The Saviours Name has NEVER been Jesus!

By Samuel Thompson
The Mashiach of Israel was born in Bethlehem of Judea of a Jewish virgin who spoke Hebrew. He was born into a society where Hebrew was the common language. The messenger Gabriel had announced to Miriam (Mary) the mother that the child about to be born would save His people Yisrael from their sins. His Name, therefore, would literally reflect this meaning and mission. The Bible shows that whenever people were spoken to from On High, it was always to those who were familiar with or spoke the Hebrew language. Hebrew no doubt was spoken in the Garden of Eden. The Bible is a Hebrew book, given to Ruach-filled Hebrew writers. The only language spoken for the first 1757 years until the Tower of Babel incident was Hebrew. We must conclude, therefore, that Hebrew is the heavenly language. Genesis 10:30 reveals that the tribes of Shem did not join the project at the plains of Shinar (Genesis 11:2) where the tower of Babel was built. According to Genesis 10, they dwelled at Mesha, in the foothills of Mount Sephar. Their Hebrew language was not changed. With all those facts before us, we must ask, why do our Bibles call the Saviour by the name Jesus which is not Hebrew? Jesus has no translation in any language. Why would a Hebrew maiden, whose native tongue was Hebrew, living in a community of Hebrews, who had been addressed by the celestial messenger Gabriel, give her newborn a hybrid Latin-Greek name that carries no such meaning as Saviour in either language? The Greek word for saviour is "soter," while the Latin is "salvare." No part of this word is found in "Jesus," a name with no etymological meaning. Recall that the angel said His Name would be related to His purpose as Saviour.

Jesus is not the Name of the Saviour of Yisrael

The fact is this, Jesus is not His name, and never was. The renowned Bible scholar and archaeologist Ernest Renan writes that the Saviour was never called Jesus in His life! Furthermore, there is not now nor was there ever an equivalent letter "j" in the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Nor is there any Hebrew letter that carries even an approximate sound of the consonant letter "j." Neither is there a letter "j" in the Greek alphabet. Even our English "j" is of recent origin, appearing in English only 500 years ago, when it often replaced the letter "i," usually at the beginning of a word. The question before us is, what was the Saviours name before there was a letter "j"? For some 1500 years He obviously was called by another name that could not have contained the letter "j." Would His Jewish disciples call Him by a hybrid Greek-Latin name when the Bible says they were unlearned and ignorant men? (Acts 4:13). They were common fishermen who spoke Hebrew or perhaps the closely related Aramaic dialect. Their Hebrew speech was then translated into Greek by linguists who gave us the record in our Bibles. In this study we will pursue the origin of the English Jesus, and present evidence from both the Bible and secular sources revealing that the name given from On High was the Hebrew name "Yahusha, "the same Name as the Old Testament son of Nun whom we know as Joshua. So if Jesus is not the name of the Saviour of Yisrael, then why use that name?

The Son carries His Abbas Name

The Saviour clearly avowed, "I am come in my Father's Name, "John 5:43. This passage means that He carried His Father's Name; its meaning is not limited solely to His coming by authority or command of the Heavenly Father. Just as today the family name is passed on from father to son, we would expect Yahusha to bear the Name of the Heavenly Father, AND come with His authority. In the Middle East a name carries far more significance and encompasses deeper implications than names in today's Western society.

There is a reason the Saviour was born in a Middle Eastern society that even today holds one's name in high regard. The Saviour went on to say that although the people did not receive Him, if another would come in his own name, him they would receive. He added that Moses had written of Him, likely a reference to Exodus 15:2, "Yah...has become my salvation," [Hebrew =Yasha, i.e., Yahu-sha]. (See also Deut. 18:15-19.) As already stated, the Saviours Name essentially is the same as that of Joshua (Pronounced "Yahusha"), the son of Nun, Numbers13:16. Joshua's name originally was Hoshea, but Moses had prefixed the short or poetic form of the set apart Name, Yah, calling Him Yahusha, meaning Salvation of Yah. This custom of shortening names is commonplace. For example, "bedlam" comes from Bethlehem, Jon from Jonathan, and Liz or Beth from Elizabeth. The Saviour Yahusha indeed came in the Name of His Father, for His very Name means "the Salvation of YAH." His Name contains the set apart, poetic, heavenly family name Yah: Yahusha. One has but to look at Acts 7:45 and Hebrews 4:8 in the King James Bible where the hybrid "Jesus" erroneously appears. It is obvious that scribes went through the King James Bible and everywhere changed the true name of Yahusha to Jesus. With overzealous intent, the name Joshua (Yahusha) the son of Nun had been mistakenly replaced with the hybrid "Jesus" as well! Later KJV revisions and newer Bible versions have replaced the Joshua.

