Summary of the thesis The thesis is about the political though of chairman of the Moro Islamic Liberation front,

Salamat Hashim. this is was done by analyzing his published works, khutbah, speeches and lectures. Salamat believed that the foundations of Islamic political system are tawid and shura. He is of the opinion that when God created the whole world creation He provided the sysem upon which each creature operates. When a Muslim affirms LA ILAHA ILLAH ALLAH MUHAMAAD RASULULLAH he commits himself to follwo the system provided by Allah for him by following the Qur'an and the Sunnah of prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. His interpretation of the political meaning of the tawhidic cread is similiar with the interpretation of Syed Abul-A'la Mawdudi, Imam Khomeini and Syed Qutb. Like khomeini, Syed Qutb, Hasan al-Banna and Maududi, Salamat regarded the establishment of an Islamic government as a necessity. His models of Islamic government were the one during the Prophet's period and the one during the rule of the al-Khulaf al-Rashidun. As to the form and structure he shared the opinion of Syed Qutb that Islam does not recommend definite form and structure. However, for an Islamic government in Mindanao he is inclined to a federal system where the

Musims, Christian migrants and indigenous inhabitants will constitute separate states to be governed by their respective religious and costmary law.

Critique Hashim Salamat and MILF before Hashim Salamat is one of the best fundamentalist 'Alim that this country ever had, he is observed to be willing to sacrifice anything just to stand for what he believed to be true and right. this sacrifice is seen when he brake his silence on the Muslim oppression in Mindanao and joined the MNLF, another sacrifice he made was when he broke away from the MNLF. Hashim Salamat might have been aware of the repercautions of splitting the group into two as it weakens Moro struggle agains the colonial Philippine government but since he found out the MNLF started to deviate from the original plan (independence) and wanted to have autonomy instead where most of the beneficiaries are the Tausugs, he decided to form MILF with the goal of no less than Indepence per se. however as the what the author the thesis presented most of the ideology used by Hashim Salamat were from Khumenie, Sayd Qutb and Maududi etc. a kind of ideology that was very effective but may not be of the same effect in a given period of time and place to which i would like to

highlight: Khummeini's success was due thru awaking the shi'ahs and intalling to their minds the need to raise agianst the the Shahs of Iran who was a puppet of USA the shah were not only the ruling family depriving other people to be leaders of the community without any relation to the shah and the shahs are generally cruel to the shi'ahs. the shi'ahs comprise the major population of Iran making Khumeini's work easily done. the key was just making his ideology as public opinion while exposing the negativity of the shahs. Using this scheme the revolution that he led had no other way but to succeed. which is not applicable to the case of the Bangsamoro for, even within Mindanao the according to Suliman Santos (2002) the Bangsamoro comprises only 25% of the population where 5% goes to the Lumads and the remaining 70% are cristians. This ratio was the reverse of the Iran's situation making the ideology used in Iran irrelevant to the case of Bangsamaor strugle in Mindnao.

Both Sayid Qutb and Maududi had not lived to see the fruit of what they had planted. As they were too radical in dealing with revolution as a result they ended up persecuted by their government. Why would I follow a rail road which final end is a stiff? Why would I exert time and effort to look for a stone and upon founding it bang it against my head?

MILF today The most quoted reason to the splitting of MILF from MNLF is deviation from Independence as original plan, but as far as I am concern, the most obvious reason for splitting is tribal rivalry. Where the Tausog MNLF has the only privilege of rise up. the reason that I am bringing this up is after observation and analysis, I came to prove that the cause of splitting is not longing of independent, aside from many undisputable evidence that it was really tribal issue not independent, is the question on why came up with the Agreement with the government on "Bangsamoro Framework"? I have read the agreement and read the opinions of the MILF on it yet there is no mention of "independence" in the entire 15-page document. if independence is the reason why they split form the MNLF then why come up with a contract with the government which goal is to replace an autonomy (ARMM) with another autonomy (Bangsamor Political Entity)? if the MILF wanted autonomy why split from MNLF in the first place? Isnt it obvious that all what they want is to gain power to which they can not have while they are in MNLF?
