Introduction

Power. Humanity has always been looking for more and more power. From territories to recourses and people themselves have been the targets for this all-time-searched power. And this so-called needed power can only be achieved by suffering, dead, the crying of children, the pain of young widows, and the anguish of parents under the control of selfish men in charge of the whole operation. War.

In this committee, the delegates will be seeking the prevention of World War 3 that can be triggered by the mayor tensions between different countries that can affect the global economy and the worlds well being.

History of the problem

July 28th 1914. The first Global war begins, The Great War. On 28 July, the conflict opens with the AustroHungarian invasion of Serbia, followed by the German invasion of Belgium, Luxembourg and France; and Russian attack against Germany. After the German march on Paris was brought to a halt, the Western Front settles into a static battle of attrition with a trench line that changes little until 1917. In the East, the Russian army successfully fights against the Austro-Hungarian forces but is forced back from East Prussia and Poland by the German army. Additional fronts open after the Ottoman Empire joins the war in 1914, Italy and Bulgaria in 1915 and Romania in 1916. The Russian Empire collapsed in March 1917, and Russia leaves the war after the October Revolution later this year. After a 1918 German offensive along the western front, the Allies drive back the German armies in a series of

successful offensives and United States forces begin entering the trenches. Germany, which has its own trouble with revolutionaries at this point, agrees to a cease-fire on 11 November 1918, later known as Armistice Day. The war has ended in victory for the Allies. But at what cost? The total number of military and civilian casualties in World War I was over 37 million. There were over 16 million deaths and 20 million wounded ranking it among the deadliest conflicts in human history. The total number of deaths includes about 10 million military personnel and about 7 million civilians. The Entente Powers (also known as the Allies) lost about 6 million soldiers while the Central Powers lost about 4 million. At least 2 million died from diseases and 6 million went missing, presumed dead.

September 1st 1939. A little more than 20 years after the Great War ended, another even more deadly and fierce war explodes. World War 2. World War 2, was a global war that was under way by 1939 and ended in 1945. It involved a vast majority of the world's nationsincluding all of the great powers eventually forming two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis. It was the most widespread war in history, with more than 100 million people serving in military units. In a state of "total war", the major participants placed their entire economic, industrial, and scientific capabilities at the service of the war effort, erasing the distinction between civilian and military resources. Marked by significant events involving the mass death of civilians, including the Holocaust and the only use of nuclear weapons in warfare, it resulted in 50 million to over 70 million fatalities. These deaths make World War II by far the deadliest conflict in all of human history.

Although the Empire of Japan was already at war with the Republic of China in 1937, the world war is generally said to have begun on 1 September 1939, with the invasion of Poland by Germany, and subsequent declarations of war on Germany by France and most of the countries of the British Empire and Commonwealth. Germany set out to establish a large empire in Europe. From late 1939 to early 1941, in a series of campaigns and treaties, Germany conquered or subdued much of continental Europe. Following the MolotovRibbentrop Pact, the nominally neutral Soviet Union fully or partially invaded, occupied and annexed territories of its six European neighbors, including Poland. The United Kingdom and its Commonwealth remained the only major force continuing the fight against the Axis, with battles taking place in North Africa as well as the long-running Battle of the Atlantic. In June 1941, the European Axis launched an invasion of the Soviet Union, giving a start to the largest land theatre of war in history, which tied down the major part of the Axis' military forces for the rest of the war. In December 1941, the Empire of Japan, which aimed to dominate East Asia and Indochina, joined the Axis, attacked the United States and European territories in the Pacific Ocean, and quickly conquered much of the West Pacific. The Axis advance was stopped in 1942, after Japan lost a series of naval battles and European Axis troops were defeated in North Africa and, decisively, at Stalingrad. In 1943, with a series of German defeats in Eastern Europe, the Allied invasion of Fascist Italy, and American victories in the Pacific, the Axis lost the initiative and undertook