No other name for Salvation

Salvation comes only through Yahusha the Mashiach and no one else. Salvation is through Him alone. "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12). None other name! That is the same name given by the angel Gabriel to the mother of Yahusha before He was born. Please note that your Bible specifically says there is no other Name! It does not say there is no other "person," which might allow you to call Him by whatever name you wish.

Yahusha is the only Name by which we have salvation. There is no other name than Yahusha, which actually means the salvation that Yahuah has sent. In talking with the penitent Jews at Pentecost, Peter was inspired to give this special Name through which we are to receive salvation. He did not say to be baptized in the person of the Mashiach. Peter gave us a very specific command to call on the personal name given by the Father, Acts 2:38, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you in the Name of Yahusha the Mashiach for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Ruach Hakodesh." To be sure, the person of Yahusha is important. But the Name He was given by the angel came from On High and carries a very special meaning for the Saviour, embodying the Name of Yahuah the Father Himself. The Name Yahu-sha acknowledges both the Father and the salvation that is in His Son Yahusha. Upon learning truth, we are to walk obediently in it. Most of us have learned deeper truth in small increments, and then put into practice what we have learned. Yahuah will continue to reveal more truth only if we accept and follow those things He has shown us. Why should He give more insight to those who reject and rebel at what He has already revealed? Once we know the truth, past ignorance does not justify our continuing in ignorance. "The times of this ignorance Yahuah winked at, but now commands all men everywhere to repent," Acts 17:30. He reveals His truth to those who willingly seek and follow it. And for all those who reject these wonderful bible truths will one day, face the wrath and anger of Yahuah. 1 Thessalonians 1:7-10 7 And to you who are undergoing tribulation rest with us, when the Master Yahusha shall be revealed from the shamayim (Heavens) with His mighty heavenly malachim (Angels),

8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not Yahuah, and that obey not the Besorah (Gospel) of our Master Yahusha ha Mashiach: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction away from the presence of Yahuah, and from the tifereth of His power; 10 When He shall come to be esteemed in His Yisraelite kidushim (Saints), and to be admired by all those who believe in that Yom (day), because our testimony among you was believed.

Disguising the Name Yahuah

How did the Kadosh Name get changed in our Scriptures? The concealing of the four letters of the Tetragrammaton (YHUH) representing the Name of the Father first began with the Yisraelite priests. It was carried further by the ignorance of the early Christian translators. The superstitious Jewish scribes, aware of Leviticus 24:16 and other verses that demanded reverence for Yahuah's Name, decided the best way to keep from blaspheming His Name would be to invoke substitute titles instead of calling on the proper Name Yahuah. By never allowing anyone to utter the sacred Name was, in their thinking, eliminating the potential of blaspheming it. To forestall anyone's reading the Tetragrammaton and vocalizing the name Yahuah, the scribes had placed diacritical marks of the vowels for Adonai over the Hebrew letters for His Name. In fact, the first vowel carried the sound of "e" as in met so the reader would read Yeh, and not blurt out even the short or poetic form, Yah. Theirs was a misguided zeal. And this is the main reason why many of our Jewish brothers today do not use the Name Yahuah, but call on titles such as Adonai or Hashem.

Early translators also hide His name

The early Christian translators were poor Hebrew scholars. In fact, most were ignorant of Hebrew knowing only Greek and Latin. Having the attitude of "not wanting anything to do with those detestable Jews," they refused even to learn Hebrew and were thus unable to read the Old Testament in the original language.

