold in Gujarat. It reaches hundreds of thousands of consumer through 12 restaurants, fast food & parlors on Relief Road, Navrangpura, Panchvati, Rajpath, Vijay Satellite, Vastrapore Lake, Thaltej, Gallops, Municipal Market, Bopal and Baroda and over 5000-dealer across Gujarat. The modern ice-cream factory in Naroda work I sync with demand. Havmor has a state of art bakery too. The main highlight of Havmor food Pvt.Ltd. is best quality at consumable price. This has been their formulas to success. They have means made a compromise on name of quality. The main objective of this enterprise is to provide maximum satisfaction and welfare to employee by providing those fair wages and other facilities to create a healthy industrial collation. The other objective is to earn profit by fulfillment social objectives.

THE STORY OF HAVMOR


Havmor began in the 1944 at first in Karachi to a lorry at Kalupur, Ahmedabad in the year 1955, now it is considered to be one of the favorite ice-cream brands today. It all began with Havmor founder Shri Satishchandra Chona on his visit to his uncle, Shri Dinanath Chona of carry home, Ice-cream in Karachi. He learn the art of icecream making, he took the initiative of learning how to mix the best ingareduts in the right quantity, experimental with selling and other innovation that were popular in Pakistan. Shri Satishchandra Chona left Pakistan along with wife Shri Nirmal Chona in 1948 and reached Ahmedabad via Dehradun and Indore. The founder began the Havmor legend in Ahmedabad on the slogan ACHHAI, SACOHHI, SAFAI. By 1953, the founder buys a place on Relief Road on the condition to serve only vegetarian food and coined the name Havmor for a quality product that offers vale for money. Earlier in house bakery items and ice-cream making was done at Relief road with expansion, Havmor held icecream factory at Naroda. With outlets at Navrangpura, Panchvati, Relief Road, Vijay Charrasta in Ahmedabad and Baroda after graduation, Mr. Pradip Chona joined business fulfillment in 1974. Mrs. Rekha Chona learnt secret formula used in mixing the emulsifies and stabilizer in icecream and standardize the message for snacks from in laws.

She is also a part of business master Anil and Miss Rita will be the next in line to carry on the Havmor name if they wish.

GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

After the establishment in 1944 in Karachi the company has progressed nicely because of some seasons but had earned a good selling. Its annual turnover is RS.60 crores. The main thing is to be noted is that it has 150 different varieties of flavors and ice-cream. These are also research & development in company. The company is producing or making 3 new flavors in every three months, its excellent their minimum product is 40 ML and maximum of 4 litters. As unemployment is main problem of our country it provides employment to 200 workers in a single manufacturing unit. Although this profit is less i.e. 25 they provide some amount of donation to blind man association the distribute their products very nicely throughout the state.

PRODUCTION DETAILS
Production means to convert the resources or wealth obtained from nature in to production. Which can satisfies human needs by processing it through manpower or machine, In short the creation of an object or services making necessary changes in the shape, size, weight and prospects of the raw materials through process. There are several sections in the unit, in the sections one by one steps about the procedure of product can be seen the details about the sections are as follows.
1) MAINTENANCE UNIT:

This is the main unit of the company. The heavy machines are installed here the unit 3 compressor which help in codling the ice-creams. There is generators also because incase of a power failure, it has to be switched on to keep the product fresh and cold. This unit also countries to boilers.
2) MANUFACTURING UNIT:

In this plant all the required raw material are mixed and then it is processed the raw material goes through many Thom formations before it becomes the final product. The

actual processes of making ice-cream starts and after icecream are manufacture and they are to the cold storage.
3) RAW MATERIAL UNIT:

In this unit all the raw material, such as milk powder, dry fruits like kaju, chocolates etc. are thoroughly inspected and checked and coasted in oven before sending it for flavoring on essentially.
4) COLD STORAGE UNIT:

The prepared ice-cream comes to the cold storage through a tunnel pipe. The whole process is automatic, the temperature in cold storage is between -25c to -27c icecream is taken out of this unit as per the order.
5) ETP UNIT:

ETP means effluent treatment plant there all the waste water is treated thoroughly and disposed off. The treatment is very much necessary because of the government policy that the chemical before disposing.
6) LABORATORY:

The laboratory of Havmor takes care of hygiene of the products each and every product is checked and certified over here before being launched, At most each taken on aspect of quality.
7) PACKAGING UNIT:

In this section the packaging of the product are done. The manufacturing date and best before information are labeled over here. Besides it is the store room where the packets are and used where necessary.

We can also called capital as a Blood. Therefore it must be systematically maintained planning is one of the most important activities of the financial manager to obtain. There should be sufficient cash neither more is shortage will intercept the firm manufacturing operation while exclusive cash supply remains idle. Therefore the cash and bank balance of the company are maintained at optimum level for this they can use the system of investment in reserves also.

They are paid fair wages and bonus is also given every year. Make everyone in the company from the chairman to the person on the shop floor share the responsibility of maintained the Havmor traditions of quality, hygiene and good taste.

RECRUITMENT & SELECTION:

The Recruitment is done formally. That is the recruitment is done by application education is necessity for getting job in Havmor for the technical department persons from ITI & Diploma are preferred. As there is a computer laboratory and registered office computer engineer as well as management students are also femoral for the same.