strategic retreat on all fronts. In 1944, the Western Allies invaded France, while the Soviet Union regained all of its territorial losses and invaded Germany and its allies. The war in Europe ended with the capture of Berlin by Soviet and Polish troops and the subsequent German unconditional surrender on 8 May 1945. During 1944 and 1945 the United States defeated the Japanese Navy and captured key West Pacific islands, dropping atomic bombs on the country as the invasion of

the Japanese archipelago became imminent. The war in Asia ended on 15 August 1945 when the Empire of Japan agreed to surrender. The total victory of the Allies over the Axis in 1945 ended the conflict. World War II altered the political alignment and social structure of the world. The United Nations (UN) was established to foster international cooperation and prevent future conflicts. The great powers that were the victors of the war the United States, Soviet Union, China, the United Kingdom, and France became the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. The Soviet Union and the United States emerged as rival superpowers, setting the stage for the Cold War, which lasted for the next 46 years. Meanwhile, the influence of European great powers started to decline, while the decolonization of Asia and Africa began. Most countries whose industries had been damaged moved towards economic recovery. Political integration, especially in Europe, emerged as an effort to stabilize postwar relations.

The Cold War, often dated from 19451991, was a sustained state of political and military tension between powers in the Western world, dominated by the United States with NATO and other allies; versus powers in the Eastern world, dominated by the Soviet Union with its Warsaw Pact and other allies. The Soviet Union held satellite states especially in the Warsaw Pact in Eastern Europe as well as in Asia. The United States held client states especially in Central and South America, and Asia. This began after the success of their temporary wartime alliance against Nazi Germany, leaving the USSR and the US as two superpowers with profound economic and political differences. A neutral faction arose with the Non-Aligned Movement founded by Egypt, India, and Yugoslavia, this faction rejected association with either the US-led West or the Soviet-led East. The Cold War was so named as it never featured direct military action, since both East and West possessed nuclear weapons, and because their use would probably guarantee their mutual assured destruction. However both repeatedly engaged in indirect confrontations through proxy wars. The cycles of relative calm would be followed by high tension, which could have led to war. The most tense involved the Berlin Blockade (19481949), the Korean War (19501953), the Suez Crisis (1956), the Berlin Crisis of 1961, the Cuban Missile Crisis (1962), the Vietnam War

(19591975), the Yom Kippur War (1973), the Soviet war in Afghanistan (19791989), the Soviet downing of Korean Air Lines Flight 007 (1983), and the Able Archer NATO military exercises (1983). The conflict was instead expressed through military coalitions, strategic conventional force deployments, extensive aid to client states, espionage, massive propaganda campaigns, conventional and nuclear arms races, appeals to neutral nations, rivalry at sports events, and technological competitions such as the Space Race. The US and USSR fought proxy wars of various types: in Latin America and Southeast Asia, the USSR assisted and helped foster communist revolutions, opposed by several Western countries and their regional allies; some the US attempted to roll back through subversion and warfare, with mixed results. To alleviate the risk of a potential nuclear war, both sides sought dtente in the 1970s to relieve political tensions. In the 1980s, the United States increased diplomatic, military, and economic pressures on the Soviet Union, at a time when the communist state was already suffering from economic stagnation. In the mid-1980s, the new Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev introduced the liberalizing reforms of perestroika ("reconstruction", "reorganization", 1987) and glasnost ("openness", ca. 1985). This opened the country and its satellite states to a mostly peaceful wave of revolutions, which culminated in the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, leaving the United States as the dominant military power. The Cold War and its events have left a significant legacy, and it is often referred to in popular culture, especially in media featuring themes of espionage and the threat of nuclear warfare.

