Messiah

Christian missionaries claim that Jesus is the messiah. But why has Judaism rejected this assertion for 2000 years? The concept of the Messiah comes from the Jewish bible, the Tanach. It clearly teaches that all of the following criteria must be fulfilled before any person can be acknowledged as the messiah.
There will have been an ingathering of the Jewish exiles. The Holy Temple in Israel will be rebuilt. Their will be peace throughout the world. The Messiah will reign as king, at a time when all the people will embrace the Torah and observe Gods commandments. The messiah will rule at a time when all the people of the world will come to acknowledge and serve the one true God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The messiah must be from the tribe of Judah, and a direct descendant of king David and of king Solomon, now geneology in the bible is only passed down from father to son, but the christian bible claims, that he did not have a birth father from the tribe of Judah descending from David and Solomon.

1 - The ingathering of the Jewish exiles - When the messiah is reigning as the king of Israel, the
Jewish people will be ingathered from their 2000 year exile, and will return to Israel their homeleand. However Jesus never reigned as king, and the Jewish people have not yet returned to live in their promised homeleand of Israel.

2 - The Holy Temple in Israel will be rebuilt - Actually, the Temple was still standing in the
days of Jesus, it was destroyed 38 years after his crucifixion, and has not yet been rebuilt.

3 - Their will be peace throughout the world - Universal disarmament, and a complete end to
war. Yet since the advent of christianity wars have increased, some of them have even been fought in the name of Jesus.

4 - The Messiah will reign as king, at a time when all the people will embrace the Torah and observe Gods commandments - Today, not all people are following the Torah .

5 - The messiah will rule at a time when all the people of the world will come to acknowledge and serve the one true God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - This as well
has not yet taken place, and we are awaiting it's fulfillment.

6 - The messiah must be from the tribe of Judah, and a direct descendant of king David and Solomon. - Geneology in the bible is only passed down from father to son, but the christian bible claims, that he did not have a birth father from the tribe of Judah descending from David and Solomon.
