MANAGER: FLIGHT SAFETY & COMPLIANCE

A vacancy exists for the position of Manager: Flight Safety and Compliance in the Standards and Compliance Department. This position will be administered on Peromnes grade 7. The successful candidate is to commence responsibilities as soon as possible, and will report to the Vice President: Standards and Compliance but is accountable to the MD. RESPONSIBILITIES: REQUIREMENTS:

Management of the full spectrum of Flight Safety


and Compliance in accordance with CATS OPS 12174(4) & (5).

Broad operational knowledge and experience in Safety management and Security principles and practices including theoretical training and theoretical experience. With at least 2 years to 5 years experience and 5 years Safety Manager experience as a Safety/Security specialist. Flight experience would be an advantage Exposure to and experience in auditing and inspection principles. Able to effectively plan, lead, organize and control. High levels of administrative expertise. Proficient in English (written and spoken) and able to liaise effectively at all levels. Computer literacy is essential (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.) Willingness and able to travel from time to time.

Develop and implement safety plans and needs that


may affect the aviation safety and security response plan.

Develop, implement and maintain the Safety Policy


and objectives, including the SMS System as well as a Security Policy.

Responsible for IOSA and other audits, in all

aspects, ensure that corrective actions are completed etc.

Liaison with the SA Civil Aviation Authority and


various other Authorities, customers and service providers/vendors.

Establish and maintain a culture of continuous

improvement with a view towards Total Safety and Compliance Management, including Security. EOHS as may be required and assigned from time to time.
