MISSION STATEMENT

Aria Healths Ethics Committee recognizes that disease and changing management options often create ethical dilemmas for patients, their caregivers and the institutions that provide services. The Committee meets monthly to collaboratively identify and define ethical issues that arise during the course of acute and chronic illness. Through unbiased review and communication, the Committee exists to foster principles of fairness and understanding for and among healthcare professionals and the individuals we serve.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After taking part in this activity, participants will be able to: Identify the importance, value and relevance of ethics in clinical care and healthcare reform. Discuss current ethical and legal issues for end of life care. Explore skills in decision-making for clinical cases that present ethical problems.

INTENDED AUDIENCE
This seminar is designated for Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers, Healthcare Administrators, Healthcare Workers, Healthcare Students, Pastoral Care, and Patient Relations Staff.
