former PAGs members and that of the loose firearms are part of the campaign of the PNP-8 to ensure a safe and orderly conduct of elections in Samar, identified as one of the 15 provinces in the country as a priority or hotspot areas in relation to the midterm elections this year. A special task force, dubbed as the Regional Special Operations Task Group (RSOTG), headed by S/Supt. Its been my habit to check replies and posts as soon as I wake up, during my free time, when Im traveling, and just before I go to sleep. Since most social networking accounts of public figures are manned by their staff, several of his Facebook friends find it hard to believe that he personally manages his own pages. Many people doubt if I really do the posting on Facebook and Twitter. I do it myself because I like being hands-on. Also, after a days hard work, its therapeutic to share what youve done to the online community, said Ejercito Estrada.

Those who are addicted to smoking are in for a tough crisis salivating on cigar that is now twice as expensive or even more that what it used to cost when they decided to get hooked into the habit. But no matter the cost, smokers are a tough lot to stop in their smoking as many would opt to bear the pain of increased prices in cigarettes. The sin tax measure may cause smokers and drinkers to pause awhile and reect on whether or not to continue with the vices they had lived with. The cost of smoke and the nicotine that goes with every smokers breath had been upped by every entrepreneur doing business with cigarettes. Government had been targeting to increase its revenues to sustain the operations of government. So much is spent by government in providing basic services to the people, including its constituents healthy existence. The increase in prices due to the added factor dubbed as sin taxes had caused alarm upon the smoking population whose life and system had thus far been dependent if not addicted to smoking. Energy Sec. Rene Almendras. This is it! As newsmen thought of her words in a guesting in the January 12 edition of Express It At The Park, this is the governorship that heaven reserved for her, and to reiterate, the well-deserved opportunity to be the governor. The opportunity she calls, the free seat. Now that she is in such key post the highest executive official of the firstclass Province of Leyte, and with only eight months to stay on it till June 30 this year, how does she want to be remembered by the people, especially that the Petillas - from Gov. Leopoldo Petilla to his wife Remedios Matin Petilla (who later became congresswoman after three terms) then to their son Icot (who like is mom became a multi-awarded LGU leader), have already put in place the groundworks for Leytes progress with their landmark programs and projects? She has been in the political limelight since she plunged into the local arena as Tacloban City councilor. Over a decade henceforth, nurturing a name that was not to be undermined and a public service that was beyond sheer advocacies, she won her way up to be the City Vice-Mayor then Vice Governor of Leyte before the City became a highly urbanized city. Sticking it on with the now ruling Liberal Party from the onset of her political career, she finally got into the position which according to Pres. Noynoy Aquino she so much deserved the governorship of Leyte.
Gov. Ma. Mimietta Satorre Bagulaya of the third district of Leyte is all thankful to Divine Providence for the prize for her loyalty, and steadfastness and dedication to public service and ever challenge that went it on top of a remarkable reputation in good governance. With a litany of citations, recognitions and awards, including a lifetime achievement award as former chairperson of the League of vice Governor of the Philippines, no one would ever think that she could not make it to the governorship in an election. The tie is ripe for her to work on that step of the ladder.
These and similar situations could have been prevented if the Philhealth office did not allow itself to be used in the process. How could such thing happen without the back-up or loose ends on the part of the insurance office? Instead of participating in the political maneuvers of wannabes, the office could do well to improve its services especially in reviewing its capability in taking care of its paying members who get headaches when they get discharged from the hospital after confinement. Insurance coverage is so meager that the patient gets relapse after being shown with the hospital bill whose Philhealth coverage does not even reach 50 % let alone at least 75 % of the total because the ordinary member has to resort to loan sharks to complete payment.
those whose physical system and mindset had been hardened by the sticky residue of nicotine. We do not know how effective is the measure in terms of promoting a healthy lifestyle by the projected reduction of smoke being puffed upon a passive population. The cost of savings that government would keep in terms of reduced expenses in health services would eventually be the wages of sin.

To say that the present times are bordering the point of madness and anarchy is an enervated statement. Natural disasters, death by guns via multiple headshots and numerous bullet wounds, drug-fuelled shootings, the constant bickering of our supposed-leaders in the Senate, the flaws and fiasco of our uniformed personnel, gambling related and election related violence, billion peso scams, the solons sans finesse in their greed for pork and ul-

Hell according to her is even more horrifying than Dantes account. It seems that the terrifying concepts from the films is no match to the Hell she had seen. One disturbing detail in her testimony is the observation that devils are toiling profusely running in and out its gates, to destroy mankinds faith in God. In my humble opinion, I seel all these sad events as elicited by the forces of darkness, to sow chaos, to create problems and to cause our loss of faith. And it rattled us to the core. Aside from activities targeting the humane and spiritual side of the candidates and the electorate like the successful peace covenant signing in Samar and the unity walk and prayer rally for SAFE 2013 on Sunday, we will also showcase the result of aggressive police operations targeting PAG personalities in Samar and loose firearms in other parts of the region, Soria said in a press statement released by media relations officer Inspector Romuel Nacar. Soria added that accomplishment only goes to show that PNP-8 is serious in the crackdown against PAGs and in ensuring secured and fair elections not only Samar but in the entire Eastern Visayas region. To recall, a successful peace covenant signing was initiated by PNP8 held last January 13 at the Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in Calbayog City with Interior Secretary Mar Roxas presiding and garnering support from the Diocese of Calbayog and other stakeholders like the Commission on Elections, Armed Forces of the Philippines, civil society groups. Major candidates
seeking for governor, vice governor, congressional seats as well as for provincial board and mayoralty posts for Catbalogan and Calbayog signed the pact. The PNP-8, in collaboration with the Comelec will also conduct a Unity Walk and Prayer Rally for Secure and Fair Elections (SAFE) 2013 on Sunday, January 20, in Tacloban City and provincial capitals regionwide to drumbeat the significance of the midterm elections. Since its creation, the RSOTG was able to arrest PAG leader Julito Aragon on December 23, 2013 in the hinterlands o f B rg y. P e a p l a t a , Gandara, Samar. Aragon was listed as the number one most wanted person in Samar and wanted for two counts of murder. Also, two Montealto PAG members, Michael Angelo Mendoza and Felipe Casaljay, voluntarily surrendered to RSOTG last December 20 and 27, 2012 respectively while another PAG member, Wilfredo Moloboco, also turned himself in last December 19, 2012. Soria earlier assured that he will ensure that the will of the people is truly reflected in the upcoming elections, even recalling his successful experience as Commander of Task

She will revive the holding of Holy Mass at the site every first Tuesday of the month. This is not only keep the place spruced up. She took special note the Magsaysay Boulevard is prone accident where lives are at times taken. She likewise mentioned of further promoting culture and heritage in the province and the plan of coming up with a coffee-table which she described as an anthology on the culture
and heritage, and dialect and language of the people of Leyte . This endeavor will be in cooperation with the Dept. of Education and Dept. of Tourism, according to the lady governor. Too little time, too many things one wishes to achieve. It is not the number or quantity but the quality that will gauge ones success in his filed of endeavor. Gov. Mimiette, a self-made achiever, a treasure of Leyte , can likewise make the difference. *** January 20 is a very momentous day each year for this woman of substance, a generous friend and very responsible mother and former boss of The Reporter Weekly.
