10. Working individually have students complete page 1 in Practice Book.

F. Assessment Will use ongoing assessment outline on page 27 in teachers manual a. Use Decoding/Phonics- Have students reading below level read aloud the first paragraph on page 27. Listen for their pronunciation of everywhere. b. If students have difficulty pronouncing the word, model the strategy: 1. When I look at this word, I try to find parts that I might know. I see two smaller words, every and where. When I blend these two together, I get everywhere. Thats a word Ive heard before, and it makes sense in the sentence. On Friday test using page 41 in book Decode Long Words.

G. Reflection I feel the easiest part to teach will be looking for the parts of the words that they already know. It will be using prior knowledge already learned and then adding to it. I think the hardest part will be helping them to understand the definition of the words. Some words could be words they are hearing for the first time. Students should already know 2 syllable words and their meanings. I will use the Ongoing Assessment tools outlined in the teachers manual and carry over the skills used into the next story for the following weeks. I will reteach using the below level Intervention Reader: Bright Surprises in small group. I will also use Additional support activities on page S2 in teachers manual: Reteach Vocabulary Since this is my first time teaching this lesson I would keep the lesson as is with the exception of adding making a vocabulary book to the reading assignments where the students write the new vocabulary words they learn with each story into a notebook. Notebook can be used as study tool and a visual of words learned this school year. The most difficult part of writing this lesson plan was learning to use the teachers manual. I didnt know the depth of knowledge within the manual.
