Note : The Induction Programme being a motivational programme, the deliberations should not be confined to theoretical classes or lectures delivered but it should be made interesting, attractive, participatory and also brain-storming. The give a clear idea about teachinglearning system, particularly at the elementary level and how best the teachers are required to discharge their responsibilities, the following activities are to be carried out during the session. Themes/Topics 1 Philosophical Understanding of Education 2 Aims of Education Small Group Activities Discussion on the educational Philosophies of Gandhiji, Tagore and Vivekananda. Discussion on the aims of education according to Idealism,Naturalism and Pragmatism, and which of these schools philosophy is relevant in the present day context? 3 Understanding the Child Discussion on importance of co-curricular activities for growth and development of the students 4 Children as Diverse Learners From experiences as teachers how suitable environment in classroom can be created to meet the individual differences in children 5 Teacher and Society What should be teachers contribution towards the society. Discussion based on own experiences
