Media Relations Intern The National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) is seeking a paid, part-time intern to assist

the media relations manager and the Marketing-Communications department with its media relations and communications activities. Duties: Monitor and track placements via media monitoring service Perform analytics and measurement of placements Research and develop lists of media contacts/databases Identify staff at various publications and outlets appropriate for pitching stories Develop pitches for stories Perform writing, editing and proofreading to copy Create interview prep materials Work on revision and updates to press room page of website via CMS platform Assist in setting up social media platforms for media relations delivery Complete applications for award submissions Assist with the maintenance of media archives (clips, videos, etc.) Other responsibilities may include assisting the Marketing/Communications department with other initiatives Requirements: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, spelling and grammar skills Knowledge of AP style Proficient in computer programs and social media platforms Attention to detail and accuracy when completing work assignments Professional presence and demeanor; ability to work independently Reliability and a strong work ethic; flexibility to assist others as needed Ability to work a consistent 15-20 hour/week schedule (for example, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays); days can be flexible Currently enrolled in an accredited four year college or university or recent graduate with an interest in journalism, communications, public relations or a related field Preferred (but not required): experience with website content management systems To apply: Send e-mail (including schedule of availability), a resume and three references to marcom@nefe.org.
