Getting and keeping good people is critical to the success of every organization whether it be public or private. HRP: Process of forecasting an organizations future demand and supply of the right time of people in the right number. HRP = Manpower planning, Employment planning, Personnel planning

Definition of HRP:

Human resource planning is the process by which an


organization ensures that it has the right number and kind of people, at the right places, at the right time, capable of effectively and efficiently completing those tasks that will help the organization achieve its overall objectives.

Difference between
Manpower planning HR/Manpower planning is the process of acquiring and utilizing human resources in the organization. It ensures that the organization has the right number of employees in the right place at the right time. Employment planning Employment planning is the process of formulating plans to fill future openings based on an analysis of the positions that are expected to be vacant and whether these will be filled by inside or outside candidates.

Steve Jobs announced he would take a medical leave of absence. What happens now? Who will be the next Apple CEO?

It is never to early to starting planning for future in advance because you dont know when something unexpected will throw you off course

2.HR demand and supply forecast


Demand forecasting means the process of
estimating the quantity and quality of people required to meet future needs of the organization. Quantity- 1 Quality- highly innovated and skilled

Supply forecast measures the number of
people likely to be available from within and outside an organization. Two types of supply: Internal supply External supply

3.HR programming
Once an organizations personnel demand and supply are forecast, the two must be reconciled or balanced in order that vacancies can be filled by the right employees at the right time.

4.HR implementation
Implementation requires converting an HR plan into action. It includes a series of action programmes such as: recruitment, selection, and placement.

5.Control and evaluation of programme


The HR plan should include budgets, targets and standards. It should also clarify responsibility for implementation and control, and establish reporting procedures which will enable achievements to be monitored against the plan. STEVE JOBS VS NEW CEO (TIM COOK)
