A SUCCESSFUL LIFE

VISION: Life is governed by principles, know them and succeed

Its choice-not chance that determines your destiny

The Blessed Life Life as God intended Success principles In Jeremiah 29 vs. 11, God spoke some words that will forever ring in my spirit because these words changed my paradigm in a significant way. Having grown up under challenging circumstances there was an ingrained belief hidden in me that life was not meant to be good for me. It could be fine for others but not me, I felt that there was no one who was really interested in my success. As I went through school these feelings were further established when I just did not seem to excel in my academics. I would switch off every time a challenge seemed to go beyond my mind; I never developed a fight that would go against failing at an assignment. I would accept that as my part in life, even during my years in school I would find myself settling in to being in the lowest classes and that constantly communicated that I will always be at the back end of life. This however began to change when I became a Christian I began to see that I had a significant part to play in building a better world. The discovery of purpose brought about the discovery of Gods thoughts about me that He is thinking thoughts of good and not evil and that God wants to bring me to an expected preplanned prosperous end. I had to make up my mind whether God was good or bad or a mix of both depending on whether or not He was in a good mood. If He was good then I was ready to serve him and discover His plans for my life. If God was bad or unpredictable I was not ready to follow Him as that was what my life was already. Religion had taught me that God was a senile unpredictable old man who was waiting to punish me for everything I did wrong. But my quest for the truth of the word and my coming to a church that taught the truth helped me to change my paradigms about God and about my life. This is where I began to discover that life is governed by principles that were initiated or put in place by God. God tells Joshua that as you go into the Promised Land there is a prerequisite to prosperity and good success, which is meditating on the book of the law and keeping it in your mouth. This way you will be able to glean from it the principles that you need in order to fulfill your worthwhile God-given ideal, purpose or destiny. I am a firm believer that Jeremiah 29 vs. 11 applies to every human being ever to be born on this planet. God has a plan for them just as He had a plan for Joshua and the nation he was leading. I then settled this in my heart that if God is thinking about me I want to know those thoughts and I want to fulfill them. This is when success was born in me. Psalm 92 vs. 4-5 made it clear to me that I will triumph at the work of Gods hands and that His thoughts are very deep. I want to encourage you with this that God is thinking about you; discover His thought book and pursue the things written in that book and do them and you

will see success in your life regardless of your background and how bad the current situation is. My prayer is that you will be inspired and motivated by this manual to start your walk of success. You are not doomed to failure until you decide you are, there are no curses for failure in your life except the one you decree over your own destiny. The principle is you attract what you believe about yourself, as a man thinks in his heart so is he, you will prosper and walk in health in proportion to the prosperity and success that is in your soul. The eight lessons that you will go though in this manual will help you condition your heart and mind for success in every area of your life. There are practical sections that will help you think through some important components of your journey, take time to think and write your answers in the fill in section. I also encourage you to buy yourself a good success journal or open a success folder on your computer. Begin to journal or document the thoughts and events that will begin to happen in your life as you have begun a significant journey and you will never be the same again.

Preface
Research and surveys done say only about 2-5% of all people succeed in life; these are startling statistics that I hate with all my heart. It is my life mission to change this by bringing more people to a place where they are successful in life. I firmly believe that life is governed by principles and a careful study of ones life will help in discovering why you are where you are and how you can get yourself to the desired place of success. Follow these principles and you can change your destiny, you are not doomed to failure by some curse or some bad luck on your life. You are the master of your own destiny. Never relegate your personal growth, development and success to somebody else. Joshua 1 vs. 8 tells us that if you do the word and meditate on it day and night YOU will make YOUR way prosperous and YOU will have good success. Its up to you not the government, the economic conditions or your family background, its up to you. Interesting to note that your success does not even depend on God because if it did rest on God, then we would all be successful because that is His desire. We have a significant part to play in what happens in our own lives, we have to take responsibility for our lives. This lesson works along with another, which helps you understand why we go through certain storms and painful experiences on the way to our appointed blessing. Destined for greatness is a lesson you also need to do for yourself as you develop your success paradigms. Let us begin with a definition seeing we are dealing with an interesting subject. Success has many definitions and thats fine. That does not mean there is a wrong or right definition, you need to have a clear picture of what you want to achieve in life and for us in this lesson the most basic understanding of success
Its choice-not chance that determines your destiny

