Peter P. Maggi Returned to the Lord on July 17, 2012

We want to gratefully acknowledge the service that Peter Maggi gave to Our Lady of Peace Parish as well as to our school for almost 60 years. Peter volunteered and worked wherever he was needed and we will miss his presence and quirky sense of humor but most of all, his example of devotion to Christ and his Catholic faith. May he now rest in peace cradled in the gentle hands of our God with his beloved wife Louise looking on.

A big Thank

You from ...

Last week, nine members of our High School Youth Ministry had the opportunity to participate in Habitat for Humanity in Pendleton County, West Virginia. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by the couple that ran the Almost Heaven volunteer center. Throughout the week, we met several current and prospective owners of habitat homes. These individuals and families shared their stories and welcomed us as one of their own. Their stories were touching and gave everyone a different perspective on life. One woman in particular, Sandra, had the most memorable story of all. We were all touched by how willing she was to talk about it. We discovered that she turned her life around because of her grandson and the fact that she could potentially never see him because of some choices she had made. In addition to meeting such kind people in West Virginia, we became friends with the other volunteer groups there. Fortunately, all of us were high school students from the tri-state area. We made some great friends and shared experiences that we will remember for the rest of our lives.

We are all truly grateful for this experience, and would like to thank the parish for your

generosity in helping fund the trip! It was something that changed our lives and helped everyone realize that we cannot take everything we have for granted.

Sincerely, The Mission Trip Planning Team Adrienne Cirrotti,
