Hello, my name is Heidi Larson. I currently coteach the 12:00, 12:30, 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 classes with Shelby. Outside of dance I am enrolled at Hawkeye Community College. I will be graduating this spring with my Liberal Arts degree. I started taking dance in Belmond when I was 3 years old. This will be my 17th year of dance and my first year of teaching. My favorite thing about dance would have to be recital day, I love being able to show off all the hard work I have done through out the year. Pointe is my favorite style of dance, I started pointe when I was 11 years old and have loved it ever since. If I could dance to any song it would have to be a mix of songs, I like too many songs to just pick one! I was very nervous the first couple weeks of teaching because this is my first year, however it has been GREAT!! One of my main goals for the year would be to have all my students push themselves to learn a lot and have fun doing it! I look forward to continuing this awesome year and having a great recital with all of you!! Hi, I'm Shelby Graveman, a freshman at Hawkeye Community College. This is my 12th year with Jeune Attente Dance Company: the first 11 as a student and this is my first year as an instructor. I was on the Union Middle School dance team 3 years, and the High School dance team 4 years. Throughout high school I was one of the coaches for the UMS Dance team. My goal for this year is to apply my dance knowledge and teaching skills that I have acquired my last 4 years assisting at Jeune Attente to aid in another successful year of dance. The most meaningful experience I have had in dance was putting my emotions to the test while performing my senior dance solo as a memorial to a very special person we lost in 2011. It was a testament to all of my years in the company to put poetry into motion. Tap and jazz are my specialties! My wish for the girls is that they all discover the same magic that I did with dance and use it as they grow to discover their true individuality.
