Jones I am taking this statement in reference to the


events on August 20th, 2008, that occurred
during the uh, PRP football practice. Please
describe the events of August 20, 2008, from
the beginning to the end of practice. How are
water breaks given individually or as a team?

Hatfield As a team.

Jones On August 20, 2008, how many water breaks


did you take?

Hatfield I’m really not sure, think about 3 to 4.

Jones After the last water break what did the team
practice consist of?

Hatfield Uhm, our normal running.

Jones I’m sorry normal running?

Hatfield Yeah.

Jones Uh, why was the team running sprints?

Hatfield Uh, mostly we run after practice it’s for like


conditioning.

Jones So, mostly for conditioning?

Hatfield Yes, sir.

Jones How many sprints did your group run?

Hatfield I’m not sure.

Jones What group were you in?

Hatfield The uh, smaller guys.

Jones Offense or def…, or defense?

Hatfield We just run the big guys, and then we run the
small guys.

Jones And, you ran in the smaller group?

Hatfield Yes, sir.

Jones Uh, what end of the field did you run, were
you running?

Hatfield Uh, we run from one side of the field to the


other.

Jones Uh, from the width of the field to, or the length
of the field?

Hatfield Uh, the width.

Jones How may sprints did you run before taking off
gear?

Hatfield Uhm, think about 5.

Jones Okay. How many did you run after taking off
your gear?

Hatfield Probably about 5.

Jones How long do you think the team was running


sprints?

Hatfield Um, about 10 to 15 minutes.

Jones Did any of your teammates ask for water, or try


to get water during those sprints, during their
running sprints?

Hatfield No, sir.

Jones Uh, if any was denied, who was denied?

Hatfield No one.

Jones Did you or any of your teammates become ill


during uh, running of sprints?

Hatfield A couple of ‘em.

Jones Do you know their names?

Hatfield Uh, Antonio Calloway, and then when we.

Jones When did he get sick?

Hatfield At uh, like uh, when we took off our


equipment, he started breathing hard.

Jones Okay. When uh, after you had run several


sprints or, or what?

Hatfield After we run several.

Jones How many did you say he ran before he got


sick?

Hatfield Uhm, probably about 10.

Jones So, Antonio Calloway got ill after running 10


sprints? And, who else?

Hatfield Uh, Max and he got sick at the end of it, when

we was all done.

Jones Was, did Max, Max become ill after the sprints
were ran?

Hatfield Yes, sir.

Jones How did you say Matt ran?

Hatfield Uh, probably about 15, 20.

Jones And, anyone else?

Hatfield No, sir.

Jones Okay. So, you told, you telling me that you did
not get sick or ill during running of sprints?

Hatfield No, sir.

Jones During any practice this year, have you


personally seen or hear of any teammates being
injured or quitting the team?

Hatfield No, sir.

Jones Has anyone influenced you in anyway to


withhold information or change any of the
facts that actually occurred during the practice?

Hatfield No, sir.
