INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

As the national President of the Muslim Students’ Association of US and

Canada with hundreds of participating chapters through-out North
America, I have accumulated useful experience in developing learning and
leadership programs and contacts with Muslim students and professionals
from many parts of the world. As the Deputy Director of ISTAC, besides
the activities listed in this CV, I have travelled with the Founder-Director
all over the world and was involved in many discussions, dialogues and
negotiations with many important scholars, statesmen, diplomats,
bureaucrats, and professionals. Since 2002 until now, many of these
acrivities are still carried out.

LEADERSHIP

1. 1981/82: National President of the Malaysian Islamic Study Group of the United
States and Canada (MISG USA and Canada), which was the biggest Malaysian
student organization overseas, with almost 230 affiliated campuses.

2. 1982/83: President of the Muslim Students' Association of the United States and
Canada. (MSA USA and Canada). The only Southeast Asian and Malaysian
student so far, to have been entrusted with such a role. He also was the member of
Majlis al-Shura of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).