The main source of their information came from the Greek Septuagint translation of the Old Testament and not from original Hebrew texts. The Greek has three declensions of nouns, three genders and five cases. The noun suffix (ending) indicates its use in the sentence, which also is true of most European languages. For example, in Greek the masculine, nominative singular of our Saviours name ends in "s." This explains why we also have so many proper nouns in the King James Bible whose Hebrew has been changed to end in the Greek form "s," such as Judas, Elias, Jonas, Esaias, Zacharias, Jermias, Annas, and Silas etc. These names were lifted directly out of the Greek Septuagint with no consideration that they were Hebrew names (often having the ending "Yah,"). As stated, neither Hebrew nor Greek has a letter "j." Both the Latin and the English letter "i" (with a sound as in police) is regarded as an equivalent to the Hebrew ""yod". Never should the Saviours Name begin with the sound of "j" as in "jeers" but should begin with the vowel sound "ee" or Y. In the Septuagint, the equivalent Greek letter for Yahusha began with a capital I (or iota), and in the Latin was properly translated with a capital I. Later this became the letter "j" in Latin and was used for a capital "I" in early English, known as the "cursive J."

Where did Yeshua come from?

Following the example in the Septuagint, Christian scholars did attempt to transliterate (bring across the sound of) the Saviours Name as it was written in the Greek. Writing Yahuah's Name in the Hebrew texts, Jewish Scribes instead of the qamets (), had inserted a shewa (:), changing the vowel sound "ah" to "eh" to forestall blurting out the short form "Yah" of the Sacred Name. This practice is still found in the erroneous "JEHovah." Jehovah is an incorrect rendition. Thus, we have the Saviours Name beginning with "JE" when it should be "YAH" as in "halleluYAH." We don't say "halleluYEH." Using the Greek capital "I" (iota), they did not insert the vowel letter "a" (alpha) but had ignorantly accepted the Hebrew diacritical vowel points and used the letter "e" (eta). Thus they began the Saviours name as "Ie..."
6

The Greek has no "h" in its alphabet, only a rough breathing mark at a word's beginning that appears as a reverse apostrophe. No "h" appears in Greek of the poetic form "Yah." In fact from the above, we can see the first part of the Tetragrammaton in Greek would be written" Ie" (with no "h" as they had none) to be consistent with the Jew's rule of "Yeh" to avoid vocalizing the "Yah" sound. Nor did the Jews want in any way to associate Yahuah's Name with that of the Saviours, which might be seen as acknowledging His position as the very Son of Yahuah Who came in His Father's Name. The Greek has no "sh" sound, so only the "s" (sigma= s) appears. Thus far, we have the first three letters of the Saviours name, "IES." In the Greek this is followed by "o" (o= omicron), the sound being short, as in lot. This is followed by the "u"(upsilon = u), sounded as "oo." The transliteration in Greek, then, is something like "Ee-ess-oo-uh."Say it rapidly and we get a fairly close rendition, "Yesuah," remembering no "sh" sound was available. In Greek the Saviours name appears as "IESOUS" (with the suffix "s" for the Greek ending). The Latin translation was then made primarily from the Greek text, by passing the original Hebrew. Yeshu(a) also in my opinion comes from the Hebrew phrase: yimmach shemo vezikhro meaning "may his name and memory be obliterated. So it is in my opinion anyone using Yeshua instead of Yahusha is guilty of breaking the forth commandment of bringing Yahuahs blessed Name to vain emptiness.

