TASK 9 FORMAL PROPOSAL

Title of magazine The name I have chosen for my magazine is , I have chosen this because is short, snappy and it can also be referred to the beats of the Pop music. Every pop song has a Rhythm and this is what makes it catchy and popular. Because its a pop magazine it can cover a variety of artists so the word Rhythm covers the different genres the music can advertise.

Rhythm

Choice of genre The genre of music I have chosen is pop, I have knowledge about this genre and I also have an interest in this music as well and what goes into a pop magazine. I sometimes buy and read Billboard magazine so know what is to expect in the type of magazine. My Target audience A stereo typical pop target audience would be young girls around the age of 6-13 however I am aiming my magazine at teenage girls around the age of 15-19. My magazine will have artists inside who are current, popular and in the charts at the time.

Initial ideas for Front Cover For my front cover I would like to use a medium shot or a long shot of a young female artist dressed very sophisticated and vibrant, reflecting her sense of style and fashion. The colors I would like to use for my magazine will be white, black and purple. The sell lines I would like to use will be related to the artist, who is the main topic in the magazine, the latest fashion and whats happening in the pop industry.

Initial ideas for My Contents page For my contents page the mast head will be bold and across the top of the page in white writing with maybe a purple effect, followed by the words contents page which will be in the color purple and black contrasting the masthead. The features of the magazine will be categorized on the left side of the page with a short welcome article in the centre bottom of the page.

Initial ideas for my article For the double page spread I want to do an interview with the artist who will appear on the front on the cover page, the image on one side of the double page will be based on the artist and will be a different shot than

what is on the front. The text I will use will be short paragraphs, simple, and not to much of it either so it doesnt put of the reader on reading it.

Initial ideas for photographs The image I have chosen to use on the front cover will be either a mid shot or long shot of my female artist; I would like this image to be either in a field (Like Billboards addition of Miley Cyrus, and her guitar) or on a plain white background. For the contents page I will use around 3 images, 2 of these will be about different features in the magazine like fashion articles or news about other artists. The fourth image will be one of the artists who appear on the front of the magazine advertising her article in the magazine. The images will be of females mainly. For the double page spread the image I would like to use is a close up MCU of the artist so you can view their facial expression. These magazines are usually found in pop magazines especially the magazine Billboard. For the background I either would like to go for a plain white background or in a field as these are fun and simple. A prop I would like to use is a guitar.
