63 years have gone by since India gained independence.

In these 6 decades, our nation, with her huge abundance of natural as well as man-made resources, could have emerged as the world's most powerful democracy. With an extremely well-composed and principled constitution prepared by some of the best political geniuses and thinkers of that age, India could have reached unbelievable heights. But as they say, potential and success do not go hand in hand. While India is blessed with a plethora of resources and we have a constitution that ensures equality to all, the people of this nation hinder their own development with corruption and bribery.

Today, corruption is prominent in all spheres of life. The very essence of democracy is ruined by the corrupt activities that our government servants do to fill their own pockets. While the malpractices were most prominent in the executive and legislative systems of the government, very recently, corruption has spread dangerously into the judiciary too. The anti-corruption campaigns and awareness programs have failed to restore equality in the various departments of government and an effective mechanism to fight corruption is the need of the hour. Rather, we need to implement more severe punishments to the evil-doers, irrespective of their position and status in the society. The Lokpal and Lok Ayukta are anti-corruption instruments which if implemented properly, will change the face of politics and take India to new and higher dimensions.

The anti-corruption movement initiated by Anna Hazare achieved the solution to the nation's most challenging problem. Once the Jan Lokpal bill receives approval and the Lokpal comes into existence, our political party leaders will have to follow a completely transparent political procedure. The ordinary citizen will never have to bow before and bribe the officers for getting his rights and needs fulfilled. The country's income will now be utilized for the people's betterment. Our political parties and their leaders will now work for the country's service and not to fill their own pockets. Most of all, our constitutional principles of Liberty and quality will be fostered effectively and followed with devotion. Let us say, with Lokpal, India will be the new face of change. All thanks to Anna Hazare!

****.Students are the future of a country so they should work hard so that they can develop their country. We should fix some priniciples for us like we will never support corruption and other illegal works. If you want to bring a reform never look how many peoples are with you.Oppose each and every bad think.Do not prove your country less developed or weaker than other while

talking with your friend. The role of each and every citizen in the development is important. You must have seen the advirtisment of income tax when a son asked his dad why he is stilling his countries money by not paying the income tax. That's the best example.Oppose your parents on each and every illegal work whick cost your country.Though you have to face some loss but you have performed your duty.

Can a democracy be supported by raising the pitch and attacking the very institutions that have sustained the nation for so long? Its democracy, after all, that has allowed the activists a voice, and given them the power to challenge the government. But no government, no matter how liberal it is, will give permission for an indefinite agitation of 100,000 people in the middle of the nations capital.

Still, the reality is that the Indian middle class has been a victim of corruption for decades. The governments failure to address systematic corruption has been prompting them to question the whole political class and the institutions of governance.

First, there are a few background points that should be borne in mind:

1) While the best way to prevent bribes is to stop people offering them, this is easier said than done in India. Unless one knows a politician, government official or bureaucrat who can pick up the phone to fast track a given process, many feel compelled to pay a bribe to clear the numerous bureaucratic hurdles they face in this country. Its often a choice between nepotism and corruption, something tens of millions of Indians have been forced to confront.

2) Even though Anna Hazare claims to be a Gandhian, its ridiculous to compare him with the Father of the Nation.

3) As a member of civil society in the worlds largest democracy, I and other

Indians havent elected Team Anna (consisting of Anna Hazare and his handpicked civil activists) to express opinions and concerns.

4) If Kalmadi (the ex-Commonwealth Games chief and a Congress politician currently in jail on charges of corruption) can be labelled corrupt, so can Yeddyurappa (a politician from the opposition Bharatiya Janata Partywho was forced to resign recently). Yet I havent seen any statement against the latter from Anna Hazare or his team. Why the different standards for a Congress politician and a BJP politician?

Yet despite these reservations, I am standing firmly in Hazares corner simply because hes fighting for something that I (and most Indians) care deeply about

Anna's call asking for people to come on the roads and fight the country's 'second freedom struggle' clearly seem to have hit the right notes, which is why activists like Medha Patkar and producer of MTV reality Show 'Roadies' Raghu Ram came out in Hazare's support. Singer Vishal Dadlani regaled the crowd with 'Yeh desh hai veer jawano ka' and songs from 'Rang de Basanti'. Actors like Purab Kohli also came out to lend their support.

"This is not democracy, the government should listen to its people, this could have been resolved through a dialogue, if you don't like someone's view you don't put him in prison. The Congress has no right to take Gandhi's name any more, they are behaving more like Italy's Mussolini,
