The frequency of oscillator can be varied of r3, r4, and c3 When the supply is switched on pin 2 of ic1is given a high input and there fore the out put of ic1(pin3)is low .the output of ic1 is connected to pin 4 of ic2 and there fore there is no oscillation from a stable oscillator when power

is switched on as soon as touch plates are bridge by finger the voltage at pin 2 of ic1 consequently goes high for a period determined by the values of r2 and c1.since output of ic1 is connected to pin 4 of ic2 ic2 starts oscillating and produces an audible alarm from the loud speaker the audio alarm will as long as the mono stable output is high by adding a number of touch plates with respective circuits the number of security stations can be increased .the intruder for a particular station can be indicate by using led s

Resistors: A Resistor is an electrical device that resists the flow of electrical current. It

is a A passive device used to control, or impede the flow of, electric current in

an electric circuit by providing resistance, thereby developing a drop in voltage across the device.

We need some way to control the flow of current from a voltage source, like a

battery, so we do not melt wires and blow up batteries. If you think of current,

charge flow, in terms of water flow, a good electrical conductor is like big

water pipe. Water mains and fire hoses have their uses, but you do not want

to take a drink from one. Rather, we use small pipes, valves, and other devices to limit water flow to practical levels. Resistors do the same for current; they

resist the flow of charge; they are poor conductors.

The value of a resistor is measured in ohms and represented by the Greek

letter capital omega. There are many different ways to make a resistor. Some

are just a coil of wire made of a material that is a poor conductor. The most

common and inexpensive type is made from powdered carbon and a glue-like

binder. Such carbon composition resistors usually have a brown cylindrical

body with a wire lead on each end, and colored bands that indicate the value

of the resistor

A resistor is a two-terminal passive electronic component which

implements electrical resistance as a circuit element. When a voltage

V is applied across the terminals of a resistor, a current I will flow

through the resistor in direct proportion to that voltage. This constant

of proportionality is called conductance, G. The reciprocal of the

conductance is known as the resistance R, since, with a given voltage

V, a larger value of R further "resists" the flow of current I as given

by Ohm's law

CAPACITORS
A capacitor (formerly known as condenser) is a device for storing electric charge. The forms of practical capacitors vary widely, but all contain at least two conductors separated by a non-conductor. Capacitors used as

10

parts of electrical systems, for example, consist of metal foils separated by a layer of insulating film. A capacitor is a passive electronic component consisting of a pair of conductors separated by a dielectric (insulator). When there is a potential difference (voltage) across the conductors, a static electric field develops across the dielectric, causing positive charge to collect on one plate and negative charge on the other plate. Energy is stored in the electrostatic field. An ideal capacitor is characterized by a single constant value, capacitance, measured in farads. This is the ratio of the electric chargeon each conductor to the potential difference between themCapacitors are widely used in electronic circuits for blocking direct current while allowing alternating current to pass, in filter networks, for smoothing the output of power supplies, in the resonant circuits that tune radios to particular frequencies and for many other purposes.

555 TIMER This is a 555 tone generator circuit based on NE555 timer IC. NE555 is a very

famous IC used in many circuits and performs variety of tasks. In this circuit

the IC is used as an astable oscillator and the circuit will generte a tone when

power is applied. The 1M potentiometer is used to adjust the pitch of the tone

produced by the circuit.

The connection of the pins is as follows:

Many units which use IC sockets often have very cheap "spring" type IC

sockets that can be unreliable. Even if your unit has no sockets, many

upgraders prefer to fit sockets to enable experimentation with various op-

amp types for different tonal qualities of the sound. These Swiss-made

precision 8-pin DIP sockets with machined gold plated 'tulip' grip

contacts prevent capillary action with solder and flux on PCB's. They also

17

feature an open frame construction which maximises heat dissipation.

CIRCIT DESCRIPTION

WORKING OF CIRCUIT

The circuit has been constructed around two 555 timer ic s ic1 has been

wired as a mono stable multi vibrator the timer would provide a positive

pulse at its output (pin3) for a duration which is equal to 1.1r2c1 when ever a

negative trigger is applied at its input (pin 2 the duration of the mono stable

pulses can be varied by changing the values of resistor r2 and capacitor c1

19

Ic2 has been configured as an a stable multi vibrator with the exception

that it would oscillate only when pin4 of this ic is high pin 3 of ic1.there fore

ic2 will oscillate only when the output of mono stable ic1. The frequency of

oscillator can be varied of r3, r4, and c3

When the supply is switched on pin 2 of ic1is given a high input and

there fore the out put of ic1(pin3)is low .the output of ic1 is connected to pin 4

of ic2 and there fore there is no oscillation from a stable oscillator when power

is switched on as soon as touch plates are bridge by finger the voltage at pin 2

of ic1 consequently goes high for a period determined by the values of r2 and

c1.since output of ic1 is connected to pin 4 of ic2 ic2 starts oscillating and

20

produces an audible alarm from the loud speaker the audio alarm will as long

as the mono stable output is high by adding a number of touch plates with

respective circuits the number of security stations can be increased .the

intruder for a particular station can be indicate by using led s
