at the Cook Arts Center February - March 2013

Celebrate! A Community Arts Day will showcase a special exhibition of artwork by student artists, beginning February, 2013.
Artists Creating Together, the Girls Choral Academy, and Grandville Avenue Arts and Humanities are soliciting artwork created by students for this upcoming celebration of the arts. Artwork received by ACT by the deadline of Monday, February 11, 2013 will be juried to create an exhibit of approximately 50 pieces that includes a full range of ages and abilities. Celebrate! A Community Arts Day A fine arts celebration that is open to all! Saturday, March 9 9:00am-12:30pm
This cost-free event is an chance for people of all ages to experience dance, music, and visual art in a way that is all about having fun while learning about the arts. Throughout the day, there will be opportunities to participate in dance and music workshops, engage in creative art-making activities, view performances by dance and choral groups from your community, and more!

Guidelines for Submitting Artwork

All art must be of durable material able to withstand transporting and the normal daily exposure of a public setting. Size, scale and media guidelines are outlined below. Each entry must be accompanied by a completed entry form, signed by the artist, and parent or guardian, if the artist is a minor. Artwork submitted should not be framed. It is also recommended that artwork NOT be mounted on construction paper. Art must be delivered to the ACT office in Grand Rapids, Michigan, by Monday, February 11, 2013. Every precaution will be taken to assure protection of the work; however ACT is not responsible for loss or damage.

Media and Size Requirements

Artwork submissions should be two-dimensional only. All two-dimensional media are accepted. Art submissions should be one of the following sizes: 5 x 7, 8 x 10, 11 x 14, 16 x 20 inches. Application Process
All visual art work and completed entry forms must be received by February 11, 2013 to be considered for the exhibit. Please complete the appropriate forms and submit them by February 11, 2013. Deliver or mail visual art work and submit applications to:

Works included in the Exhibit will be returned to artists in April 2012.

ACT reserves the right to reproduce images of artwork for organizational use and to publish names, photographs and/or stories and to photograph, publicize and otherwise use appropriately this artwork for exhibition and for educational and public awareness purposes.