is being able to realize that dream or desire. We will also help you develop that goal a little more so that it has a greater level of significance to you and others around you. For someone success might be a big house, two cars a wife and two children. To another success might be a huge multinational conglomerate that hits billions in annual profits, and yet another might see success as becoming a president of a country, or simply having a mud hut on a plot and some cattle. Success can be the realization of any these if this is the set goal. A house wife who set out to be that is successful, one who wants to be a postman and becomes one is successful and a millionaire who sets out to be one is successful. These principles will help you achieve success in your life. But if this manual is successful it will provoke you to see beyond just your own life, to the impact you can have on many others around you. Our success is measured by our ability to get you out of your personal box into a paradigm that will measure success by the significance you can pass on to others. A good man or woman leaves an inheritance for his childrens children. Success defined= The progressive realization of a worthwhile ideal (set vision) Success begins with a focus to achieve something but it does not end until lives are changed by the success. Napoleon Hill says A successful man is not lonely because he has helped many others arrive at the place of success I believe that real success will result in many lives being impacted not just the seeker of the success, there must be a spill over that causes many to be blessed. God said to Abram the ultimate result of what I am doing in your life is through you shall all the nations of the earth be blessed. If you arrive at success and you are all alone then your success is not real but its empty and void of real life. Examples in the Bible of people that pursued a worthwhile goal that was a blessing to many 1. Genesis 24 vs. 21-24; 39-46; 56 (Vision. Get a wife for the master so that the blessing can be generational) When Eliezer succeeded we were blessed because the Hebrew nation was birthed through that lineage 2. Genesis 39 vs. 2-6; 21-23 (Vision, run Potiphers house, run the prison, run the nation so that Israel can be preserved and multiplied in preparation for Gods agenda to be fulfilled) 3. Joshua 1 vs. 7-8 (Vision; get the nation to possess the land so God can establish His covenant with His people) Read these stories and see how the pursuit of a worthwhile goal can be a blessing to many other people besides you. The Bible is a collection of stories that impacted the destinies of many other people. This manual as I have already stated, is designed to help you develop a new

Success Paradigms 101 5

success paradigm in you mind. 3rd John vs. 2 You have to prosper (succeed) in your soul before you will prosper in your life. God gives us a promise that as we commit our works to the Lord He will establish our thoughts. This literally means the plans that we will put together will be made successful as we commit them to God. Proverbs 16 vs. 3 As we get ready to start the first lesson it is time to decide that you are a part of the minority. You are a part of those that are successful. Decide that failure is not your portion and that Gods thoughts about you will come to full manifestation. Decide that you will never be serious about failure again. People that never fail are people that never try anything. There is nothing wrong with failing as long as you dont repeat it. Learn from every failure and move on, do not settle in the rut or trap of failure. Your past is not an indicator of your future. In the first lesson we will talk about vision and I want to say this from that lesson sight is the ability to see things as they are; vision is the ability to see things as they should be If you have made this decision then you are ready for the lesson today. Mark this day in your journal as the day you made an important decision. I guarantee you that if you will take these lessons seriously and diligently with determination and resolve that within the next 30 days you will be living a transformed life, you will never be the same. These principles have been used by thousands of other successful people and your name will be added in the hall of the successful. Both in the Bible and in human history we see people apply these principles knowingly and unknowingly and they saw success in different areas of life. Romans 12 vs. 1-3 Clearing your mind is an important part of laying good foundations for becoming a successful person. This personal assessment will help you to locate yourself and areas you need to work on. Do take time over the next month to answer these questions and review your answers with the purpose of discovering some paradigms that you nee to change. Try not to rush through the questions but be brutally honest with yourself and if possible have your mentor or someone close to verify some of your answers. Enjoy your journey to self-discovery and you will be glad you took this step. The benefits far out weigh the pain of doing the exercise and by the way, there will be pain and there is a cost to doing this exercise, but remember there is nothing for free in this world. Success will cost you. Are you willing to pay the price?

