STORY: United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Jeffery Feltman, today visited the Horn of Africa Nation of Somalia where he met with senior members of the Somali Federal Government.Feltman, the UN political head, met with the Somali Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon as well as the Minister of Justice, Defence and Interior in the capital Mogadishu.Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Prime Minister Shirdon said he was pleased with meeting and the focus that the international community is giving to Somalia.SOUNDBITE (Somali) Abdi Farah Shirdon, Somali Prime Minister:I am happy with all the issues we discussed and we agreed on them. In September 2012, a new President was chosen in a United Nationsbacked process which ended eight years of rule by the transitional government. Jeffrey Feltman assumed the post of Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs on 2 July 2012.
