SELECTION FOR CONSULTANTS BY THE WORLD BANK REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST Electronic Submissions through World Bank Group eConsultant2 https://w bgeconsult2.w orldbank.org/w bgec/index.html ASSIGNMENT OVERVIEW Assignment Title: 1086230 - Heliopolis to New Cairo Tramw ay : Prefeasibility Study of PPP Arrangements Assignment Countries: - Egypt, Arab Republic of ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION The General Organization for Physical Planning launched a study in 2009 to prepare the preliminary engineering design and bid documents for a 31 km Tramw ay line from Heliopolis to the American University in New Cairo . The study is ongoing and should be completed by August, 2013. Seeking a PPP arrangement appears attractive as a means to secure technically proficient concessionaires for maintaining and operating the system and possibly reducing, to some extent, up-front public sector funding. The objectives of the assignment is to assess the institutional, financial, and contractual feasibility of PPP options for operating and possibly investing in rolling-stock of the Tramw ay, to recommend a preferred option, and to outline the main legal, financial, risk sharing, and procurement aspects of that option. INDIVIDUAL / FIRM PROFILE The consultant w ill be a firm. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS The World Bank now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. for firms; CV and cover letter for individuals). Please note that the total size of all attachments should be less than 5MB. Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications. Interested consultants are hereby invited to submit expressions of interest. Expressions of Interest should be submitted, in English, electronically through World Bank Group eConsultant2 (https://w bgeconsult2.w orldbank.org/w bgec/index.html) NOTES Follow ing this invitation for Expression of Interest, a shortlist of qualified firms w ill be formally invited to submit proposals. Shortlisting and selection w ill be subject to the availability of funding.