Success Paradigms 101 15

1. Visualization
See something Sight is the ability to see things, as they are vision is the ability to see things, as they should be. Proverbs 29 vs. 18 When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful. The most outstanding ingredient of successful people is their ability to vision or visualize their life; do you see clearly where you are going? In order to succeed you must see yourself achieve something. The reason most people fail in life is because they have no goals, dreams, aspirations that they are going after. To have no vision is to have never lived.

Exercise one; Take some time to think about your vision in as much detail as possible and write it down in a good notebook or Journal. Create a vision corner

Principles of vision (Habakkuk 2 vs. 1-4) 1. The principle of documentation (write the vision) 2. The principle of simplification (make it plain) 3. The principle of shared vision (give it to heralds) 4. The principle of participation (they may run) 5. The principle of timing (an appointed time) 6. The principle of patience (wait for it) 7. The principle of faith (It will certainly come) You can change your life by changing your focus (thinking, vision). A real significant vision is one that will move you so that you will begin to pursue it with all your heart. When Abram had the vision of his life being a blessing he packed his bags and began to look for a land he had never seen Positive thinking will bring positive results and negative thinking brings negative results (you reap what you sow) develop the ability to visualize life as you would want to live it, begin to think positively about your vision.
Its choice-not chance that determines your destiny

You become what you think about (Proverbs 23 vs. 7) what are you filling your mind with? Look at your personal library and get rid of things that are not enhancing your vision. Your library (book, tapes, CDs, movies) should stock all the necessary material to help you realize your vision. The number one reason for failure in life is broken focus. What is breaking your focus and distracting you from fulfilling the above stated vision?

2. Imagination
Create a world in your mind Think the picture into existence, God said He would do exceeding abundantly above what we ask, think or imagine. Wow that means I have to have an image or picture of the life I want to live and what success looks like to me. Now that you have exercised number one, you have a basic picture of your vision, now you can do number two

Exercise two: Dedicate at least 30 minutes a day to look at the vision and imagine how it will look like when you complete it

Plan and write and think again until it takes shape, develop your thoughts and keep writing, when you exercise your mind by using your imagination, you develop what is called creative imagination. Synthetic and creative imagination: Synthetic imagination is taking what already exists and making something out of it. Creative imagination is using your mind to bring into existence something totally new, like a new business, product, medicine, instrument or invention that will be helpful for humanity. Praying in the Holy Ghost allows your mind to connect with God the author of all great purposes and your ability to be creative will increase. God used this same principle in creating the world.

Success Paradigms 101 17

When your body is submitted to the mind and the mind to the spirit and the spirit to the Holy Spirit you will tap into amazing creative ability It is in praying in the Holy Ghost that God ideas are birthed and it is in that place that they are developed. A great imagination is a great tool (Ephesians 3 vs. 20) Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. 1 Corinthians 14 vs. 2-5 and vs. 18 If I pray in an unknown tongue my spirit prayeth but... I thank my God that I speak... Do not accommodate negative imaginations (Romans 12 vs. 22-26) close your mind to and reject thinking that leads to defeat and failure. Successful people are success minded Exposure is important. The cycle of poverty says you go to a dingy place to do your hair, to buy cloths, to get medical treatment, to eat etc. This will keep you in the place of limited vision and exposure. You need to break out of that cycle by going out to see what is available. There is a world out there full of things that will open your mind to new realities. Where possible, take time to go to places you have never gone to before and see what you have never seen before and do what you have never done before.

