Quote of the Week

This weeks quote is a winner.

We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.

Divorce Cakes
If you take a bit of hatred from two souls, mix it in a pot and put it in the oven, then it is time for you to cut your Divorce Cake. And silly as it may sound, so people go to great lengths to say farewell to each other for good. This couple was literally cut in half because they hated each other. What a shot! (Left)

Getting To Know the Facts: Additional Knowledge

Flowers What
they are worth.
Every day I saw my gardener work on the flowerbeds and despite that I plucked them.
I lived in Flowers are more a house than petals and with a perfume. garden, and ever since my mother had seen the garden, I could tell that she was going to buy that very house. She loved flowers, and me? I never really thought about them.

As seasons changed, so did the colors in my house. Every season had its own set of flowers, and my mother kept changing

them. She was a working woman and she had little time to take care of the garden. She hired a gardener and was willing to pay him so much just to take care of her flowers. Our gardener was quite hardworking, and the flowers kept on blooming. Whenever I looked out of my window, I would see the garden and most times, I would also see the gardener. He would be working under the sun and I

would wonder why. One day I told this to my friend. I told her that the roses were blooming. She shared some information with me and told me that we can eat roses. Really? I had to try this. I plucked the

largest rose. The gardener came and saw his grand rose missing. I did not get into trouble, thankfully. But. Flowers are not just a beauty on their own, but they also help increase the growth of a garden community because they attract a lot of insects (such as bees, that give us nectar). The insects attract birds and these in turn kill harmful insects that destroy plants. Most flowers are edible and a tasty treat too! But be sure to check whether that tempting flower is edible or not (also make sure that it does not grow near roads: harmful fumes for cars cause more than just global warming). Plants produce oxygen and I think we all know why we need that. The worst part for me is that when you pluck a flowerthere is an extremely tiny scream, something we cannot hear, but it exists. Now I know that flowers are more than petals and perfume. I think really to get it I will go tell mum that I ate the rose. She liked it, and the gardener worked really hard to bloom. Words

and the Heart: Literature

Who says that actions speak louder than words?

(Short Essay)
The reality of the English Language.

My People
Written by Full of Thoughts (first week of June, 2012). I come from far away, where, if you went, sweet twittering birds would greet you, and exquisite animals would observe you from afar. My people would be busy in their odd daily jobs, with a sprinkle of new and old traditions, but they would greet you, and you would rest the way we rest, on our finest beds.

Where I come from, natures breath leaves a kind of warmth in the air, even when the air is cool, and you will feel the way we feel- right at home-, my people and I. And so my people work alongside each other, though an occasional fight is likely, but in the end, we are all hand in hand. And so the long hours of the day move on, and once the night creeps onto us from over the horizon, a new kind of light is shining all around. And do you know where I am from? Can you put your finger on any culture or any country? Surely not, for I am merely a human from Earth, and though we have divided ourselves, we still breathe the same way, and our hearts still beat the same way. By Full of Thoughts. (4th June, 2012)

Spotlight: The Real Deal

Phasmo
It is just the dark
Phasmophobia is the name of the fear of ghosts. Now, this fear may not always be true, meaning that ghosts may not always be around, or at least the bad kind.

phobia

Even as I am typing this, sitting alone in my house, I cannot help but get startled by the creaking sound of the open cupboard door as it moves with the wind (or so I hope). There seems no remedy to my hesitation of walking alone into a dark room, with the switch on the other side. Why can I not brave being on my own? Why do I always think that there is a ghost around?

Why can I not brave being on my own?

What did the ghost do, to earn such a bad reputation? Fear of Supernatural Things: Now, the thought of something that can see you but cannot be seen is creepy, right? Also, if it can move things, and you wonder why a lifeless thing is moving is also creepy. When you do not know why something is happening and what is causing it, you feel confused and insecure. Fear of Getting Hurt: Something like a ghost may not seem very friendly to you. The fear of being attacked

and even killed is a scary thought, and no one can argue with that. And being attacked by something invisible? Even worse, right? Braving the Dark: You cannot live your life being afraid of the dark. You may need to stay home alone some time. What you need to do is think, Has this ever happened? Mostly, the answer will be no. Now you need to look around the empty room. Can you see anything? If you see dark figures, stop and focus on that evil corner. Well then, I think we have reached a conclusion. Doors can move by the wind. The tube light may have gotten fused. That sound was coming from outside. The rags on the rooftop of the under construction building are just lifeless pieces of

cloth. And remember, the place looks scary. Why do such things seem likely when you are in a dark room, or when you are in isolation? It is usually the place, and not reality, that is creepy. The Sad Part: It may not always be so. But then, think about your chances. How many ghost stories have you heard? What is the population of this planet, or your own country? It is a scarce occurrence and not the usual agenda for the day. Now. Close the light and test your courage. Mary when she has to stay at home all by herself.
