Context
Since 1987, AIMA has been actively advocating larger participation of Women in Leadership Roles. In the last 3 National Conferences various pertinent issues have been raised from this National platform. There is complete realization that women have to play lead role in organisations. However, that fact is that not enough attention is being paid to deal with the enhancement of women as responsible partners who shape this world and run it as heads of institutions or leaders.

The National Conference will address the following
Why do we need women leaders on the TOP! Practicing women managers perceive that there is a lack of understanding on the need to harbour women leaders in management. Why should women be at the top? What difference would women leaders make to business processes? How to develop women managers. This theme will discuss the needs of women managers who aspire to be on the top. The session will have cases, experience sharing and research on what is it that is required. Mentoring for Women Managers This theme would raise issues related to the mentor as well as mentee in the corporate environment as a tool to harbour the career growth of women leaders. Taking the Floor Challenging the systems and taking initiatives is what this theme is about. Stereotyping is a difficult nut to crack for both men and women. This theme will showcase why women fear taking the floor and make easy choices. How have existing women leaders coped with this and transcended the boundaries they have inherited.

Founded in 1957, All India Management Association (AIMA) is an autonomous body which plays a proactive role in pooling management thoughts within the country. It is a platform to develop National Managerial ethos and an organization to facilitate the furtherance of the management profession in the country.
