New Trustees Needed

Are you someone who can take on a challenge, problem-solve, with a can-do attitude? If so, Hamara Healthy Living Centre is inviting you to apply to join their Board of Trustees.
Being a trustee can be immensely rewarding, providing unexpected opportunities for personal development; working with, and learning from, people from different backgrounds. Hamara Healthy Living Centre is one of the leading community organisations in Leeds, making a difference to the lives of individuals every day. As well as operating a popular community centre, our current projects vary from working with young people on projects such as Connexions, Engage, and Street Vibe, to working on city-wide health and older peoples projects promoting healthy lifestyles and well-being initiatives. Our latest project is the aptly named HALO (Health, Achievement and Learning Opportunities) project aimed at enabling people with learning difficulties to achieve. You would be joining a Board currently made up of 7 knowledgeable, dedicated and valued volunteers from a wide-ranging background who meet approximately 6 times each year to ensure the organisation operates effectively and progresses in accordance with the governing documents. Trustees also represent the organisation at public forums, attend external meetings, raise awareness and engage with a network of contacts to support the work of the organisation. We are now recruiting new volunteer trustees to join the organisation. Hamara values the benefits a diverse board brings to the organisation and all applications will receive equal consideration, however, we are particularly interested in candidates with relevant skills and experience from the following backgrounds which are currently under-represented on our Board: The Bangladeshi community Young Peoples representative Finance or Accountancy There are also two places available ring-fenced for female representation