<<For years it has been talked about the rising tensions in the Middle East, and for years, have heard politicians express their concerns about Iran's nuclear program, but now things really seem to be reaching a boiling point. In just the past few days, the U.S. government has imposed new sanctions against Iran and has completely closed the U.S. embassy in Syria. The truth is that we If a major war erupts, it could send oil prices skyrocketing, and the possibility that war could be expanded very quickly. Hezbollah has already indicated that it will side with Syria, and there is always the possibility that Hamas will too. Russia and China have stated that they are completely opposed to military action by the U.S. against Iran and Syria, and have even hinted that possibly even help in the defense of those countries. While the world's nations to take sides, even the possibility that there could be developing the Third World War.>>

Recent Events

China has increased over the past years its economy at a grand scale becoming the first world power followed by The United States keeping it at the edge of the financial system. Because of the newfound oil deposits on Chinas controlled Asian continent and other areas such as the Arabic countries that boosted a new and long-lasting reserve for at least 50 years. Another factor that contributed to Chinas improvement was the closure of the Arabic petroleum to the G-7 due to the dispute over the payment in dollars with the United States closing the frontiers for commerce forcing the United States of America, France, Italy, Germany, Canada, Japan and the United Kingdom to search other scarce oil sources and reducing their economic power significantly. The fear of Chinas rising economy has created a stronger alliance between the European Union and the United States (along with the G-7), nevertheless formed with important tensions between the Asian world power and China. Although the tensions between China and USA are important, there are other issues that can lead to a global conflict such as the nuclear weapon tryouts on Syria, Iran and North Korea, provoking

accidentally several explosions costing thousands of innocent lives making some of the most powerful countries to get prepared for war considering a possible terrorist attack. Strain between this countries and the rest of the world are not new. They have been building up since the Cold War and also since the Arab-Israeli war causing not only a territory division but also a cultural one because of religion differences, this war has become not only an individual and small war, but has extended to other countries and become a human right issue, dividing the world once again into blocks. Even if they are a lot of countries that are neutral, tensions between the countries that exploited the bomb and were seriously affected, there are countries supporting Palestine and that are concerned about global peace supporting Israel, causing the elimination of the Palestine state in a radical number.

Corea del Norte amenaza con una guerra nuclear http://www.intereconomia.com/noticias-negocios/finanzas-personales/politicaeconomica/corea-del-norte-amenaza-guerra-nuclear <<On 19 March, the military leadership of North Korea had threatened in a statement to the U.S. and South Korea "with unprecedented attacks" by attempting to overthrow its communist regime. The statement was run by a military leader unidentified official news agency KCNA. "Those who attempt to overthrow the regime of the Democratic Republic of Korea, actively or passively, are victims of a nuclear attack unprecedented invincible army," read the statement. This warning refers specifically to an unconfirmed report, published on 19 March by the South Korean newspaper Dong-A Ilbo, which ensures that representatives of the United States, South Korea and China will meet next month to evaluate a possible emergency strategy to potential political unrest in Pyongyang. "The army and people of the Democratic Republic of Korea in a legitimate way to counteract its powerful nuclear deterrence the largest ever nuclear war exercises organized by the U.S. and the South Korean puppet forces," said the National Defense Commission, one of the best equipped in the world, presiding Kim Jong-il, through a statement from the official news agency KCNA.

The comments follow the threat previously made to undertake "when it takes" a "holy war" against the U.S. and South Korea for "reckless" naval and air exercises. From the White House in the U.S. has ensured that the operation, which will involve 8,000 military personnel, 200 aircraft and 20 ships, is a warning to North Korea for the sinking in March of a South Korean corvette, which killed 46 sailors. U.S. and South Korea accused the communist regime have torpedoed the Cheonan near the disputed maritime border in the Yellow Sea. However, since North Korea has reiterated that it has nothing to do with the incident. China has expressed "deep concern" over the escalation of tension and has asked both sides to exercise restraint. Beijing pressure forced to move the Yellow Sea exercises Sea of Japan, east of South Korea. However, U.S. and Seoul have warned that this is only the first of a dozen maneuvers that are looking to make in the coming months, and to be held in both seas.>>

The recent invasion of the South Korean country by its neighbor North Korea searching the end of the communist regimen and having already threatened with a nuclear war, has brought to the United Nations hands yet another issue to resolve in order to put an end to this radical step, and save the lives of millions of people.

