QUALITY MANAGER Job responsibilities

1) Monitoring Plant Quality a. Monitor the performance of plants in terms of rejections & defects (rejection %, PDI etc) at the shop floor - product wise - for all plants & evolve action plan for improvements along with respective plant managers b. Initiating actions to improve on product and process quality and ensuring implementation of the same c. Initiate & implement actions for measuring, monitoring & improving process capability d. Customer interface and monitoring & analysing customer feedback for both internal & external customers & initiate counter measures for improvements. e. To conduct periodical audits to ensure adherence to systems f. Monitor the effectiveness of preventive and corrective actions taken g. Setting up (Design, develop & implement) the QC system for manufacturing processes with reference to CTQs (Critical To Quality) of product & process quality h. Refine & strengthen the existing quality systems based on the above i. To participate Pilot lot audit and coordinate with projects for smooth implementation of New product in to Production phase

2) Monitoring Supplier Quality

a. Monitor the performance of suppliers in terms of rejections & defects & evolve action plan for improvements along with materials & supplier b. Monitor the effectiveness of Inspection and Audits done at Supplier's Genba (Site) c. Technical coordination between projects, materials & supplier for new & existing products in terms of product & process quality d. Identify critical processes of suppliers and set up systems to monitor and CTQs (Critical To Quality) of process and product .

3) Standards room & calibration

a. Technology upgrades in inspection and measuring instruments and Implement Attribute gauges based on feasibility b. Monitor calibration of inspection instrument .

4) Quality Systems- in Quality function

a. Improve and Sustain Quality Systems in line with ISO 9000-2000 b. Monitor the Documentation & Implementation of Quality system in terms of writing & Implementation of procedures, Instructions etc c. Monitoring the effectiveness of the quality system by organizing and coordinating internal quality audits

5) Quality Initiatives : Initiate & actively lead & participate in all quality initiatives e.g. six sigma in line with Lean Manufacturing.

6) People Development

a. Developing a team of QC, QA specialists. b. Identify proficiency gaps of individuals in for specific competencies & arranging specific training programs in coordination with HR for Quality Function members. Evaluating the effectiveness on the job & taking corrective actions if necessary.

Skills : Problem solving techniques e.g. 7 QC Tools, DMAIC, DOE , Statistical & Analytical Skills , Inspection Methods , Engineering Drawing , 7 QC Tools , Quality auditing skills . Hydraulic Power Press. Lath Machine, Grinder Machine, chaser Machine. Drilling Machine, shearing machine, shaper machine, arc welding machine and mig welding machine. 9. Knowledge of Auto cad preparing str. Drawings, Assembly Drawings and shop floor drawing. 10. Preparing the BOM/BOQ material requirement, scrap analysis, job analysis and cost analysis of the product.

Laisioning with internal customer (Infra Department, Project Manager, Stores & Commercial Department to full fill their requirement. 14. To motivate and trained the production engineer / supervisor for better utilization of their efficiency and civility. 16. Key Responsibilities: * Responsible for Monthly/Daily Planning, scheduling, organizing and controlling the Operations/production of whole sheet metal division which is operating in two shifts with around 500 man power including day/night shift supervisors, draughtsmen, foreman, CNC Operators, welders, fitters, skilled, unskilled workers and a nos. of sophisticated machines/equipments, Material Management, Q.C., Stores, logistics, Maintenance, Product development, labour related matters and plant Administration. * Product Presentations to customers, Escorting the customers for plant & technology explanation during plant visits. Understanding the customer test thru close coordination with VP-Marketing & all zonal managers. * Monitoring WIP inventory and ' Work Orders' progress Thru 'power builder' ERP Software and excel. * Analyzing and finalizing new machines/project purchase and installation. * Ensuring the purchase and supply of raw material in time. Finalizing new vendors supplies. * Ensuring the statutory HR related records as per the Labour law and factory act. Maintaining the excise records/return. * To review manpower in plant periodically and initiate action of rightsizing as required, reviewing raw material & consumable cost, monitoring and controlling rejections. * Material transfer, paper work handling and drawings/BOM handling. * Communicating and Directing Q.C., Maintenance, store, welding, Painting plant, final assembly, R&D, Planning, purchase, personnel department, Tool room, coordinators, etc. * Grievance handling, conflict resolution, motivation of subordinates, and succession planning. * Raw material calculation required for completion of different work orders. * Programmed & non programmed decision making, weekly & monthly presentation and Reporting to Director. * To assist Technical Team in new Product development, processes development and further commercialization for business development, substitute raw material for pricing efficiency etc. * Influencing/motivating employees towards the achievement of organizational mission, objectives and goals within the strategy and policy frame work of organization. * Presentation of weekly and monthly production reports, store reports, maintenance reports, Quality reports, Design & development reports. * Accountable for continuous expansion activities.

Heading the Quality department and responsible for ISO 9001:2008, 14001: 2004 certification, Creating department dashboards and SLA, Monitoring of dashboards and SLA, SOP creation and modification, Department audits and to drive improvement projects in the Organization. Conducting internal audits to assess and analyze organizational effectiveness, system efficiency, process effectiveness, business performance, risk management and conformance to requirements. Reviewing the adequacy and effectiveness of current SOP"s / WI"s during internal audits in-tune with business requirement and revising the same as and when needed. specifications Prepare audit plan. Plan covers internal audit across all zonal retail stores including all functions/departments on a quarterly basis.

Identify areas of opportunity and support continual improvement of the Quality Management System Conduct Project Management Reviews (Project Review), External Quality Assurance Reviews (Customer services Review/Mystery audit etc.) and internal Audits (Process Review) and Final Inspection (Tollgate Review) Follow-up on the audit findings, to ensure that deficiencies identified during the audit have been effectively addressed and Educate and assist auditees to identify business risks and mitigate them through a system of effective internal controls. Train, develop & coach operations and other functions on basic quality tools and guiding them with corrective and preventive actions. Update quality dashboards, analyze & evaluate report trends and disseminate quality and MIS reports to senior management team as per defined frequencies.
