Behavior Management Plan:

These are pictures of the behavior plan I intend on implementing in my classroom. Each student will have a card or clothes pin with his/her name on it to move up or down the behavior chart to showcase their behavior during each day. The teacher will also fill out the Weekly Reflection Sheet for every student at the end of each day indicating what color the student ended on to show what their behavior looked like during that day. The teacher will either color code the sheet with a star in the color that matches the students behavior card, or the teacher can write the name of the color the students card to indicate their behavior for the day. Students will need to take the reflection sheet home everyday to their parents/guardians to be signed and returned to school the next day. Good Behavior (Rewards): All students will start out each day with their cards (or clothes pins) on Green which means Ready To Learn. Students will then have opportunities to move their cards up the chart for demonstrating good behavior. Students will have opportunities to move from Green to Blue for demonstrating good behavior, Blue to Purple for demonstrating great behavior, and then Purple to Pink for outstanding behavior. If students stay on Green, or move up the chart throughout the week (meaning they do not move below Green on the Behavior Chart for the whole week), as well as get their Weekly Reflection

Sheets signed and returned each day for the week, they will receive 5 Gotcha cards (a school wide token system used in all grade levels) as well as a treasure from the Treasure Chest. If students consistently stay on Green or consistently move up the Behavior Chart over a few weeks time span (2 weeks), the teacher will contact parents/guardians or send a letter home to the parents/guardians explaining the students positive and good behavior to inform parents/guardians of their childs demonstration of consistent good behavior in class. Misbehavior (Consequences): Students will also have opportunities to move their cards down the chart which indicates misbehaviors. Students will once again, all start on Green at the start of each day. If students are demonstrating inappropriate behavior or not following classroom rules or directions, they will move their card down from Green to Yellow which is their first warning to correct behavior. If the student continues misbehaving, they will move their card from Yellow down to Orange which means they will receive a consequence for their misbehavior. Consequences may include: loss of recess, loss of center time, lunch detention, loss of Fun Friday activities, etc. If the misbehavior continues, the student will move their card from Orange to Red which means their parents need to be contacted for a Parent Conference. In this case, the teacher will contact the parents via e-mail, phone or meet in person before or after school to discuss the students misbehavior. If students happen to move their card from Green down the chart to Yellow, Orange, or Red, their Weekly Reflection Sheet will be filled out according to which color they moved to along with a small explanation as to why they had to move their card to that particular color. Students will be required to get their reflection sheets signed by their parents/guardians and brought back the next day telling the teacher the parent/guardian is aware of their childs misbehaviors. If students do not bring their reflection sheets back signed at the end of the week, or had to move their cards any lower than a Yellow on the behavior chart (Orange or Red) at any point during the week, that student will not be able to participate in Fun Friday activities, will not receive any Gotcha cards, and will not get a treasure from the Treasure Chest. *Students will begin each week with a clean slate all starting on Green and Ready to Learn.