Although the Stalinist regime in Pyongyang has announced that it has successfully put into orbit a space satellite, its Asian neighbors and the U.S. suspect it's actually disguised test of an intercontinental missile that could hit Hawaii, Alaska and even the coast of California.>> The current situation of the Arabic countries, the extreme violence, although this tension are trying to be controlled, is our duty as General Assembly to find the solution to ease the hostilities

inside each country to regain the balance of the worlds economy, preventing a disaster that could let to end of humanity, the 3 world war.

Tercera Guerra Mundial http://tuespacioyelmio.wordpress.com/category/tercera-guerra-mundial/ <<The war is going, this time not only against a country, but still using an old excuse that there are no nuclear weapons in Iran, the Zionists who rule U.S. is launching a new war. We have a huge fleet near the Iranian border, and the January 23 EU launched the decree to challenge Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz, and confirmed that it will close. But before closing the strait, Iran must ensure that the great fleet anchored off its borders not fire, and the only way to ensure that is that Iran simultaneously trigger a major attack, to end the threat from its coast, and just that they want to provoke, Iran shoot first for them to justify the final attack, an attack that can surely destroy Iran and Syria in a few minutes, and that should be more than willing to use nuclear weapons from different angles, United Kingdom, Iraq, Israel and others. Russia and China have announced their respective armed forces must be prepared for a third world war long range and the use of weapons technology. Russia has sent warships to the coast of Syria as a warning to the U.S. and NATO military action against any Arab country that will have a response in defense of its ally Syria. Meanwhile China said that an attack on Iran would be the trigger for a third world war. USA has prepared with bacteriological weapons, which can trigger epidemics such as bird flu that can kill millions of people in a few days. Biological or bacteriological warfare is a unique form of combat, in which different types of weapons used containing viruses or bacteria capable of inflicting massive damage on military and / or civilian. The use of biological weapons is prohibited by the United Nations, but many countries (military powers) have this kind of arsenal in the form not only of bombs, but also of other entertainment less conventional agents.>>

A U.S. added France and Britain against Iran is being targeted thermonuclear Israel, who has some 25 000 nuclear warheads. U.S., UK, France, Israel, North Korea, China (with over 100 million soldiers) and Russia are nuclear powers, India and Pakistan also, countries neighboring Afghanistan occupied by Yankee troops also stationed in Korea South, Iraq, Afghanistan, Japan and several Arab countries. The vast space of the Middle East (Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, UAE, Qatar, Bahrayn, Kuwayt, Jordan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan) and China and Russia is bristling weapons and tension is very strong. The imperialist states of Europe and the U.S. are overwrought with the assault on Libya and the humiliating and grotesque murder perpetrated against al-Qaddafi by NATO and U.S. military expertise. British, French, Israeli and gringos trained, armed and financed mercenaries to overthrow the Syrian government, repeating what was done in Libya. In Iran it is more difficult and encourage the Israeli extreme right (the Zionists in the political and military power) to attack the Persian people armed with their support, logistics and intelligence with techno-scientific application. The seizure with Iran has become definitive and at all levels; the European Union has given irresponsibly necessary step. Iran has announced that if the embargo is effective, all cut oil supplies from the Persian Gulf in closing off the Strait of Hormuz, all added to the huge military contingent of warships French, British and Americans located in the area, make instead of a powder keg ready to explode.

ONU Actions

There has been no ONU action concerning this issues so far. The conflict rising up is one to be taken seriously and into resolution as soon as possible. It is the duty of the delegations of the countries concerned and the ones that could be damaged as well as a solution, to determine the outcome of this catastrophic conflict.