3. Faith
Great achievers have a tenacious faith that refuses to fail Habakkuk 2 vs. 4b the just shall live by his faith Believe that this will happen Begin to expect and anticipate that the thing you are planning and dreaming about in your mind to happen

Exercise three; Refuse to think negative thoughts about your vision. When negative thoughts flood your mind speak the Word to yourself and replace the negative thoughts with the Word (list
some scriptures that will help you deal with the fear that will attack you)

Its choice-not chance that determines your destiny

Establish that there is no way that it can fail by using the Word of God as your foundation And you beloved building up yourself in your most holy faith praying in the Holy Ghost Jude vs. 20 Maintain a joyful attitude to life because the joy of the Lord is your strength Create confessions adapted to your vision and desires and speak them to yourself daily; this will help you focus your faith and effort to the set vision. It also helps to read and listen to the life stories of other achievers so as to inspire your faith that you can do great things. Have mentors that you follow after, that can inspire you to greatness. Get some inspirational people around you and keep the fire burning.

4. Desire
You must have a burning desire to succeed You will never have significant success at anything that has not become an obsession Proverbs 18 vs. 1 It is your desire for success that will motivate you to make some important decisions to separate yourself from all distractions. The desire of the righteous shall be fulfilled Psalm 112 vs. 8 Desire is a powerful force that causes men to rise and do great things (Proverbs 13 vs. 12) desire is a powerful motivator

Exercise four; Write down one thing that you desire the most, write an action plan on what you will do to make it happen and set a date by which it should be accomplished

Your desire to succeed will help you create the discipline to follow through on each point and so end up with a clear way forward. NOTE; Without self discipline you will not go far. You have to be able to discipline yourself to go through each of the lessons carefully and do the assignments given as that is what makes the difference between the great and the small. The discipline to do the uncomfortable things that bring greatness

Success Paradigms 101 19

We can see if you really desire something by how much you go after it. The proof of desire is pursuit. I have often said to young people wanting to get married "you dont really want to get married do you? This question is designed to provoke them to see that if they did want to get a person to marry they have to pursue the person.

5. Diligence
Hard work and determination is important; decide to never give up The diligent hand shall be made fat/rich (Pro 4 vs. 4-5) Wealth gotten by diligence increases (Proverbs 13. vs. 11)

Exercise five; Lack is a result of slack. Identify areas in your life where you have been slack and develop an action plan on how you will change that. Communicate this with your mentor

In the first section, you went through a lot of questions about your personality; this is where those questions are important. You need to identify areas that you must work on in order to improve your performance. Its never easy to say hard things about yourself but it will help you know the areas that need the most attention. In fact successful people are in the habit of checking themselves often. It would do you good to do that self-assessment exercise at least twice a year. Meeting a need: You have something that someone else needs. Find out what it is and who needs it. Diligently develop that area and place a monetary value on it and you are in business. Successful business is about mutually rewarding exchange; you could be good at typing, administrating, planning or managing. Knowing what you are good at and developing that area will lead to success. Children of rich people seldom become rich or grow the
Its choice-not chance that determines your destiny

wealth they inherit because their parents do not allow them the privilege of working hard and developing diligence necessary to becoming successful.

