The Servant Leaders Heart What does Matthew 12:35 says?

One of the Gods purposes of our life here on earth according to Rick Warren is our ministry (SERVICE). We were created to serve God. We are simply Gods servant (1 Cor. 3:5-6). The good deeds are our service (Ephesian 2:10) Whenever we serve others, we are serving God (Ephesians 6:7) God has assigned a special assignment for us (Jeremiah 1:5) In 2 Timothy 2:9, We are saved to serve. In Gods Kingdom, we have a place, a purpose, a role and a function to fulfil. We dont serve God out of guilt, fear or even duty. Through salvation our past has been forgiven, our present is given meaning and our future is secured. Because of their great benefits, we dedicated ourselves to serve God, as written in Roman 12:1. We are saved to serve, not to sit around and wait for heaven. Regardless of our job, our career, we are called to fulltime Christian service (Roman 7:4). Service to the Heart of the Christian Life. Jesus came To serve and To give. (Matthew 20:28). Our spiritual growth or spiritual maturity can be shown in how we serve God. We must practice what we know, what we claim to be. Study without service leads to spiritual stagnation. We need to exercise our spiritual muscles though serving other. We cannot be servant leaders if we dont have the heart of a servant. Rick Warren describes what real servants are: 1. Real Servants make themselves available to serve If we trust God to be in central of our life, do we welcome interruptions, on the spot changes, etc. for Gods glory? Do we see interruption as divine appointment for our ministry? 2 Timothy 2:4 2. Real Servants pay attention to needs When God puts someone in need right in front of you, It is giving you the opportunity to grew in servant hood. Great opportunities to serve never last long. Proverbs 328 John Wesley said: Do all the good you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all times you can, to all the people you can, as long as you ever can. 3. Real Servants do their best with what they have. Do we wait for perfect conditions? Do we make excuses? Do we procrastinate? Are we lazy? Ecclesiastes 11:4 4. Real Servants do every task with equal dedication. Big or small tasks are the same as long as we do it with all our hearts. Jesus Did menial(Small) tasks:Washing Feet, helping children. Fixing breakfast, serving the lepers, etc. Great opportunities often disguise themselves in small tasks. Luke 16:10-12 Matthew 10:42 5. Real Servants are faithful to their Ministry Faithfulness has always been a rare quality. God has promised reward for our faithfulness in eternity. Matthew 25:23 God is testing our faithfulness. Remember Abraham, Moses, David, Daniel , Samuel, Timothy and Paul?Faithful servants never retire. 6. Real Servants Maintain a low profile 1 Peter 5:. Remember the sins of the Pharisees? To whom are we trying to please? Men or God? We have to be content with obscurity? Colossians 3:4 Therefore let us ask ourselves: Are we accepting Gods call to serve Him? Are we always intimate with God?

Are we obedient? If yes, do we reflect a godly character in our daily life. Do we honour God always?
