Programs Offered: BSc Health Sciences Pre-BSc Health Science Mentorship The Mentorship scheme aims to provide the students at KMCIC with the help, advice and counsel of experienced faculty. In order to provide the students with ample opportunity to train themselves well for the USMLE, all the End-semester examinations are conducted on-line in the sophisticated and WAP enabled examination halls. E-Learning Resources Students are facilitated with an e-learning system, which enables them to obtain study material, announcements, and weekly quiz results from the teachers. It also helps the students with self-study, as the system is well- equipped with narration, animations and interactive quizzes. A separate e-learning centre has been established for this purpose. Programs Offered: 1. BSc in Health Sciences: Students are provided with a strong foundation in the basic sciences that will enable them to develop a sound understanding of the clinical manifestations of diseases and disorders and their treatment. Students who have completed a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, or who have at least 90 college level credits or who have successfully completed the Pre BSc programme offered by KMCIC will be considered on merit basis for admission to this programme. On completion of this programme at KMC International Center, Manipal, India, students will be enrolled at AUA College of Medicine, New York for further education, i.e. USMLE Step 1 followed by 5 semesters of clinical rotations in the affiliated hospitals of AUA College of Medicine. Objectives: At the end of the Basic Science programme, the medical student shall be able to: 1. Understand the principles of various Basic Science subjects and apply them to the functioning of the human body. 2. Develop certain psychomotor skills including memory recall, comprehension, correlation, applications, problem solving and communication. 3. Be able to critically analyze and discuss in an atmosphere of academic freedom and openness, thus encouraging intellectual exploration and cogent expression. 4. Evaluate problems/ situations in different perspectives. Eligibility:

Students who have taken advanced science courses such as Biochemistry, Anatomy/ Physiology, Genetics, Microbiology and other important subjects will be given preference for basic science program. The Admissions Committee employs various factors in evaluating applicants, including academic achievement and personal characteristics. The admissions committee also looks beyond GPA calculations and test scores in order to determine motivation, maturity, leadership ability and knowledge of the medical field. 2. Pre BSc: Students who have completed high school are eligible to apply for this programme. On completion of this programme at KMC International Center, Manipal, India, students will be enrolled at AUA College of Medicine, New York for further education, i.e. USMLE Step 1 followed by 5 semesters of clinical rotations in the affiliated hospitals of AUA College of Medicine. Applicants who have taken Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English will be given preference. Candidate should have a minimum GPA of 3.0. If a student has completed college level courses (premed), then credits are given when a student has been admitted to the premedical programme.