Yahusha to Iesous
As the Saviours Name was then transliterated into the Latin directly from the Greek translation, we have the masculine, nominative singular ending in "s," which was erroneously brought into the Latin as Iesous, and later became Iesus. When the capital "I" was given a cursive tail about 500 years ago to become the "J," it also took up the sound of the French" J" as in journal. His Name soon was corrupted to "Jesus" in English. However, in Latin the "j" is sounded as "i" in police, or "ee." The Balkan country Yugoslavia was once spelled Jugoslavia, but was pronounced as it is today, Yugoslavia. Maps at the turn of the century often identified the U.S.S.R. as "Sowjet Russiah." The "j" had the "ee" sound and the "w" had the Germanic "v" sound.
7

The word "major" is pronounced as "mayor" in both Latin and German. June and July are pronounced" Yune" and "Yuly." All of this may be burdensome and technical, but necessary to show the evidence that the Name of the Hebrew Saviour is Yahusha. He came in His Father's name, "YAH." Had the Christian translators gone back to the original Hebrew His Name could have been faithfully preserved in the correct form "Yahusha." Instead, His Name was taken from the Greek into Latin, and then English, losing the Hebrew and we end up with a Latinized-Greek hybrid instead of the holy, saving Name Yahusha. It is like taking loose change repeatedly from one pocket to place in another and losing a little of it each time.

Necessity of the Name

His Name means "the salvation of Yah." Nothing like this can be gleaned from the man-made, erroneous name "Jesus," which developed from first the superstitious Jewish scribes, and then perpetuated through the ignorance of Christian scholars who were ridiculed by the Jews for their lack of linguistic knowledge of Hebrew. Shaul (Apostle Paul) reveals, "Yahuah also has highly exalted Him [Yahusha] and given Him the Name which is above every name, that at the Name of Yahusha every knee should bow..." (Philippians 2:9-10). The Name Yahuah gave to Miriam by which His Son was to be called was Yahusha! This can be proved from margin notes in Matthew 1:21 and Luke 1:31 in most Bibles. The translators substituted and disguised the Set Apart Name, giving us the erroneous hybrid Jesus. It simply is not His Name! Furthermore, Shaul says that the entire family of Yahuah will be called by the precious Name of "Yah," Ephesians 3:15. Some of the prophets carried His Name, such as Yashayahu (IsaYah), ObadYah, ZephanYah, ZecharYah, and JeremYah. We are to be given a specific name by the Father, and by which we will be known. How can anyone despise, ridicule and reject the Name Yahuah now and then love and reverence it-and be called by it-in the Kingdom?
8

Names in the Scriptures have deep significance and have definite meanings. They give us deeper understanding. He has thus set before us an open door for more truth. His salvation is in the Name of His Son, Yahusha, "and we are to keep His word and not deny His Name," Revelation 3:8. Under heaven there is none other name than Yahusha and through Him we have salvation.

IS J.E.S.U.S. THE NAME? Changes made at the hands of men There is much controversy about the Messiah's Name these days. Most Christians would be ready to die for the name that they have been taught to call our Saviour by---- JESUS. "SOOS" in Hebrew can mean "Horse". (Strong's #5483) So the closest meaning that the name Jesus has in the Hebrew language is that of a horse. Interesting to note that, the symbol f Pegasus is that of a winged horse.

Or cuc {soos}; from an unused root meaning to skip (properly, for joy); a horse (as leaping); also a swallow (from its rapid flight):--crane, horse ((-back, -hoof)). Compare H#6571. See Hebrew H#6571 Or even "JOY" (#7797)

