Volunteer Music Teacher
In collaboration with a colleague, and in coordination with B&GC program
directors, I brought ASTAs Discovering Strings 4 - 6 week curriculum to the after
school program. My teaching partner and I introduced the string instrument family to
a group of third graders through lesson plans designed to build youth interest in
studying music, demonstrate a connection between music and core school subjects, and
provide resources and guidance to help children and families join local music
