Beginning the Definition Essay: Using Voicethread to Narrate a Story.

Today, you will be practicing narrating a definition essay. In order to narrate your definition essay, you will be making/directing mini-documentaries using www.voicethread.com !!

You will be working in partners. *Pick a partner who has an email address if you dont!
First, write a script explaining what your topic is. Plan for a 2-3 minute script- be CREATIVE! Your script should: define your topic. Give examples. Explain how each example fits the definition! Use your storyboard to write/sketch ideas for pictures on each slide. Example: on slide one I want to say and I think I want a picture of. You will use the microphone/keyboard to narrate your story when you are ready (have your photos uploaded and organized) Find pictures that visually represent your topic. Use the internet or Flickr. Upload/save to a folder you create. You must copy and paste the URLs of your photos to a PowerPoint slide or word document!!! The LAST slide in your presentation will be this document/slide. To make a title slide: Make a PowerPoint slide. Save the PowerPoint (1 slide) and upload (just like you did with your pictures!)! Watch the how to use Voicethread video on Edmodo to refresh your memory if you need to/look at last semesters examples! Create and share your video using the Voicethread software Watch your classmates videos and leave comments!

Requirements: A 2-3 minute presentation At least 5 slides (creativity counts!) 1 title slide 1 works cited (URLs of images) Your narrative must describe/define your topic. Make an account 1. Go to www.voicethread.com 2. Click sign in or register 3. Register a new account 4. Go to fcps.edmodo.com 5. Click on 12M SP13 then small group UN/PW 6. Save/submit your voicethread username/email/password so you dont lose it! Also, write it here: ______________________________ ____________________________ Where to get images Flickr, Google, etc (must be appropriate and public domain!) To cite your sources, be sure to paste the link to each image you use in a word doc. Upload your document to the last slide in your voicethread. Make a folder on the student share drive under the cafarelli folder to save your images to. Log in to voicethread > create tab > upload > follow steps (you can bulk upload and re order)