But in Latin it has a totally different meaning. "SUS".suis 1. Prop.: A swine, hog.pig, boar, sow: Cic--Proverb: SUS MINERVAM, A hog teaches Minerva, i.e. an ignorant person pretends to instruct one well versed in any subject. (Latin Dictionary) Please see: sus suis c. [a sow , swine, pig, hog; a kind of fish]. SWINE [ME fr.OE swin; akin to OHG swin swine LATIN -SUS--more at SOW] 1: any of various stout-bodied short legged omnivorous mammals (family Suidae) with a thick bristly skin and long mobile snout; esp: a domesticated member of the species (Sus Scrofa) that includes the European wild boar-usu.used collectively 2: a contemptible person (Webster's Seventh New Collegate Dictionary) The Catholic Church uses the Latin. a DEAD LANGUAGE, whose words always retain the same meaning: 1: To preserve the original doctrine in all its purity; 2: To safeguard the proper Forms of the Sacraments; (The Converts Catechism of Catholic Doctrine) If you look you can easily see the Latin word for pig is written "SUS"! Not hard to understand is it? According to the Catholic's the meaning in Latin DON'T CHANGE! Now take a real hard look at this, what do Christians call their Saviour? What do Nazarene Israelites and Messianics do, when they write articles and insert in brackets (Jesus), after the Name of Yahusha? "Je-SUS" pronounced Gee-SOOCE and this is from the Latin word/name "Ie-SUS" pronounced Ee-SOOCE. The suffix is the same as the Latin word for "PIG". Did you know that there was a Celtic demon god by the name "ESUS" pronounced Ee- SOOCE also known as "HESUS" pronounced He or Hey SOOCE. This deity was worship by the ancient Druids (Dictionary of Pagan Religions) page 117 and page 152 This "ESUS" was found on a relief that is on an altar of ZEUS that was found in Paris in the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Notre Dame. (Encyclopaedia Britannica Macopedia) page 575 on this relief you can see on "ESUS's chest is a CROSS. You will also discover that in Italian the name "Je-SUS" is spelled "Gesu" "Ge" means earth (Strong's Greek #1093). EARTH -PIG! In Spanish JeSUS is pronounced HEY SOOCE? HEY -PIG!

In English JeSUS is pronounced GEE -SOOCE EARTH -PIG! Old English and Latin Ie-SUS is pronounced EE-SOOCE ?PIG! The Druid god ESUS is pronounced EE-SOOCE >>?-PIG! The Druid god ESUS also called HESUS pronounced He or HEY-SOOCE HEY-PIG! These are very blasphemous names to call the sweet Saviour by. Yahusha said, "I am come in my Father's NAME, and ye receive ME not: if another shall come in his name, him YOU shall receive. (John.5:43) The Father's NAME was not and does not start with Ge, Geh.Je, Jeh, or Ye, Yeh, for that matter. The first part of His Name starts with YAHU (YHU). This is the same Name within the Name of our Saviour YAHUsha. SO HOW DID THIS GOD "ESUS" OR "HESUS" FIND IT'S WAY INTO CHURCHES? "THE CELTIC people of Gaul and Britain, south of Hadrian's Wall, were conquered by the Romans, and in Britain the Roman rule lasted for over 4 centuries. The Roman conquest produced in Gaul and Britain a real assimilation to all that was Roman. The Celts especially in Gaul (old France), had many deities... Over three hundred names of such local deities are known to have existed, most of these in Gaul, some in Britain. Hence Caesar could speak of the Gauls as worshipping Mercury, Apollo, Mars, Jupiter, Dis, and Minerva. As time went on, and as the Celts submitted to Roman civilization, they accepted these equations. They allowed or even encouraged the Romanizing of their RELIGION as far as the deities and worship were concerned. Indeed, in their growing desire for oneness with Rome, the Gauls tried hard to find as many links as possible, however slight, between their deities and those of Rome. (CELTIC SCOTLAND page 24) "Esus" - A Gaulish god, probably originally a god of vegetation. He is equated with Mars or sometimes Mercury. (WEBSTER'S NEW 20TH CENTURY DICTIONARY)