6. Meditation
Mutter or speak to oneself You will need to speak into your own life in line with what God is doing in your life and that which you desire. This principle is closely related to principle one and two and the result is principle three will happen. When you meditate on your vision your imagination comes alive to the possibilities of the vision becoming a reality and faith is developed that will make it happen. Do not underestimate the power of meditation also known as autosuggestion. Speak to yourself and get the vision so established in your spirit that no other reality is acceptable. Joshua 1 vs. 8 Psalm 1

Exercise six; develop a daily discipline of speaking the Word of God to yourself. Create confessionals that are full of the Word and speak them consistently (if you need help example can be
provided)

Psalm 119 vs. 99 Your spirit is impacted most by the words that you speak to yourself 1 Timothy 4 7s.a. 14-15 What you meditate on becomes established in your heart and your mind will create a road map to make it happen. The thoughts that dominate your mind the most become the guideline to the reality that you will live. Think of yourself as a success by filling your mind with success thoughts and meditations. Read Genesis 24 verse 63

Success Paradigms 101 21

7. Get information
You need to be well informed about the area you desire to see success in Proverbs 24 vs. 3-7 Proverbs 15 vs. 22 Go after the knowledge that is needed to make you proficient in the vision and vision related areas Story lesson A true story is told of a man who wanted to work for his uncle who owned an oil well. The economy was in a slump so the man said if I work for my uncle on the oil well things will be better for me. Oil wells were doing well at that time. He decided to apply and on receiving a positive response he would sell his farm and go to his new job. The uncle responded by saying you do not know anything about oil so I cannot employ you. The man had set his mind on the new direction so he enrolled in a college and for a year learnt all he could about oil drilling. When he eventually qualified, his uncle said, Fine, come and start work. At this he immediately put the farm on the market and eventually got a buyer. While talking to the buyer he explained that there was a part of the farm where he could not get the grass to grow and the water there was undesirable for drinking because it was murky and dirty. The buyer who was going to use it for ranching said it was fine and bought the land. It was then discovered that there was a great deposit of oil in the section where the water was undrinkable. So he bought a farm for just over US600 and made millions from it. The moral of this true story is: you can sell something for peanuts because you do not know the true value of it. You need to get as much information about what you have. A similar story happened recently in Zimbabwe. Villagers in the Marange area had always used the shiny stones around them to shoot birds and to build walls and so on. Little did they know that their area was full of diamonds? It was only recently that it was discovered that what we were playing with could change our lives forever. What area do you need to get some knowledge in that will change your life? Moral. What you do not know about your desired area of function will cost you. Learn as much as you can.
Its choice-not chance that determines your destiny

Exercise seven; referring to your vision, list three areas of specialized information that you will need to have in order to succeed. Create an action plan on whom, how and when this information will be acquired

The difference between success and failure often is what you know. In some areas you do not need to know everything as long as you know who knows what you need to know. Get journals, periodicals, books, audios and video teaching of the area you are pursuing and fill your mind with that knowledge. Find out all the meetings where there will be conferences and public addresses about your area of pursuit. This principle is closely related to the previous on meditation.

8. Company
All great people are selective about who they keep company with John Maxwell teaches a law called the Law of the inner circle Those closest to you determine your level of success. So you need to be selective about who enters your personal space. Your desire for success is your motivation to make some quality decisions about who you will spend time with and who you will invest time with. Have you ever noticed that some relationships are a cost and some are an investment? Proverbs 18 vs. 1 (Through desire) Bad company corrupts good morals (1 Cor 15 vs. 33) Proverbs 15 vs. 22 You need to build relationships that build your destiny You need people that will encourage you, rebuke you, instruct you, equip you, celebrate you, question you and challenge you.

Exercise eight; Do a relationship audit. List your top 15 relationships and ask whether these are positive or negative relationship. Draw up a schedule on which relationships you will invest in, when, how and what you expect from that relationship.

When you begin to see success you need to keep pressing in by going back to number one and go through all the lessons again because ''Success stifles innovation'' When you succeed dont settle in it press on to the next level. #Learn from people around you and keep growing #When you achieve success its because there are things you have done well but to achieve more success you have to create new things #Positive energy helps you to create more, hang around some people that are saturated with positive energy so that you can create more. #What are the people around you adding to your success? If they are not adding they certainly are subtracting #Share success material with people and your children and friends and inner circle #Create a culture of success around you by using the right language and the right visual aides and reading and viewing material Special notes
