DEATHS IN THE BUNKHOUSE:
Yesterday afternoon, Samantha Curley, 26, was
found dead under yellow hay in the barn of the
bunkhouse located in Soledad, Salinas. It appears
that the fragile bones of the young woman’s neck
were broken allegedly. The members and workers of
the bunkhouse were interviewed by the police and
they had no clue whatsoever about the horrific
incident. In addition, next to the dead body of
Samantha Curley there was a dead puppy. It is
considered that the hands of an unknown strong
man must have killed both of these victims, but was

later no longer unknown.

Salinas, Lennie Small, 35, was found dead, blood
running down his face. It appears to be that a gun
shot straight through his brain and killed Lennie
Small. The investigators even found a dead body of
an old dog lying in the storage of the bunkhouse.

these victims. The fingerprints matched two killers of

the bunkhouse and were finally revealed that the

dead huge man, Lennie Small, has strangled and

allegedly broke Samantha Curley’s neck, roughly
cracking the delicate bones of her neck. The
investigators found a small puppy hid in the
restroom of the bunkhouse, also killed by Lennie
Small.

One of the members of the bunkhouse, George

Milton, who was a close friend of Lennie’s, explained
casually that Lennie Small was a sick, innocent,
mentally disabled friend and that meant absolutely
no intention of afflict. It was revealed that Carlson
White, another member of the bunkhouse shot the
big dead old dog. A couple of days later, it was found
out that George Milton’s fingerprints matched the
gun that Lennie was shot by. George Milton and
Carlson White were sent to the court yesterday. The
devastating and horrific incidents repeatedly
occurring in the bunkhouse is currently kept an eye
on by polices and investigators.

LETTER TO THE EDITORIAL
June 19th, 1938

THE TOWN’S LIMITED PATIENTS FOR THE
BUNKHOUSE:
Several members of the bunkhouse in Soledad have been ridiculously drunk
and have caused big problems in the town. The African-Americans work for a
day in the field and does not even go to the bar, but White-Americans in the
bunkhouse work less than a half of what African-Americans do and goes to the
bars, gets drunk, and is not even aware of their disgusting actions. The town
has been suffering over people getting beaten up by the drunken members of
the bunkhouse and my patients are limited. There is definitely something
going on in the bunkhouse. A few members have been murdered and now
what? Drunken men beating up innocent citizens of the town! One of the
members of the bunkhouse threw a glass at a five-year-old child and a mother
while drunken in the streets. I simply cannot believe how grown-up men can
be so unaware of the consequences they have caused to reach to the point
where I, and the people in town, have the absolute right to complain about the
ridiculous absurdity that the members of the bunkhouse demonstrate. The
town is evolving to become fearful and maddened and the bunkhouse will no
longer last in this town of ours.
The drunken members of the bunkhouse briefly apologized for their
inconsideration and unawareness last week, to the injured five-year-old child
and mother. The town was not convinced whether the bunkhouse really was
regretting it or not. Seems like they could not care less, according to their
ignorant, unregretful attitudes. The town is concerned and is being careful of
keeping their distance away from the bunkhouse as far away as possible. I am
through having this contagious, anxious feeling bottled up inside my heart
deeply concerned of the dangerous drunken men in the bunkhouse. I am
intending to go to the court next week and going to explain my frustration and
anxiety, since I am sickened of this situation.
This causes consequences which may eventually lead to them getting kicked
out of the town. Well, how are the people in the town going to do that? At the
moment, we are having discussions on how to solve this violent issue, and it
may eventually be solved after I step forward out from the court.

OPINION/OBITUARY June 20th, 1938

We all remember the 1936 Summer Olympics. Well, I specifically remember Jesse
Owens, who participated in the Summer Olympics and demonstrated magnificent skills.
The rights he had at United States was far from the same as the rights he had in Berlin,
Germany. He was able to use public transportation and go into bars and other public
facilities without the difficulty he would face as a black man in the United States. And
when I think of all the rights Owens had, I personally now look at the American law as if
it is unreasonable to have so much against African-Americans. Who started all of that?
Yes, Hitler, and I do not seem to understand his logic. Maybe it is not logic. It is
ignorance and stupidity. Lets face it. We all have got something to shout out and
complain about to presidents and the ruling government. Every citizen in the community
of the United States will agree to my opinion. White-Americans and African-Americans
are not that different. It is such a basic opinion and could be a statement, and it drives
politicians and the government insane. Hitler had deliberately avoided acknowledging
Owens’s victory, and refused to shake hands with him. Maybe that was just to
demonstrate that Hitler was still not convinced that African-Americans are acceptable.
But we never know if he really was feeling that way or not. Maybe deep behind that
unsuspecting attitude, there might have been some impressed and pleased feeling.

I cannot imagine how hurt and offended African-Americans are feeling. I really respect
them therefore they are living strongly. They deserve much more than what White-
Americans have. African-Americans work twice as harder than White-Americans.
Discrimination, criticism, and disrespect are not what they deserve. Maybe some day
White-Americans will open their eyes and finally understand that it was a truly shameful,
fraudulent thing they have caused and done. Maybe someday African-Americans will be
respected with all dignity from White-Americans.

traveled all the way to Soledad with his best
and only friend, George Milton. He has
murdered Samantha Curley, the small puppy,
big old dog, and even killed rats and rabbits

rabbits, rats and even puppies and work with
George to make a living and his ultimate
dream of “living off the fatta the land.” His life
towards the end was devastating and his best