The Norse "Odinn", who on account of his ritual hanging of himself, is sometimes called God of the Rope or The Hanged. This would seem to give him kinship with "ESUS" in whose honour sacrificial victims were hanged and,(hung in trees), in addition, there is an equation often made between "Odinn" and "Mercury".(THE DRUIDS & THEIR HERITAGE) page 97 How does HESUS or ESUS tie in with Zeus? According to BULFINCHES MYTHOLOGY, The Roman equivalent to "ODIN" is "JUPTER". Everyone knows that the Roman "JUPITER" is equivalent to the Greek "ZEUS". There is also the phonetics to consider that are involved in the suffix of the names of ESUS or HESUS and IESUS (jesus) and the parallels of the phonetics in the name "ZEUS". Where there had been many gods men came to think there must be really only one god under a diversity of names. He had been everywhere- under an alias. The Roman "JUPITER", the Greek "ZEUS", the Babylonian "BEL-MARDUK, the Egyptian "AMMON and RA", Ammon, who was the putative father of Alexander the old antagonist of Amenophis IV. Where there were distinct differences, the difficulty was met by saying that these were DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF THE SAME GOD. (THE OUTLINE OF HISTORY) VOL 1 page 323 Masonry knows what so many forget, THAT RELIGIONS ARE MANY, BUT RELIGION IS ONE. Therefore it invites to its altar men of all faiths, knowing that, if they use different names for THE NAMELESS ONE OF A HUNDRED NAMES, they are yet praying to ONE GOD and father of all. (A quote from beneath the cover of the bible that sits on the altar in >the Masonic lodge as the introductory section) RELIGION something for you all to think about! You will not find the word "religion" in the Hebrew Scriptures. It's not found in the First Covenant (Old Testament as known by many). If you go to the Strong's and look up this word, it gives two # for this word in five places #2356 and #2454 Greek dictionary. Only from the Greek translations is this word to be found and translated into English as "RELIGION". Three places in the Greek NT, in Acts.26:5, James.1:26, 27, it's Strong's G#2356"THRESKEIA" from a der. of G#2357; ceremonial observance: religion, worshipping.

13

Two places in the Greek NT in Galatians1:13, 14, it's Strong's G#2454 "IOUDAISMOS" from G#2450: JUDAism, i.e. the JEWish faith and usagesJEWS RELIGION. The question this all raises in my mind, is do you have a "THRESKEIA" or a "IOUDAISMOS" (RELIGION) in your life? As far as Hebrew goes, I don't see "RELIGION"! There is NO WORD in Hebrew for it. Doesn't this mean in Hebrew there is no such thing as "RELIGION"? So where does that leave CHRISTianity and JUDAism? Are these not "RELIGIONS"? One being "THRESKIA" (Christianity), the other being "IOUDAISMOS" (Judaism) = both being what we call in English "RELIGIONs"!? Is this thing called "RELIGION, an invention of mans hands in this case the invention of Greek hands or is it much older than the Greeks? Clearly the Masons Believe in RELIGION! But that being as it may, back to the main subject at hand. ESUS and HESUS and IESUS (Jesus) are so close in pronunciation phonetically it's real hard to miss. ESUS----ee-sooce . HESUShe or hey-sooce. IESUS---ee-sooce. JESUS--gee-sooce>> and guess what not one of them mean SAVE or Saviour! THE SUFFIX OF THE SURROGATE NAMES OF THE SAVIOUR We are told that the Mashiach's Name in Greek is "Ie-sous" pronounced ee-ay -sooce. In Latin it's written "Ie-svs" or "Ie-sus" pronounced ee-/sooce or zus In Old English it is written also "Ie-svs" or "Ie-sus" pronounced ee-/sooce or zus In the last two hundred years this name has evolved (because of the (J) factor) to "Je-sus" pronounced Gee- /sooce or zus THESE ARE ALL CONSIDERED TO BE WHAT IS CALLED TRANSLITERATIONS! This is the means of bringing across the letters and sounds of letters from one language to another. Unquestionably there are phonetic parallels between the sound of the name "Zeus" and the sound of the suffix of the Latin "Ie-SUS" and the English "Ie-SUS" & "Je-SUS" which are either pronounced SOOCE or

"ZUS" in English, and this is certainly a factor to consider and keep in mind. But this is not the direction of this topic today. What I want to address is this. If you go to your dictionary and look up the word/name "SWINE" you find that in Latin the word/name SWINE is "SUS". Excluding the Greek word/name, this Latin word for SWINE i.e. pig"SUS" is identical in writing to the suffix of the Latin and the English transliteration "Ie-SUS" and "Je-SUS". "SUS" pronounced "SOOCE" or "ZUS" in English! In Latin it means "SWINE" i.e. PIG, and has the same sound as the Greek suffix in the word/name "Ie-SOUS" ,pronounced "SOOCE" Here are some more interesting parallels In the Spanish translations of the scriptures such as in Mexico for example the name is written "Je-sus" but it is pronounced He or HEY- SOOCE. Both the suffix spelling and sound of the suffix is the same for the Latin word "SUS", which means SWINE.
