OVERVIEW
The Ann Arbor Languages Partnership (A2LP) offers an opportunity to University of Michigan teach Spanish to 3rd and 4th graders in Ann Arbor Public Schools. The program is a course that combines intensive preparation in teaching Spanish at the elementary level with extensive clinical placements that are supported through collaboration with the Ann Arbor Public Schools.

RESEARCH
As the A2LP affects every 3rd and 4th grade child in the entire district, the Partnership will from the perspective of students with language-related disabilities, including autism, specific language impairment, and auditory processing disorders. We hope to include the views of the students themselves, their parents, teachers, speech-language pathologists, and Apprentice T eachers.

EVENT & CALENDAR


We welcome the participation of community members in the Apprentice T eacher force. This requires a certain degree of proficiency in to teaching twice a week during the school year and during school hours and attendance at weekly seminars.

DONATE TODAY
In the 2012-2013 school year, approximately 75 Apprentice T eachers are teaching all 3rd and 4th grade students in 20 schools across the classrooms, with classroom teachers as mentors.

OUR STAFF
Edward L. Miller - Executive Director Ed was President and CEO of the Asphalt Institute prior to becoming the Rubber Division's first Executive Director and an officer of the Division. He earned a BS in Civil Engineering from the US Air Force Academy, MS in Civil Engineering from the University of New Mexico, MBA from the University of Oklahoma and is a registered Professional Engineer.

Chuck Brady - Science Librarian Chuck joined Rubber Division, ACS as the Science Librarian in April 2011. His background includes 15 years supporting scientific research and business intelligence gathering in the library at the National Geographic Society. Chuck earned his Masters Degree in Library & Information Science from Kent State University in 2008.

Linda McClure - T echnical & Student Programs Manager Linda joined Rubber Division, ACS in August 2002. Prior to that, she was the Office Manager, supported the sales staff and tracked orders for the Continental Carbon Company. Linda held several positions during eight years at GenCorp in the departments of Human Resources, Administrative Services and IT , and she worked as Assistant to the Director of Employee Benefits.

Melanie Avdeyev - Meetings & Executive Assistant Melanie joined the Division in June 2006. She came to us with five years of experience assisting the Executive Director of a non-profit association. Melanie is a valuable resource and is well diverse in areas of Rubber Division, ACS having held the positions of Meetings Manager, Exposition & Futures Sites Manager and her current position of Meetings & Executive Assistant.
